Chapter 1357: Chapter 665: Became a Dad_3
"Looking back, I never would have imagined when I canceled that engagement, that I’d be living such a free and happy life!"
"Happiness, sure. But your definition of freedom really isn’t that high," Sean Knight chuckled, bent down to tease his daughter in the stroller, and said:
"We’re not quite there yet. Actually, once you have kids, you basically lose half your freedom."
"But this is the life I chose, the life I longed for, this is my freedom."
"Alright, you’re right," faced with Aria Wilson’s pouting and insistence, he quickly betrayed his own opinion, "This kind of freedom really is something most people in the world want but can’t have."
After giving birth, Aria’s face became a little rounder, glowing with maternal radiance, making her even more beautiful in Sean’s eyes.
Their two children had been named, with grand names given by the Old Master, the elder is Sophie Green and the younger Michael Green, and they were registered in the household.
Sean firmly refused Uncle Abdullah’s suggestion to register the kids in the Middle Eastern Kingdom; they are Knight Family’s children, Huaxia Descendants, not foreigners.
And their ethnicity is listed as "Han"!
Uncle Abdullah might have been a bit sullen about it, but the gifts were plentiful; golden Curved Knives, gold and silver tableware, high-end strollers, golden ornaments, toys... the main theme being lavish gold!
What Sean found surprising was that he had even sent over a pair of black leopard cubs!
"Damn it, aren’t these animals under first and second-level state protection? They might be like little kittens needing milk now, with their own caretakers following, but when my kids are half a year old, they might not be able to stand yet, and these two will already be able to eat sheep, right?"
These gifts were brought over by a special plane, forcing Sean to buy another villa just to store these things.
Friends from overseas had all sent gifts, and to Sean’s surprise, even Robert had made a personal visit, bringing gifts worth a million dollars!
That’s quite generous!
"Sean, didn’t you know? Many of the major transactions now, we feel they’re safer in China. After all, here, those people can follow, but they can’t do anything to stop what’s happening."
In a coffee house in Urumqi, Robert leisurely sipped his coffee, explaining the situation to Sean.
"So your visit this time isn’t just to congratulate my children, is it?"
"Of course, of course. That’s the main purpose. There are two secondary reasons." Robert held up two fingers:
"Right now, somebody is interested in the other stock certificate you have, wanting to buy it from you."
"As long as the price is right, I’m, of course, willing to trade," Sean felt that keeping it was like a hot potato; better to get rid of it.
Once it’s gone, the Sharde family will have a clear target—at least those people are definitely targeting the Sharde family, and he can then watch the tigers fight from the mountain.
"I knew you’d be willing," Robert said with a smile, "We’ll talk about the details of the transaction after I meet with them tonight. I’ll be staying here for a while, so we’ll have plenty of time."
"And your third reason for coming?" Sean continued to inquire.
"Of course, it’s to consider the environment here," Robert gestured around, "Thanks to you—or mostly because of you, I’ve made some money. I plan to invest it.
Looking at it now, your country seems safer. So I plan to find a project to invest in here, and I think you can help me with that."
Sean was somewhat surprised.
Investing in China?
That’s good news!
"It depends on which industry you’re looking to invest in," Sean said with a smile, "I do know some people, and when the time comes, I can help you make some connections."
"No rush, no rush," Robert waved his hand, "I’ve just arrived, I haven’t properly surveyed yet, so, let me take a good look around these few days, get to know your country, then we’ll talk."
The second day, Robert asked to meet with Sean again.
"The guys wanting to trade said they don’t have that much gold. But they’ve come up with a rather new way to trade," Robert conveyed their intention to Sean:
"They’ll use a variety of scattered stocks from world-class giants to exchange for the stock certificates you hold. The value is equivalent, though it may depreciate if sold off.
Moreover, they’ve got a few suspected World War II sites where German and Soviet armies might have buried Weapons and Spoils of War. If the transaction is successful, they’ll let you know these locations as an extra treat."
"Okay. As long as the companies they’re giving me aren’t on the verge of bankruptcy, I’m on board with the deal," for Sean, such a trade was naturally welcome.
He held stock certificates, which were of no use to him personally.
Now, being able to exchange them for tradable stocks meant everything was perfect.
If he wanted to keep them, he could; if not, he could just sell them—how convenient!
Of course, what interested him more were those treasure sites.
Wasn’t that stuff more intriguing than a piece of Paper?
The trade went through without a hitch. As the middleman, Robert once again earned a commission he hadn’t even dared to dream of a few years ago.
Calculated in millions.
In dollars.
Looking at the target sites, Sean was slightly disappointed.
There were a total of five sites, two of which were in Ukraine. He obviously couldn’t go there.
Three were in Canada, and one near a war zone, Sean had no plans to visit.
So that left two that he might consider checking out when he had some free time.
Now, Sean was focused on being a hands-on dad. There were people looking after each of the industries, and everyone knew that he didn’t want to be involved, so no one from the industries disturbed him, handling things on their own.
The issues like the bounties caused by the Sharde Group really weren’t worth mentioning in front of those professional armies; some were even counter-attacked several times.
This created an illusion for Sean.
Living low-profile as a stay-at-home dad back home, the world seemed so peaceful!
Of course, he wasn’t aware that the Middle East had been turned upside down; the influx of those Weapons had resulted in the Jewish making slow progress, now deadlocked.
Nor did he know whether they had learned guerrilla warfare or studied the manuals of instructors, but the Qassam Brigades had actually started to put up a good fight!
And so, Sean wondered if perhaps it was time for him to take action again.
Otherwise, he might start putting on weight!
