Chapter 1067: Chapter 568: Coming to Dig for Treasures So Arrogantly?_3

Some people were eager to go down, while others stopped them; ultimately, it seemed they reached an agreement and began eating dry food near the tents.

Half an hour later, two people stayed outside on guard while the others entered the cave one after another.

This side, with four people, watched the others through telescopes—Sean Knight felt that they were actually quite cruel, essentially watching how the others were dying.

About ten minutes after the five people entered, the two standing guard outside seemed to have heard something and also ran to the cave entrance.

Then, those two ran away frantically from the cave entrance, passing by the tents. One of them hesitated briefly, grabbing a backpack, while the other didn’t even bother with his backpack and just ran!

Next, a person emerged from the cave entrance and ran out frantically, but eventually stopped, staggering, and finally collapsed to the ground.

After him, a cloud of dark crows burst out of the cave entrance and rapidly spread towards the two fleeing people—flying serpents!

The flying serpents moved at incredible speed. The two men ran faster than the serpents on the sand at first, but they quickly became exhausted and slowed down, then, not far from the city wall, the flying serpents caught up to them.

The flying serpents enveloped the two men, looking like a cocoon with countless tentacles—utterly disgusting!

After seven or eight minutes, when the flying serpents gradually retreated, only the clothes and some bones of the two men were left.

When they looked again, the last person who had run out was also reduced to just some bones.

"Damn exhilarating!" Douglas Cooper blurted out, "These snakes—really formidable indeed!"

"That’s why just a few of us definitely won’t do," Sean Knight put away his telescope, "We need to wait for the main force to come, a meticulous plan is necessary!"

"We draw the snakes out of the cave and burn them to death outside!" Elijah Hastings said seriously. "We must clear these creatures out before we can go in."

The four inside had surely become food for the snakes, and it was unknown how many poisonous snakes were still below!

"Alright, let’s not talk too much now, a sandstorm is coming, and we need to reinforce the tents to get ready," Sean Knight looked at the sky, adding, "This sandstorm looks like it won’t be small!"

Everyone was experienced and immediately began to take action.

As soon as Sean Knight and his team had reinforced the tents and positioned the cars to act as shields, the sandstorm hit.

The sandstorm was incredibly fierce, starting with a thick dust cloud that blotted out the sky, making it impossible to see one’s hand when extended.

The tents felt like they were almost being blown away into the sky.

Fortunately, the tents were well secured, bolstered with mounds of soil, and of high quality, barely managing to withstand the sandstorm.

After a few hours, when night fell, the sandstorm finally died down.

However, on the windward side of the tents, sand had piled up all the way to the top.

Coming out of the tents, Sean Knight and his team looked up at the stars, realizing just how pure the sky was after the dust passed.

Few people simply cleared the sand away from the tents, had dinner, and then lay on the mounds, stargazing.

"Boss, do you think those scorpions could be buried by the wind and dust?" Douglas suddenly asked.

"They shouldn’t be," Sean shook his head, "If they were that easy to kill, they couldn’t have survived for hundreds of years. They must have their own ways to survive—don’t forget, here, they are the masters."

"Right," Douglas sighed, "It would save us a lot of trouble if we could take care of them."

"No problem, once our people and equipment arrive in a couple of days, no matter how many poisonous creatures there are, we won’t be afraid!" Elijah joined in with a laugh, "Anything that comes will meet its end."

The second day, Sean Knight and his people explored the ancient city and found the scorpion caves were still there; at the entrances, many scorpions were clearing soil, clearly also busy.

The ancient city’s remains were once again covered in thick layers of sand, and the skeletons from yesterday had vanished without a trace.

This included the position of the money bank that Sean and his team had previously excavated; it was now covered in sand again, with no signs of previous digging.

"Damn, all that work for nothing!" Douglas sighed, "We have to do it all over again!"

"Stop digging, those poisonous snakes and insects are probably clearing sand. If we make noise, they’ll detect us immediately. Better wait for reinforcements," Sean said.

Everyone agreed with Sean’s words. With a solid plan, there was no need to take risks, and it didn’t matter for just another day or two.

On the third day, a grand convoy arrived.

One hundred and twenty security personnel descended from the vehicles, each armed with an iron shovel, and many equipment-laden cars followed.

"Everyone rest for now; the main task today is to finalize a detailed plan—tomorrow we begin clearing. We will concurrently search for the treasure in the ancient city and eradicate the poisonous snakes and insects here."

Sean Knight delegated tasks to the reporting director and explained the situation of the area.

"Boss, we have brought specialized insecticides for killing poisonous insects, flame throwers, incendiary bombs, and various other equipment. Everyone just needs to familiarize themselves this afternoon, and we can start operating tomorrow!"

"That’s great!" Sean Knight was full of confidence in his team.

Who could be more reliable than these professionally trained individuals with such a high level of organization?

The following day, after the team assembled, the director clarified their tasks and asked Sean Knight to speak.

"Comrades, without further ado, conditions here are harsh and dangerous because of the poisonous insects and snakes, so during this work phase, we will implement a fivefold wage system!

Every day worked here is worth five times the wages earned at the oil field! Exceptional performers will receive additional rewards!"

Upon hearing this, everyone’s eyes lit up!

Such an approachable boss!

With such a boss, how could they not give their all?

What else were they out here for if not to earn more money?

Now that the boss was offering so much, they were ready to work their hardest!
