Four people took their positions at the corners, beginning to clear the items inside.

"Stop!" Sean Knight suddenly raised his hand with a grave expression and asked,

"Did you guys hear that noise?"

"Noise?" Douglas stopped walking and listened carefully, "I don’t hear anything!"

Elijah Hastings and Lincoln Harrington listened as well, both shaking their heads.

When Sean Knight listened again, he realized that the subtle noise he had heard just now had disappeared.

Looking down into the cave, he saw it was indeed just a simple secret chamber. Although there were several big locks, it didn’t seem to hold any danger.

The chamber did have plenty of items.

He nodded and said,

"Maybe I heard wrong. Go down, and let’s be quick about it."

"Boss, you’re not coming down?" Lincoln Harrington asked, a few steps down.

"I’ll stay up here; I have a feeling there is danger," Sean Knight shook his head, "You guys be quick too, this place is a little eerie."

"Alright." Elijah Hastings was the last one down, "We’ll be up quickly."

Sean Knight watched them go down and start to break the locks of the secret chamber, then he simply jumped onto the half wall and looked around.

However, he saw no danger.

So, what was that intuition all about?

Sean Knight jumped down and looked towards the city gate entrance, noticing that the scorpions didn’t seem to be coming out either.

It must have been a misperception, right?

Minutes later, Douglas emerged carrying a very heavy box. He placed the box at Sean Knight’s feet and excitedly said,

"Boss, we’ve struck it rich! There are over ten boxes of gold and silver coins down there!"

"That really is a windfall! Move them quickly!" Sean Knight said, laughing, "This trip has paid off for us!"

Next, Elijah Hastings and Lincoln Harrington each carried a box up.

Just as they were moving a second box, Sean Knight suddenly heard those strange sounds again, and this time they were much louder!

Sean Knight immediately jumped onto the wall again and looked around.

With that one glance, Sean Knight went pale with shock, and he immediately shouted,

"Quickly, get up here! There’s danger! We need to get out of here!"

Elijah Hastings, who had just come up, quickly asked,

"Boss, what’s going on?"

"Snakes! Beetles! And scorpions! Countless, they are all crowding around!"

Elijah jumped onto the wall and upon seeing the scene, was also horrified!

From the directions of the city’s South Gate, West Gate, and North Gate, swarms of dark, crow-like creatures were streaming in. Upon closer inspection, they were all poisonous insects and snakes!

These creatures were moving incredibly fast and there were a huge number of them, spreading like a black tide over the ruin site, soon covering most of the city!
