Chapter 1076: 571

Sean Knight immediately understood that the gas must be much heavier than air. Otherwise, it would have risen by now.

It was precisely because of this that it was able to stay here, causing anyone who entered to inhale the poison—ancient people probably never imagined that humans could have equipment that allowed them to breathe without relying on the outside air, right?

Seeing that the poison gas was no longer churning, Sean Knight walked into the main hall.

The hall was as big as a football field.

It was five or six meters high—with huge stone pillars erected at intervals, serving a load-bearing function.

There was a road in the middle of the hall, and on both sides were golden statues.

These statues were mostly of creatures with animal heads and human bodies, such as eagles, horses, bulls, cats, snakes, and so on.

Sean Knight roughly counted, and there were a total of fifty statues!

What was somewhat surprising to Sean Knight was that these statues were all made of pure gold!

My goodness!

Each statue must weigh at least several tons!

The treasures obtained in the other secret chamber had already surprised Sean Knight.

Those items, if sold off gradually, were probably worth tens of billions of dollars.

Even just selling the gold would amount to several billions.

And now this side seemed even more extravagant!

Did this tribe of ancient Egyptians fleeing calamity take all of ancient Egypt’s wealth with them?

Or did they find a huge gold mine after they arrived here?

This was beyond what Sean Knight could guess.

After all, it was too long ago.

He who takes from Heaven shall suffer the consequences!

Without any politeness, Sean Knight reached out and collected each one of the statues into his spatial realm.

Such extravagance!

Who could have thought, that a decrepit ancient city ruin could hide so much wealth?

Sean Knight kept collecting until he reached the very back of the room, where he saw a stone platform.

The stone platform was about four meters long on each side, with three tiers, each one and a half meters high.

On the uppermost layer of the platform stood a huge square stone with a golden plate on it.

In the golden plate was a basketball-size crystal ball.

To Sean Knight’s surprise, there seemed to be a package of water—or rather, colorless liquid—inside the crystal ball.

Under the Sky Eye, this liquid emitted all kinds of light, but when looked at closely, it was colorless.

It contained a peaceful energy, an immeasurable amount.

Unable to resist, Sean Knight jumped onto the platform and held the crystal ball in his hands.

It was not heavy, wasn’t cool to the touch, and even felt somewhat warm.

Sean Knight knew this must be the most important treasure in this spatial realm.

He collected the crystal ball and the golden plate and looked around. Finding nothing else worth taking, he jumped down from the stone platform and headed back.

He didn’t take off his protective gear until he reached the outermost stone house.

He could hear Elijah Hastings and the others outside clearing away the sand.

It’s fine!

Sean Knight went outside.

Elijah Hastings and the others had already cleared a larger space at the entrance of the stone house and had carved out stairs leading up.

Seeing Sean Knight emerge, Elijah Hastings and his team were very happy.

"Boss, how was it? Dangerous inside?"

"Quite dangerous," said Sean Knight, "there’s poison gas there. If you want to go down for cleaning, you have to wear fully sealed gas masks.

However, there’s nothing good inside. It’s best to seal the entrance, so no one goes in."

"Then let’s close the door and mark it," Elijah Hastings stopped what he was doing, "I’ll inform Christopher Morgan so that if someone comes cleaning up to here, they won’t run in and cause trouble."

Back at the campground, Sean Knight looked at the boxes of harvest being brought in—although his own harvest was so substantial that he was no longer too excited.

But the uniquely shaped and exquisitely designed items still made him curiously observe them for quite a while.

In the next few days, Sean Knight didn’t lift a finger.

Even without his presence, the team members, adept at soil work, had found out all the secret chambers in those rooms.

When the cleaning work was nearing its end, it was already half a month later.

And the harvest unearthed by the team members filled thirty-seven big boxes!

If it wasn’t for the fact that they had used up so much equipment fighting off snakes and insects earlier, they might not even have had enough boxes to carry the items!

At first, the team members were curious and excited, but by the end, they had practically become numb to it.

After all, they had seen so much that even beautiful women wouldn’t excite them much anymore.

"Finally about to go back. If we don’t go back soon, we’ll practically become Africans," Douglas Cooper complained while eating.

Just then, a sentry suddenly ran over to report:

"Boss, in the distance, from the direction we came, three off-road vehicles are approaching!"

Someone was coming?

Who could they be?
