Chapter 1062: 567

Sean Knight walked out of the city ruins, and the entrance here also featured two gigantic statues. Likely because it was facing the prevailing wind, the upper bodies of the statues had completely vanished, leaving only the lower halves, which were indistinguishable as to which god they depicted.

However, considering that on the other side of the entrance, Anubis was used as a guardian beast, the two statues here must also be significant.

This was what Sean Knight thought.

Turning a corner, Sean Knight noticed that not far from this entrance, there was a rather large area without sand. On this plot of land were numerous caves of varying sizes. From a distance, Sean Knight activated his Sky Eye and saw that these caves housed swarms of scorpions!

There were black ones and yellow ones, all seemingly asleep, motionless.

After considering his options, Sean Knight picked up a rock and tossed it into that area.

The moment the rock hit the ground, the scorpions all stirred at once and then quickly swarmed towards the rock!

Sean Knight immediately took a detour and ran away.

This was trouble he did not want to stir up!

The scorpions ranged in size, some as large as palms, others as small as fingernails, and they did not fight among themselves, presenting a united front against outsiders.

If a person were to be surrounded in there, it would be very difficult to get out.

Feeling the joy of a successful venture, Sean Knight crossed the Quicksand Belt and went back to the car.

The sun had already reached its zenith, and Elijah Hastings and the others had all gotten up.

Seeing Sean Knight return, Elijah Hastings stepped forward and asked,

"Boss, are you alright? What’s it like over there? I saw that it was surrounded by sand, almost like the outline of a city!"

"Indeed, it’s a city ruin," Sean Knight took a drink from the Water Bottle Lincoln Harrington passed to him and said, "I can roughly confirm that it’s the Destination Crown Prince Abdullah showed us."

"Really?" Douglas Cooper leaned in, his eyes shining as he asked, "Is there anything inside?"

"There is," Sean Knight nodded affirmatively, "This ancient city was probably destroyed by a severe windsand. None of the people inside managed to escape, so there are many places worth excavating.

I just went in and took a look and found a place similar to an ancient bank, or the treasury of this city, which should have quite a few treasures!"

"That’s great!" Douglas Cooper became even more excited, "At last, we need not wander around this desert aimlessly!"

"Once the sun goes down a bit and it’s not so hot, we’ll head over," Sean Knight said, putting down the Water Bottle, "But there’s something odd about this place.

Some adventurers have been here, but they didn’t make it out and turned into mummies. There are also many dangerous spots around the periphery of the city, like quicksand and swarms of scorpions."

"Yuck—!" Elijah Hastings grimaced upon hearing about the swarms of scorpions, "Then we must stay far away. Oh right, we should bring the insecticide later!"

Three hours later, as the sun began to set, each person packed their backpack, and they drove towards the city ruins.

Following Sean Knight’s instructions, they bypassed the quicksand, taking the entrance Sean Knight had initially entered through.

He didn’t want to lead everyone through the scorpions. If they stirred up the swarm, there would be no need to search for treasure, but to flee for their lives.

"What strange statues!" Douglas Cooper said, looking in awe at the Anubis statue.

"This is an ancient Egyptian statue of the Death God," Lincoln Harrington, who was a bit more knowledgeable, informed him.

"Placing a statue of the Death God at the entrance, that’s really bizarre!"

"Let’s go," Sean Knight, shouldering his backpack, headed inside, "We have a lot of work to do."

This time he led the way, not taking the main road, but diagonally cutting through the remnants of the buildings, aiming to head directly to the bank.

After walking two to three hundred meters, Douglas Cooper’s voice rang out excitedly from behind:

"Hey, there’s good stuff here!"

The group stopped, and Sean Knight turned around to see Douglas Cooper bending over to pick up a dagger with an exquisite gold handle.

"You’ve got quite the luck, brother!" Elijah Hastings said, laughing.

"That’s right!" Douglas Cooper wiped the dagger clean, noticed it was inlaid with gemstones, realized its value wasn’t low, and then walked over to hand it to Sean Knight.

"Boss, for you!"

"No need. Finder’s keepers," Sean Knight waved it off, "There should be plenty of similar items in this city. If an ordinary household has such items, think about what the wealthy homes might have... We’ve got a few days’ worth of work here!"

"I really like this kind of work!" Douglas Cooper pocketed the dagger, chuckling.

The four reached the place Sean Knight had surmised to be the bank.

There was already evidence of initial excavation.

"Check this out," Sean Knight took out his Folding spade, dug a few more times beside the broken wall that was already halftime excavated, and then unearthed a black wooden box.

No one knew what kind of Wood it was, having been buried in the sand for so many years, the Wood was nearly rotten away.

Sean Knight used the shovel to pry it a couple of times, and the box cracked open, spilling out many Silver Coins like water!

The Silver Coins had blackened from oxidation but each one there was experienced enough to see that the coins were of good quality.

Unlike the golden coins Sean Knight had found earlier, these Silver Coins even bore images of faces.

Although they looked crude, they were at least present!

"Boss, that’s impressive!" Douglas Cooper exclaimed, "This box must hold five or six hundred coins, doesn’t it?"

"There should be plenty more underneath," Sean Knight stated, "But it will take some work, we need to clean up carefully."

"Worried about work when there’s money to be made?" Elijah Hastings laughed, "Come on, brothers, let’s get to work!"
