Chapter 1042: Chapter 560: The Wolf Clan is Coming!_2
The crevices in that brick wall surely couldn’t have allowed birds to get in, could they?
Sean Knight mused for a moment, about to go take a look at what remained inside the temple when, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something in the buildings nearby!
The temple was located at the center of the Ruin Site, which was connected by roads from the east, west, south, and north, all leading to the temple in the middle.
And this Location in the southeast corner was prime real estate; in the past, it must have been a two-story stone building. However, now only half a layer remained.
In the periphery, there were signs of excavation, with some metal fragments lying near the dug pits.
This building must have been the house of a wealthy family or perhaps a very lively shop.
Because under the Sky Eye’s observation, there were copper pieces and even silver pieces scattered everywhere underneath. Although some had been excavated with metal detectors, the scattered ones still added up to a significant amount.
Of course, what made Sean Knight take notice was that in the part of the wall that hadn’t completely collapsed, there were several secret compartments.
And inside the secret compartments, there were actually Gold and Silver Artifacts, including coins, ornaments, decorations, and some utensils.
Were these left behind because there wasn’t time to take them, or did the people who left not know about the secret compartments in the wall, and that there was something inside?
"Mr. Knight, what is it?" Aria Wilson, seeing Sean Knight stop and look to the side, asked with curiosity.
"There should be some Treasure in there," Sean Knight pointed and said, "but searching for it might damage the wall."
"Go ahead and search, I’ve never witnessed a real treasure excavation site!" Upon hearing this, Aria Wilson got excited right away, "I even had someone bring tools!"
She pointed behind her, and indeed, a bodyguard quickly approached with a bag of tools.
This bodyguard, silent, displayed the tools one by one for Sean Knight.
"Can we dig now?" Sean Knight asked Aria Wilson.
"Of course we can!" Aria Wilson pulled him towards the building, "As long as we don’t damage this Temple it’s fine. Everything else has weathered so much over time, it can’t be protected here, so if it gets destroyed, it gets destroyed."
Seeing as the master was so magnanimous, Sean Knight was naturally not polite, choosing a flat-headed shovel from the female bodyguard’s bag and carrying it in hand towards the damaged part of the wall.
Sean Knight didn’t immediately head straight for the back room; he began by tapping on the wall from the very start with the flat-headed shovel.
As he continued to tap with the flat-headed shovel, the sound it made started to change.
At first, Aria Wilson didn’t quite understand, but quickly she could tell that the sound in a certain spot was different from the rest, seemingly hollow.
"It’s right here," Sean Knight lightly tapped a spot over a secret compartment with the flat-headed shovel, "This should be hollow, likely a hiding spot for something."
"How did you know?" Aria Wilson moved closer, took the flat-headed shovel from Sean Knight’s hand, and tapped the spot herself. By the sensation of the reverberation in her hand, she could feel that there indeed was a hollow space inside.
"This wall is thicker than the others," said Sean Knight, "Compared to other areas, this wall is obviously excessively thick. Too thick."
"You noticed that detail?" Aria Wilson exclaimed in astonishment, then went to compare and truly found that though this wall was not an Outer Wall, it was built very thick, clearly unreasonable.
Sean Knight, amidst the amazed gazes, gave a modest smile, then took the flat-headed shovel and started breaking through the wall.
"Take a look around, there should be more than this one compartment in this wall," Sean Knight said to the others while he continued to break through the wall.
"I’ll do it!" Aria Wilson immediately took another shovel and began tapping.
Sean Knight quickly broke through a layer of stone bricks, revealing a black mass inside.
After using the flat-headed shovel to tease out the black mass onto the sand, it started to come apart.
It turned out to be fabric. But this thick fabric, having been in the wall so long, had weathered—obviously, this wall wasn’t sealed that tightly.
Among the scattered pieces of fabric, golden coins emerged, numbering at least one to two hundred at a glance.
Those who hadn’t participated in the wall-breaking immediately showed even more astonished expressions—there really was a treasure!
Their gaze toward Sean Knight became fervent, and in their eyes, he seemed even more mystical.
"I found it!" Aria Wilson suddenly exclaimed, "There’s more here, too!"
As she cried out, she glanced at Sean Knight, then caught sight of the coins scattered on the ground.
"You really did discover a treasure!" Aria Wilson dropped her shovel and came over, crouching down to say:
"These are coins from the time of the Roman Empire, not very rare, but to certain collectors, these are treasures, and there are so many!"
"There might be even more valuable treasures where you’re looking!" Sean Knight said, laughing, "Check it out."
"Okay!" Aria Wilson agreed, then added, "But first, let’s collect these up."
"Leave that to them," Sean Knight said, pointing to Amina Wilson and another bodyguard, "Go see what you have there."
Aria Wilson smiled at Sean Knight: "Alright then!"
With Sean Knight’s help, Aria Wilson broke through the layer of stone bricks, only to see an even larger spatial realm than the one Sean Knight had uncovered.
There were stacks and stacks of gold and silver made into bowls, plates, and other tableware, easily dozens of items!
"Your Royal Highness, congratulations!" Sean Knight said with a smile, "These sets of Golden and Silver Utensils are quite valuable— they all seem brand new."
