Chapter 1233: Chapter 624: Could There Really Be An Ancient Civilization?_2

After collecting nearly a hundred pieces of war gear, Sean Knight’s attention was immediately drawn to the items in the neighboring room.

The items on display here were much more opulent.

Gold armguards inlaid with gemstones, wide scorpion-shaped bracelets, a whole box of gemstone rings with gold bases, gold chokers with patterns, and necklaces with a simple antique design, and so on.

The items weren’t large, but each one could likely make those who collected antique jewelry scream with excitement.

Having collected these items, Sean continued forward.

Ahead, in a "room," Sean felt somewhat disappointed.

This place also had dozens of stone platforms, which held copper basins, copper plates, bowls, and the like.

Each contained food—yes, food from a few thousand years ago, though now it had turned to ash, with some barely retaining their original shapes, and others left with only a stain.

Although Sean wanted to leave these items for archaeologists, he realized that Maramart’s people would be the first to enter and seeing such things, it would be fortunate if they didn’t destroy them, let alone leave them for archaeological personnel.

Sean didn’t linger; he collected these utensils and then continued on to the next spatial realm.

In the next space, the items were much more crowded—primarily consisting of pieces of furniture.

Or rather, this was a deluxe room in itself—three to four hundred square meters large, fully furnished in the manner of a home.

There was a living room, a bedroom, and so forth. The "decor" was entirely in Ancient Egyptian style, but the functions were somewhat similar to those of modern people.

The furniture included wooden and copper pieces, although the wooden furniture was only preserved in shape. Through Sean’s Sky Eye, these wooden pieces were already completely decayed.

Let’s collect them.

After collecting the furniture, Sean proceeded to the largest space.

With just one glance, Sean knew this place must serve as a court—or perhaps a palace council chamber.

Modelled entirely after an ancient main hall, there were warrior statues the size of ordinary people on both sides, each holding weaponry, with a row of seated ministers in the middle—also statues.

The warrior statues were made of stone, the ministers’ of bronze, and at the most prominent location, atop a golden throne, sat a gold statue wearing a golden mask, again lifesize.

Two maid-servants stood at attention on either side, transformed into bronze statues—these statues conveyed a strict hierarchy.

Sean didn’t miss a single one, collecting them all.

He had thought this would be the end, but to his surprise, there was more as he moved forward!

The following areas were a bit more special, with a space supported by stone pillars, revealing three different styles—

To the far left was still a statue of Ra, but in front of the statue, people were kneeling—these were three mummies, made from real people.

In the middle was a large tripod—a bronze cauldron from China, to Sean’s astonishment!

How could such an item be here!

This cauldron wasn’t square but rather a round, lidded type. Through the Sky Eye, Sean saw some medicinal residue inside; it originally might have been round but had disintegrated over the long passage of time.

Damn it, were they practicing alchemy here?

In front of the tripod lay the skeletons of two people. These were no longer mummies but actual humans, who, by the look of their bones, seemed to have been fairly young.

To the right was a statue of the God Osiris—the ruler of the underworld in ancient Egypt.

Beneath this too were three mummies!

Sean was a bit bewildered, but he didn’t pause—all the items were collected, and then he moved to the back.

The back housed an especially large tomb chamber.

Beyond that, there was no more—finally, the end was reached.

Sean even felt a sense of relief.

Looking further down, it was difficult to say what could be encountered next.

He faintly felt that the original master who had created this underground space might have been contemplating immortality, and that was why they fashioned this underground realm to mimic the surface!

So, could this tomb chamber possibly hold the original master?

Compared to the previous grandeur, this tomb chamber seemed quite cramped—actually, it wasn’t cramped, the space was almost as large as the main hall.

But there were too many items arranged inside.

The items in the display rooms Sean had previously seen were already quite numerous, rich, and high-end.

But compared to the items in this tomb chamber, those seemed insignificant indeed!

The arrangement of items inside the tomb chamber wasn’t messy; for example, at the very back was a stone coffin. Considering it as a center point, descending the stairs on either side, the left held weaponry—over a hundred pieces of golden and bronze weaponry, all brand new and unused, all in ordinary human size. Sean didn’t leave a single one, collecting all of them.

To the right were armors and guards, the simplest of which were bronze with patterns, and though there were fewer gold pieces, the smaller ones made up for it.

After collecting these guards, moving forward revealed a high stack of various bronze, gold, and silver utensils—plates, bowls, pots, spoons, and so on, in endless variety.

These items all had an artistic flair, adorned with gemstones of all sizes; any one of them could enter a museum and be listed as a treasure, but here they were piled together like common goods from a ten-dollar store.

Was this tomb chamber being used as a warehouse?

After collecting these items, what followed were several upright mummy coffins—dozens of them!

Were these living people buried as attendants, planning to continue having these individuals serve in the underground?
