Chapter 1273: Chapter 637: Accidentally Entering Deep into the Treasure!_3
So, what could these man-made dunes and structures be used for?
Sean Knight was very curious.
However, now was not the time to find out.
He climbed halfway up the dune and began to dig a hole diagonally downwards. Before the sand above had completely collapsed, he quickly took a board from his spatial realm to prop it up.
He dug out a shelter similar to a cat ear cave, enlarging the space within. Sean laid out a mat inside and rested comfortably, waiting for night to fall.
Suddenly, the sound of rustling came from the sand beside him. Sean turned his head and saw a small scorpion emerge. Upon seeing Sean, it immediately raised its stinger in a threatening stance.
Sean chuckled and scooped up the scorpion along with some sand, tossing it outside.
After landing, the scorpion turned and continued to brandish its stinger towards Sean’s direction, but seeing no further movement from him, it scurried away in haste.
This little incident made Sean somewhat happy. He took a bottle of carrot juice out of space and drank it.
The temperature under the sand wasn’t high, allowing Sean ample time to rest.
The sky darkened as the sun slowly set. Sean opened his eyes; it was time to start working.
He crawled out of the sand cave. With Sky Eye activated, he observed the appearance and location of the artificial building under the sand, eventually finding the nearest point to the surface.
By the time he reached that spot, the sky had completely darkened. Sean began to move sand into his spatial realm.
Since the sand was contiguous, it was quickly done. In little more than ten minutes, Sean reached a wall of the artificial structure, now exposed.
With Sky Eye activated, he saw that the wall was a meter thick!
Above the building, there were forty to fifty meters of sand. Even though the point he dug was nearest to the outside, it was still around seventeen to eighteen meters deep.
This sand belonged to a fixed dune. Without Sky Eye, apart from the people who buried this spot, it would be nearly impossible for others to discover the secret within!
Looking through Sky Eye, he was startled. Behind the artificial wall were neatly stacked bags of food!
Wheat, soybeans, rice, and various other grains.
It was unknown how many years the food had been piled up here, but because of the dry environment, it seemed to still be good.
Sean looked around; the warehouse was several thousand square meters, containing at least several hundred thousand tons of food.
Although the food was old, when added up, it was a bounty that even the people in the war-torn regions bullied by this country couldn’t access.
A wall over a meter thick made of concrete might be sturdy, but it couldn’t stop Sean. He took out a piece of sticky explosives, attached it to the wall, secured the blasting cap, connected a fuse, pulled the igniter after setting everything up, and ran away quickly.
"Boom!"
About fifteen seconds later, the explosion occurred, and some sand from above fell down.
Sean approached and saw that he had blown a washbasin-sized, less than twenty-centimeter-deep hole in the wall.
With a hole started, it was easier to proceed; he used the half-baked directional blasting technique he had learned from Elijah Hastings and others, filling the crater with more explosives.
After several repeats, in no more than half an hour, he had created a half-meter-diameter hole in the concrete wall.
Sean didn’t rush inside; he waited outside for a full fifteen minutes. Only when he felt that the airflow at the entrance wasn’t so strong did he crawl in.
The inside still smelled unpleasant, but Sean didn’t care and quickly collected the food.
Why not take it if it’s free?
As he finished collecting everything, he found a single sheet hanging on the wall. It was written in the native language, with inventory records and some words Sean couldn’t understand.
He took pictures of the content, planning to have it checked after getting out.
After emptying all the food, Sean mischievously filled the warehouse with half of the sand he had originally collected, then crawled out.
After exiting, he replaced the remaining collected sand back to its original place.
Covering the concrete wall completely, although it was different from its original look, he thought it probably wouldn’t matter to anyone.
After two days of sunlight, this place would look completely different.
Following the same method, Sean went to the second dune, finding the weakest spot, then started collecting the sand.
The building inside was roughly the same size as the previous one. As Sean nearly finished collecting the sand, he discovered that this place was filled with boxes of weapons.
All the weapons were brand new and unused. But after a glance at these guns, Sean had a fairly good idea of where these items had come from.
Browning handguns, Garand semi-automatic rifles, Thompson submachine guns, M2 heavy machine guns, M1941 Thompson light machine guns, mortars, Bazooka rocket launchers, M1 Type 75mm, M2 Type 105mm howitzers, as well as a large quantity of ammunition!
What surprised Sean was that among the shells, there were specially marked ones—poison gas grenades!
There were not only weapons and ammunition, but also eight open-top Jeeps and a large supply of oil!
Sean estimated that there were at least 5,000 rifles!
More than enough to equip a light division!
Damn it, this is really kind of terrifying!
Sean unhesitatingly collected all the weapons, cars, and oil supplies.
If he didn’t take them, should he leave them to be wasted?
Actually, he had pretty much figured out who left these things behind.
But those people, having left them, probably didn’t think of using them anymore. They were outdated.
After securing all the items, Sean emerged, restored the entrance, and the sand returned to its original place, with the day beginning to brighten.
After being busy for so long, Sean was also a bit tired.
At least three more such dunes were waiting for his exploration.
But he had to wait for nightfall.
He found another spot in the sand, created a slightly larger sand cave using the original method, and crawled inside.
He lay down to rest.
Who knows what might be hidden in the dune beneath him?
