Chapter 1075: Chapter 571 Has This Been Blessed by the God of Wealth?_2

Sean Knight pointed to the square room on the other side of the pyramid that he hadn’t yet explored.

However, by now the room was almost entirely buried, with only the top remaining.

Another windsand storm was quickly levelling it.

"Inside here..."

"Below this is a room for guarding the pyramid, or it might be a burial chamber. It’s like the burial pits for attendants in the ancient tombs back in China."

Sean Knight was bluffing with these words.

He didn’t actually know, but he was sure there were valuable items inside.

"Then what are we waiting for? Dig!" Douglas Cooper picked up a short shovel and started to dig.

The four of them worked together and quickly dug a large hollow place at the entrance of the stone house.

The door of this square stone house was shut, and by the time Sean Knight and his team had finished clearing away the sand from the entrance, noon had arrived.

"Boss, let’s eat and then go inside," Lincoln Harrington suggested.

"Alright." Sean Knight was also drenched in sweat, so he simply left, found a shady spot under a wall, and began to eat the hot food that the team members had brought.

"Rice, Potato Beef Stew, stir-fried meat with cauliflower, Seaweed Egg Drop Soup..."

Elijah Hastings scooped up a large serving of rice onto his dinner plate, then ladled a thick layer of Potato Beef Stew sauce on top, stirred it, and finally topped it with a spoonful of stir-fried meat with cauliflower.

After fixing his plate, he found a spot to sit down and began to eat, talking as he did:

"This meal reminds me of our tactical training days, the lunch we had at the training field.

Back then, after training, covered in mud with no time or chance to wash, too exhausted and without the conditions to do so, the happiest moment was eating.

The cooking class would deliver food just like this, and I liked to mix the rice and vegetables together—it was quick to eat and tasty. After eating, you could take a half-hour nap on the grassland—it felt incredibly comfortable..."

"I had a similar experience! But our meals back then weren’t in the open field—they had a canteen at the training field, so eating was more formal—although I don’t think it was as interesting as yours," Douglas chimed in.

Lincoln Harrington didn’t speak.

Sean Knight also didn’t speak. He followed Elijah’s method and poured the gravy from the vegetable dish directly onto his rice before sitting on the stone slab to begin eating.

I must say, it was indeed quite flavorful.

After finishing their food, the team members took the dinner plates away, and Sean Knight and the crew rested there.

There was a breeze blowing through, and it was fairly cool in the shade.

Every now and then, a team member armed with a flamethrower would patrol past.

Although the threat was no longer present, Christopher Morgan remained vigilant. He did not want to experience another ambush.

Sean Knight and his companions rested there until the afternoon. When it was no longer so hot outside, Sean Knight got up and went into the previously dug hollow place.

By then, a significant amount of sand had fallen into the bottom of the hollow place.

Looking at the stone door of the stone house, Sean Knight realized it had been locked from the inside.

But that didn’t deter him. With the help of Sky Eye, he quickly picked the mechanism with a thin knife and pushed open the stone door.

"You guys clear away some of the sand outside, don’t let it bury me when I come out," Sean Knight said to Elijah and the others as he walked into the stone house, "Oh, and this time I might be in there a bit longer, so don’t worry."

Watching Sean go in, Douglas muttered under his breath:

"Not bringing us along again... I’m starting to wonder if we’re even bodyguards anymore..."

"Him not bringing us is for our own good. Of course, the boss decides his own affairs, don’t overthink it," Elijah said, "Alright, let’s clear the sand. Douglas, go find two cars to come over. We’ll haul away the cleared sand, otherwise, a lot will fall back into the hole later."

Sean Knight walked into the stone chamber.

He did not need a lamp, but he could see clearly. In the center of the stone chamber was a two-meter-tall obsidian statue.

The statue had the head of a gazelle and the body of a woman, with long, distinct horns on its head.

Sean Knight looked at it and then collected it along with the pedestal into his spatial realm.

Just like the room he had previously explored, stairs leading downward were revealed.

Sean carefully descended the stairs.

What surprised him was that these stairs weren’t as elaborate as the previous ones and directly led down to the bottom.

On both sides of the corridor, the stone slabs were carved with numerous reliefs.

But every relief included an image of Anubis.

Sean found this strange but soon let it go.

At the end of the corridor, he came upon two tightly shut stone doors.

Given the ambush he had seen before, Sky Eye had been activated continuously.

Then he saw that behind the stone doors, there was a massive room.

Sean could feel that the direction of the room was exactly opposite to that of the pyramid, located right underneath a room somewhere within the city.

However, it was at least thirty to forty meters below ground, which should not cause any disturbance.

The stone doors were extremely heavy, and it took all of Sean’s might to open them.

Before opening them, he had already put on a protective suit—a fully enclosed type with an attached oxygen cylinder.

Because in the view of Sky Eye, the massive room was filled with poisonous gas—just one sniff upon opening could instantly be fatal!

Pushing open the door, Sean distinctly felt as if someone had "pushed" him.

Then in his Sky Eye, the gases surged upwards!

Sean panicked, knowing that Elijah and the others were still above!

He immediately turned to run out, but after a few steps, he stopped.

He could see that the visibly faint yellowish toxic gas hadn’t risen very far, stopping about five meters below the underground lobby, and did not continue upwards.
