Chapter 1498: Chapter 714: Are You Trying to Disgust Me?

The darkness had descended, and Elijah Hastings came over to report to Sean Knight, asking where to rest.

Sean understood Elijah’s intention, which was for him to decide whether to anchor nearby or return to the Port.

After all, they were out at sea, and no one could guarantee that there wouldn’t be strong winds or the like after dark.

Sean looked around and then said to Elijah,

"Let’s find a place in the Shallow Sea nearby to anchor. We’ll take another look tonight."

Here, in the international waters, Sean should have been able to salvage anything he found directly. However, reality was not that simple—if the items to be salvaged had clear ownership, then those countries would surely come to claim them.

Moreover, Sean still felt that the salvage boat wouldn’t let him salvage the items from the sea that easily.

Even if it was in international waters.

Since Sean had spoken, Elijah immediately activated the Radar to search, found a suitable spot to anchor, and prepared to rest.

Lincoln Harrington, meanwhile, was inquiring about the sea conditions and weather in the vicinity through the radio and Satellite phone, and soon confirmed that there would be wind tonight, but it wouldn’t be very strong.

Sean was quite satisfied with this news.

As night fell, the salvage boat could no longer see the yacht. However, Sean could see from the yacht that the salvage boat had circled around in the distance before finally leaving.

Sean went to rest early on the yacht. However, five hours later, Sean quietly got up and donned his Diving Equipment.

Douglas Cooper, who was on Night Watch duty on the yacht at the moment, heard the noise and looked over. Sean gestured for him to be silent and then dived into the water alone.

Douglas wanted to advise him against it, but he knew that his boss was not one to heed advice—not at this time, at least. So, he went to the cockpit and turned on the Radar to see what Sean was up to.

There was wind on the Sea Surface so the waves undulated below, and Sean felt a distinct difference from the daytime.

Underwater life wasn’t abundant here; the area had winds and waves, but no currents; the Sea Territory was open, yet the food chain seemed incomplete. Occasionally, small shoals of fish could be seen, though they were not very active.

Sean didn’t mind this and, having identified his bearings, he dove towards the submarine canyon on the seafloor.

As he dived beyond 100 meters, Sean began to feel the pressure, which would have been unbearable for Ordinary people at this depth.

Sean’s Diving Equipment had been prepared by Delton Suweton and, if not the top in the world, it was certainly among the best, thus providing decent protection for the human body.

Moreover, Sean’s physical condition was already several times better than that of an ordinary person, so although he felt pressure, it wasn’t a big deal, and he continued to dive slowly downward.

He encountered a shark on the way, not very big—just over a meter long. Interested, it swam towards Sean and bared its teeth, intending to bump into him, but Sean took out a large Fish gun from his spatial realm and struck at the shark.

The fish arrow pierced straight through the shark’s body, and the nearby sea turned red with blood.

Taking advantage of the shark’s struggles, Sean continued his descent, moving away from the area.

The seafloor was pitch black; at this depth, light couldn’t penetrate, and even professional divers would turn on their lights, but Sean was an exception.

After descending several tens of meters more and looking up, he saw the shark slowly sinking too. Sean guessed the fish arrow must have pierced its lungs.

Moments later, several large Fish attracted by the scent of blood, arrived and began furiously attacking the shark.

Now, Sean understood that these fish had an incredibly keen sense of smell; they could detect the shark’s blood from such a far distance. Fortunately, he had dealt with the shark, preventing himself from being attacked—not that he was afraid, as he would kill any that came his way, but it would just be a hassle.

He leisurely continued his dive. At 300 meters, Sean felt a significant increase in pressure, but he was still able to bear it quite comfortably.

At this depth, he could see various bioluminescent creatures occasionally appearing, like the hideous anglers that use light to lure their prey.

Although these Fish could be eaten, Sean naturally had no intention of doing so. He dove deeper, the pressure increased, but it didn’t affect his movement.

Sean carefully experienced the sensation, feeling that this pressure, for him now, was akin to the feeling ordinary people have when leisurely diving in a swimming pool—with pressure, but not enough to significantly impact his movements.

Descending slowly, Sean finally arrived next to the submarine canyon.

He didn’t go down immediately, primarily because he noticed something strange—the current inside the canyon was moving!

Although Sean had searched for treasure underwater many times, it was usually in ordinary sea areas and shallow places.

This was his first time treasure hunting in such deep waters—more importantly, he had come down alone in these dark, eerie depths that would make ordinary people uncomfortable.

Underwater life was not plentiful, yet the canyon floor was teeming with life, swimming swiftly along the currents. The bizarre and grotesque creatures gave Sean a eerie feeling!

Sean didn’t linger long. Despite his lack of claustrophobia and the fact that his vision allowed him to see hundreds of meters ahead even in such dark, lightless conditions,

in an environment of water and strange creatures all around, being there alone, no matter how brave Sean was, made him not want to stay any longer than necessary.

He proceeded along the canyon and after walking several tens of meters, he finally came upon the submarine.
