Chapter 1256: Chapter 632: Thunderous Explosion, Refreshing!

He didn’t know whether this face scanning system required just the face, or if it also needed the eye’s iris—if it was the latter, he would be in some trouble.

Fortunately, after the camera scanned the face of "Pang Du" that Sean Knight was presenting, the blinking light turned green, followed by a "click", and the door opened.

Sean Knight was in high spirits.

Upon opening the door, Sean Knight was struck by the realization that the entire warehouse was actually an entire floor of the building, repurposed!

Apart from some load-bearing columns, the original partition walls had been removed and replaced with shelves or boxes.

They held a variety of cultural relics.

Just as Sean Knight had imagined, the more valuable items were on shelves or under glass covers.

The comparatively bulky ones with lower market prices were mostly in boxes or even just stored on the floor.

Sean Knight saw the Golden Face Mask, a golden dog-headed god statue, and exquisitely crafted scepters.

There were also artifacts from the Sumerian Civilization, like Golden Bull Head Statues, Golden Harp Stands, and Falcon-bodied Statues, among others.

Sean Knight had no time to admire these treasures; he gathered them all up, which took almost an hour.

After he had collected everything, Sean Knight turned around and left without hesitation.

As he left the front gate, the doors closed behind him. He switched into a hoodie and then took the elevator downstairs.

After all, the two security guards hadn’t seen his real face, so there was no need to waste time dealing with the rest.

However, just as he exited the elevator and reached the entrance, he saw a group of people hurriedly running towards him.

There were men and women, adults and children, all carrying bags or bundles.

At first glance, Sean Knight could see they weren’t from his own country, but likely refugees from a nearby settlement point.

As the people grew closer, Sean Knight made a decisive choice in his mind. He bowed his head as his facial features shifted slightly, and when he raised his head again, he bore a genuine Chinese face.

When the people rushed into the building and saw Sean Knight at the entrance,

they immediately halted in their steps.

Sean Knight asked in English,

"Do you need help?"

He took down his hood.

The man leading the group, who had been tense and clutching a dagger, relaxed considerably.

He glanced at the security guard sitting there, appearing to be asleep.

"I knocked him out," Sean Knight explained.

"What people are you? China? Japan? Korea?" the man queried.

"Chinese," Sean Knight replied.

The man visibly relaxed and let out a sigh of relief.

"We need help. Can we hide here?"

Sean Knight knew that in the entire building, there would occasionally be people on the lower floors, but above the sixth floor, there were seldom any residents—this was at the request of the Davena family—in fact, the whole building was the property of the Davena family.

However, few people visited.

"You can go above the seventh floor. There’s no one there. There are two guards on the sixth floor, but if you plan to stay longer, it’s best to keep quiet," Sean Knight suggested, pointing upstairs,

"This place is usually empty. If you have enough food, you can stay for a while, but don’t turn on the lights at night and don’t make any noise during the day."

"That’s great!" the man exclaimed.

"But we don’t have enough food..." another woman hesitated and said.

"Hold on," the man said, "If we were elsewhere, there’s a good chance we’d be caught and killed!"

"Come on, I’ll take you up," Sean Knight said, turning around, "There’s some stored food upstairs, if you don’t mind..."

"We don’t mind, not at all!" the man quickly responded.

Sean Knight led them to the elevator and went straight to the ninth floor.

Three floors above the sixth floor, any noise they made would not be easily heard.

There were many rooms on the ninth floor, mostly offices, but they were also suitable for housing people.

After bringing these people in, Sean Knight went to the innermost room, unlocked the door, and transferred a bunch of convenience foods and water from the spatial realm into the room, then came out and said to the middle-aged man,

"Come here."

The middle-aged man hurried over.

"You can use the food here, but remember, no noise," Sean Knight urged.

The middle-aged man’s eyes instantly brightened at the sight of the food, and his expression showed great excitement,

"Thank you so much!"

"All right, you all stay here. I’m leaving," Sean Knight said, "You should keep an eye on the situation at all times. If things calm down, leave here as soon as possible."

The middle-aged man certainly understood.

When Sean Knight returned downstairs, the security guard was still "sleeping."

Feeling satisfied, he left the building.

At that moment, a group of locals started running towards the building!

Sean Knight thought, This is bad!

He immediately turned back, went to the security guard, took out a small bottle, and sprayed the guard’s face.

The guard soon shook his head and looked up.

As the guard was coming to his senses, Sean Knight pulled out a map and asked,

"Excuse me, how do I get to this place?"

The guard hadn’t completely recovered when the group of people bore down on them, prompting the guard to tell Sean Knight to wait and to yell at the newcomers with his baton raised,

"What are you doing?"

"A group of people from a hostile country has come this way; we’re tracking them!" the chasers said, some holding rifles and others clutching machetes and sticks, their faces twisted into ferocious expressions.
