Chapter 1358: Chapter 666 Intense Reflection: Guest Starring as a Digger
Now the child has grown "plump and rosy-cheeked," almost being fed to the point of horizontal expansion.
When undressed, you can see his arms and legs are chunky with rolls of fat, looking exactly like Nezha’s arms and legs fashioned by True Person Taiyi!
"Mom, you can’t keep feeding him like this every day, we need to listen to what the maternity matron and professionals say. He’s too fat now, which is not good for his growth," Sean Knight advised his mother.
"Being chubby is a sign of prosperity!" his mother retorted, but she still put down the baby bottle she was holding. The august empress dowager was almost never out of sight of the child.
As the Chinese say about the special affection between grandparents and grandchildren, it’s often quite evident the majority of the time. The few exceptions are just that, exceptions—after all, China is not yet fully unified, so it’s normal to have some outliers.
Aria Wilson just watched the mother and son argue with a smile. These everyday household matters were almost non-existent in the first eighteen years of her life.
"All right, all right, I’ll stop looking at you, I won’t feed him anymore. I’ll go for a walk with your dad, and when you have some time, you should go out for a stroll too. It’s not good to stay in here all the time."
The child was taken out by his parents, and Sean Knight strolled out with Aria, arm in arm.
"If you have things to do, you should take care of your affairs," Aria noted, clearly sensing that Sean had been a bit different these past few days.
She was very intelligent and had roughly guessed what was on Sean’s mind, saying with a smile:
"The fact that you could spend so much time with me, reassuring and being patient with me, I’m already very happy. If you have things to do, go ahead and do them. I know you are an eagle in the sky, just remember that this is your home."
Sean actually had been growing restless. It had been years since he had spent two or three months in one place, even if he was busy elsewhere. Now, with nothing pressing, he felt quite empty.
Aria’s understanding made him feel a bit ashamed, but he quickly got over it.
Having someone who understands you is a good thing, after all.
In a week, Sean appeared in the land of Canada.
"This place is indeed vast and sparsely populated," Douglas Cooper said, gazing at the forest and shrubbery before him, "I thought Xinjiang was already quite something, but this place... it tops it."
"I remember a professor once said," Sean leaned against the car and looked at the land in front of him, "Canada is the only country in the world that could isolate its borders and industrialize without external support.
This country has an abundance of resources, lacking nothing needed for industrial development..."
"Except for people," Lincoln Harrington chimed in. "Russia has a small demographic base and a large territory, which makes it seem like resources are extremely abundant."
"Yes, its area is nearly twice that of China, but the population is about one-tenth that of China," Elijah Hastings added, "If China had such a vast area of land now, it would definitely be the strongest on Blue Star."
"Enough talk. The target is right ahead; we’ve already scouted it, and it’s a marshland. It will be quite troublesome to dig there," Sean turned to look back.
They had come with six cars this time, four all-terrain vehicles, one modified engineering vehicle, and one big van, along with twenty-one team members.
With these people, securing a large treasure wasn’t impossible.
But in a marshland, that’s another story.
"My plan is to check another place to see if it’s easier to work with. However, that place is near the border; I’m not sure if it’s an armory or a treasure site."
"Considering the current situation, whether it’s an armory or a treasure site, it’s actually quite substantial," Douglas laughed, "Now, due to these two wars, old weapons from World War II are in hot demand. If we get our hands on a World War II-era armory, we could make quite a bit of money."
"Let’s go then."
The team got into their vehicles and left.
In fact, Sean’s Sky Eye had already checked out the marshland ahead; it was an abandoned armory with a large quantity of World War II military equipment and bullets.
But because it was underneath a marsh, the contents were too corroded to salvage. Even if they managed to dig them out, the scrap metal might be sold for some money, but it wouldn’t be worth the effort.
After a long journey, they reached another site by nightfall.
They quickly set up tents in the wilderness, using simple iron wire mesh as a temporary boundary for their campground.
Sean’s trip was considered leisurely, so they were well-prepared. Soon, a bonfire was lit and the smell of food wafted through the air.
Before long, word came from the sentries on the perimeter:
"Report, there’s a Wolf Pack. Permission to open fire?"
"Shoot."
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Shots rang out singly, followed by the howling of wolves echoing through the forest.
Shortly after, the sentries dragged in two wolves.
It was apparent that these creatures were lured by the scent. Unfortunately for them, not only did they fail to capture their prey, but they themselves might become food for others.
"The wolf teeth are mine!" Douglas said with a laugh, "Who wants the ’wolf’s thigh bones’?"
"Me, me!" a team member raised his hand, followed by another.
Watching the team members dismembering the wolf carcasses, Sean just smiled and didn’t join in the action.
In his spatial realm, there were plenty of big cat claws and teeth, so he wasn’t interested in these trinkets.
If there hadn’t been so many team members around, he even thought about maybe offering a few large teeth as a morale booster.
The gunshots scared away the wolves in the distance, and the night was mostly quiet, except for the occasional howls.
It made sense; such a large place with so few people, even now in Europe—Russia’s main ethnic territory—due to the ongoing recruitment for the wars and as winter approached, a low population density was quite normal.
