Chapter 1386: Chapter 675: Conjunctivitis is Incurable_2
"What are you laughing at, so happy?" Sean Knight heard the noise and sauntered over. "Oh, eating wild boar? You’d better add more spices, otherwise it’s going to taste terrible!"
"Hey! Boss, you really know your stuff!" The cook gave a thumbs up. "I was just telling them, this thing isn’t as tasty as domestic pig."
"First, the meat’s tough; second, the boar that hasn’t been processed properly has a strong odor," Sean Knight said:
"People who’ve studied abroad know that abroad, pigs aren’t castrated, and they’re killed by electric shock, which doesn’t let the blood drain properly from the meat, making it taste bad."
"That’s exactly it," the cook said with a laugh. "Our country’s culinary habits over thousands of years aren’t cultivated for nothing."
"Then you guys put in the extra effort. The team members working on the warehouse must be exhausted, they need to eat more meat."
"No problem! When it’s time, I’ll make sure they eat happily and to their fill!"
"Boss, about those tusks, do you want them? If not, I’ll take them," a team member who was helping in the kitchen pointed at the set of wild boar tusks placed aside and asked.
"Don’t want them, whoever likes them can take them. There are also bear parts, like gallbladders and paws, whoever wants them can sort it out themselves," Sean Knight said. "If they’re too troublesome to carry, hand them to me, and I’ll help you take them back home."
"Thanks in advance, boss!" The helper was thrilled. Items like these were very cheap in Russia, everything from deer antlers and deer blood to bear gallbladders was much cheaper than back home, but the trouble was transporting them.
Sean Knight offering to help with transporting the items was really great!
Sean Knight arrived at the excavation site, the digging had mostly reached its final stages.
Sean Knight looked around and saw the boxes he’d marked had all been excavated, and now what was being dug up was the equipment originally buried in the soil.
"When this batch of goods is sold, everyone will get a bonus of 10,000 US dollars," Sean Knight announced loudly. "Everyone be careful, don’t cause a collapse!"
Hearing Sean Knight say this, the faces of the team members all broke into smiles.
Actually, Sean Knight didn’t have to give out the bonus. After all, from that million sent out earlier, minus what Elijah Hastings and two others took as their share, these team members still got tens of thousands of dollars.
That was already a high salary.
So in truth, this excavation made the team members happy simply because of the yield.
But Sean Knight announcing a bonus was a pleasant surprise.
Elijah Hastings came over and said:
"Boss, going on like this, it’ll be hard for them to find jobs anywhere else after they return home."
"Paying them more now is to make their future lives a bit easier," Sean Knight said with a smile. "In the past, when they went abroad, they did it for dedication, and the country couldn’t offer them much financial compensation.
Now they’re working for me. If I’m earning more, then it’s only fair they get their share, big or small, of the profits. To put it bluntly, they aren’t working for the country now, so I’ve got to compensate them with real gold and silver for their efforts."
Elijah Hastings nodded and said no more.
Viola listened to this conversation thoughtfully.
At that moment, Sergei made a phone call.
Viola answered and after a brief exchange, she handed the mobile phone to Sean Knight:
"Boss, Sergei says he has important intelligence to report to you."
Sean Knight took the phone, and Sergei whispered on the other end:
"Boss, I’ve got reliable information. That Teluk seems to have had a fallout with Yvonne. He knows you’ve dug up a large quantity of equipment, so he wants to drive down the price."
"Okay, got it," Sean Knight scowled slightly. "Do you know how much he’s trying to undercut? If it’s no more than ten percent, then it’s still within an acceptable range."
"He’s planning to cut one-third," Sergei’s information gathering was indeed impressive, he said:
"He’s confident that you have so much equipment and that no one else could handle that volume, so..."
"I got it," Sean Knight suddenly laughed, "Let’s wait for him to come then. The look on his face is going to be priceless!"
Sergei, hearing the composed tone in Sean Knight’s voice, felt reassured.
After hanging up, Sean Knight thought for a moment, took out his own mobile phone, and dialed someone.
Unexpectedly, the call connected!
Though it was an international call and the signal wasn’t very stable, Sean Knight could still make out from the voice that it was real.
"Robert, you’ve actually shown up!" Sean Knight joked, "I thought you’d hidden yourself away in the Antarctic to avoid worldly affairs."
"If I were to hide, it’d be in the Arctic. The Antarctic has become too lively with your activities; I’d rather not go there," Robert replied jokingly. "I’ve sent the third installment of the payment. Have you received it yet?"
"Got it. By the way, do you know anyone who deals in World War II equipment? I’ve dug up a warehouse here in Russia, filled with a large quantity of standard, brand new World War II equipment, mainly guns."
"Sean, you keep surprising me, do you know that? I just happen to have a client in urgent need of World War II equipment, preferably brand new, and they’re paying a high price—
I’ll send you the details, you can contact them directly. I’ll waive the intermediary fee on this one, consider it a gift from me."
"At least you have some conscience," Sean Knight laughed and hung up. After a while, Robert sent over a link and a phone number.
"Douglas!" Sean Knight checked the link and then called Douglas Cooper over.
