Chapter 1133: Chapter 590: Never Go Easy on Such a One!_3

Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings took the opportunity to fire in short bursts, driving away the monkeys in front and quickly dashed onto the high platform.

The monkeys gathered around, Elijah Hastings put down his backpack, and Sean Knight was changing magazines, then they started shooting!

Frighted, the monkeys retreated below the platform. They neither left nor dared to advance.

Just then, a roaring sound came from afar once again, but after only about ten seconds, two large American lions came trotting to the base of the platform!

Seeing these jungle overlords arriving, monkeys made way. One slower monkey got its throat bitten off by one of the American lions and was thrown onto the ground.

The other monkeys squealed in chaos, but not a single one dared to seek revenge.

The two American lions looked up at Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings on the platform. One of them paced around the base and then rapidly leapt up!

The other wasn’t polite either, circling around to another side before leaping upward as well!

Both American lions were smart. They didn’t ascend straight up but ran in a zigzag pattern to evade any potential attacks!

However, in front of Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings, those lions really weren’t a match.

"Let’s shoot. We don’t know what’s behind us; we can’t linger," Sean Knight said, "You take one, and I’ll take the other."

"Bang, bang!" Two shots and the two formidable lions fell to the ground.

The group of monkeys retreated several meters in fear but still did not leave!

Such lions fell easily to bullets!

Seeing that there was no immediate danger, Sean Knight examined the square stone house on the high platform.

The house was about two meters high with a side length of three meters. There appeared to be a door on the south side, which had been blocked by rocks.

The signs didn’t look recent.

Sean Knight felt a sudden urge, pulled out his hooked blade, and started prying a rock at chest height.

Sure enough, though the rocks were stuck together with something, the strength was not as good as cement, so they were easily pried apart.

The rocks were about twenty centimeters thick, and soon Sean Knight managed to pry a piece off.

Instantly, a musty smell poured out from inside.

Peering with Sky Eye, there were no items placed inside, just an entrance on the ground leading downward, followed by layers upon layers of stone steps.

At this moment, Elijah Hastings suddenly gave a warning:

"Boss, be careful! Scorpions are coming up!"

Damn it!

Sean Knight hadn’t expected these indigenous people to be so formidable, even able to summon scorpions!

If they’re so powerful, why stay here? Isn’t it better to leave?

That’s what he thought, but Sean Knight knew he couldn’t wait any longer. He reached into his spatial realm backpack and pulled out a package of medicine powder, saying:

"Good thing I came prepared!" After saying that, he sprinkled the powder on top of the high platform!

Especially around the square house, he scattered a lot more!

"This is a special antiscolic powder prepared by someone back home," Sean Knight explained to Elijah Hastings while scattering it. "It’s effective against scorpions, spiders, ants, and the like."

Sure enough, when the scorpions climbed up the platform, they hesitated to move forward.

That’s when Sean Knight saw there was more than one type of scorpion. The first ones up were the palm-sized black scorpions, looking quite formidable.

After them, those semi-transparent yellow scorpions squeezed in, smaller in size, just two or three centimeters long.

The black scorpions, unable to push through, became agitated, occasionally seizing a small yellow scorpion to eat!

"Watch me!" Elijah Hastings was restless too. He pulled out an incendiary bomb from his backpack, removed the safety pin, and threw it at the scorpions!

"Boom—!"

A burst of flames suddenly engulfed hundreds of scorpions. Then, a strange odor spread.

Monkeys from afar scrambled up trees, and the bodies of the two American lions were swarmed by scorpions.

Then, as if sensing a natural predator, those scorpions stopped minding to stay, and the seemingly overwhelming swarm scattered instantly, parting a wide path, before the scorpions retreated!

"Damn it, there really are ants!" Elijah Hastings exclaimed, eyes wide!

He had encountered them once before in the jungle, chased all over by ants, and here they were again!

"Don’t worry, these ants can’t get up here." Sean Knight had experimented before; the antiscolic powder was effective against ants too.

Indeed, the ants stopped at the edge of the platform, their antennas waving incessantly, but they dared not move forward.

Seeing that they could not get up, the ants nearby began their instinctive action—nearby scorpions, the fallen American lions, and those monkeys up in the trees all made their food list!

A massacre unfolded.

"Boss, this is bad!" Elijah Hastings suddenly warned, "These ants are using tactics!"

Sean Knight looked down and indeed, the ants were carrying soil and throwing it onto the medicine powder.

Quickly, a spread of medicine powder was covered by soil the ants had brought over.

The ants advanced a small step.

"Damn it, they’re persistent!" Sean Knight looked up, sensing dark shadows in the trees from a distance. Those were not monkeys but those damn indigenous people!

What should they do?

It was apparent that those indigenous people also feared the ants, but it was unknown how they managed to summon these creatures.

Elijah Hastings threw another incendiary bomb, clearing a large area of ants in front of them.

But then the ants from behind quickly replenished their numbers!

And now ants were coming from all sides—the collapsed sections of the high platform could ward off monkeys, but not ants!

Sean Knight used up the last of the medicine powder, momentarily holding back the ants, but knew it wasn’t a long-term solution.

He looked around, thinking of a way to leave.

A monkey slipped and fell from a tree, hurrying to run away. But it didn’t get far before it screamed in pain, fell to the ground, and soon turned into a pile of white bones!

The same was happening to the two American lions!

Sean Knight knew they had to make a decision soon, or it would be too late.

He suddenly looked at the square stone house, then said to Elijah Hastings:

"Let’s go, we’re going in!"
