Chapter 1257: Chapter 632: Thunderous Explosion, So Refreshing!_2
"I didn’t see anything!" the security guard said sternly, "This is a private company, no outsiders are allowed in! You guys should leave!"
Among those people, someone leaned in to look inside, but he didn’t see anything.
"What does this person do?" someone asked, pointing at Sean Knight, "Why is there an Asian Descendant here?"
Sean Knight thought to himself that the situation was bad; he had forgotten to change his appearance.
"I’m just here for tourism." By this time, Sean Knight could only show them a map and say, "But now I’m lost."
"Humph! Who knows if you’re a spy or here to cause trouble..." someone whispered.
"Exactly, on social media, these people are not friendly towards us!"
"Don’t make trouble here!" Although there was only one security guard, he didn’t flinch in the face of seven or eight people, "Get lost!"
The group left, cursing and swearing.
Sean Knight hadn’t expected the security guard to actually "protect" him!
He knew that, in all probability, once this was over, the security guard would be fired, so he said:
"Thank you! I know things are chaotic right now, your fair treatment means a lot, I’m truly grateful!"
After he finished speaking, he took out a wad of money from his backpack and handed it over:
"Thank you very much!"
Afterwards, without waiting for the security guard to respond, he quickly left.
The security guard looked at the money, then at the retreating figure of Sean Knight, hesitated for a moment, but ultimately took it.
After Sean Knight left the building, he went to look for the motorcycle he had ridden just now.
But by the time he got to the motorcycle and was about to start it, four people burst out from an alley nearby!
He could tell at a glance that these four were from the group he had just encountered; they had been lying in wait for him!
"Just from looking at you, one can tell you’re not a good person. Hand over the backpack and come with us!" The leader, a burly man nearly 6 feet 3 inches tall with a full beard and dressed in a camouflage uniform devoid of any insignia, pointed a gun at Sean Knight and said.
Sean Knight was speechless.
There are good people here, as well as those damned idiots who don’t know right from wrong.
It had been almost two hours since Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings had separated, and Sean Knight didn’t want to wait any longer. After looking around and seeing no one else, he got off the motorcycle, took off his backpack, and pretended to hand it to one of them.
The leader, seeing how compliant Sean Knight was, let down his guard.
At that moment, Sean Knight suddenly threw the backpack at the leader, and at almost the same time, he spun a sidekick that sent the leader flying!
By the time the other three came to their senses, Sean Knight had already retracted his foot and landed a punch in the stomach of one of them, sending that person straight to the ground!
The other two didn’t manage to escape and were quickly taken down by Sean Knight.
In less than twenty seconds, all four could only lie on the ground, lacking even the energy to cry out in pain.
Sean Knight picked up the backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and also picked up an automatic rifle from the side of the big man. After a moment’s thought, he put on a set of camouflage clothes, then mounted the motorcycle and sped away.
A few minutes later, a few more people came to check out the situation. Upon seeing the four men on the ground, not only did they not help, they went straight to looting the wallets and such from the four.
When Sean Knight arrived at Elijah Hastings and their location, he found they were well hidden. He approached the car and called out.
"Boss, wait a second, we’re going to switch cars," Douglas Cooper whispered, "There’s a household here, nobody’s home, but there’s a nice off-road vehicle in the courtyard. It has local license plates. Switching cars would make things easier for us."
Sean Knight actually thought this was a good suggestion, so he waited for them to carry out the operation.
A few minutes later, an off-road vehicle with local plates drove out of the courtyard. After Sean Knight got in, the car sped off.
"Boss, did everything go smoothly?" Elijah Hastings asked.
"Not bad," Sean Knight nodded, "Got the items. Now it’s up to you guys."
"Is it chaotic in the city?" Douglas Cooper, who was driving, asked while driving.
"Pretty chaotic," Sean Knight recounted the ordeal of escorting those hostile country’s civilians, "It’s not just people from these two countries, but others are also being checked. I ran into some people who were somewhat hostile towards us; I took them down."
He handed the gun to Elijah Hastings and said:
"This is their rifle."
"It’s probably not an army standard issue, must be privately purchased," Elijah Hastings examined the rifle and said, "The rifle is pretty new, and it’s not cheap either."
Sean Knight laughed. Consider it compensation for that person’s rudeness.
It was daytime and the road was busy with cars, and from time to time, there were people sitting in pickup trucks, holding guns, shouting something.
There were even light tanks running on the highway.
Sometimes on the roadside, you could see cars that had been dragged aside because of collisions or other reasons.
There were cars on the highway, and sporadic people on both sides of the road.
As time passed, there were fewer and fewer cars on the road.
It was unclear whether it was because they had reached some special place or because of some special event, but as they continued, there were only oncoming cars; Sean Knight and his convoy rarely encountered any passing them.
"Something’s not right," Elijah Hastings observed the cars quietly, "Those people’s expressions are off."
At that point, a sedan coming from the opposite direction, with a child inside, shouted through the car window:
"They won’t let you through over there, there’s a checkpoint!"
