Aria was also very happy, handling two golden wine pots and wine glasses, inlaid with rubies, with great care and admiring them in her hands.
Just one of these wine pots, once sold, could fetch at least a hundred thousand dollars.
There’s no shortage of such exquisite items here!
Then they opened the third secret compartment, which contained some women’s golden ornaments, also studded with gemstones.
Sean Knight roughly estimated the total value. All these items together were worth two to three million dollars.
Possibly even more!
He had never imagined that a random ruin in the desert could yield so many valuable items!
Of course, he also had to thank the treasure hunters who had come before them, who hadn’t made it a habit to look for treasures inside the walls.
After instructing the bodyguards to pack and carry the items, Aria and Sean Knight only now entered the damaged temple for a look around.
There were no god statues inside the temple, but the surrounding walls were covered with numerous murals.
These murals had been damaged by windsand and were barely visible, with only some lines remaining.
Some of these lines were still quite vivid. Sean was curious about what kind of pigment could have been used to last so long without fading.
Aria lamented:
"These murals must have been very precious pieces of artwork, it’s a pity they can no longer be clearly seen."
"The people who painted these probably never imagined a day would come when this place would be abandoned, the temple destroyed, and windsand blowing in from outside, ruining it all."
The temple’s layout prioritized the worship area as the largest, followed by quarters for living, preaching, and such.
Aria, perhaps addicted to treasure hunting since finding the treasure earlier, occasionally tapped the wall with her flat-headed shovel, hoping to discover something further.
Unfortunately, after touring the entire temple, they found nothing more.
Having finished exploring the temple and finding the treasure, there was no more interest in further exploration. The sun had risen, and the temperature within the ruins was climbing. After discussing it together, they decided to head back.
Once in the car, they turned on the air conditioning, and gusts of cool air drove away the heat, finally allowing everyone to settle down.
"All these items are yours," Aria said to Sean Knight, pointing at the contents in the trunk.
"No, no, no," Sean waved his hand, "The golden coins are mine. The rest aren’t."
"That’s not fair..." Aria started to argue with her face turning red.
"I usually go treasure hunting with my friends. We always say whoever finds it, owns it," Sean said seriously:
"Just like today, if I were with my friends, whatever we find in the secret compartments is up to luck. Whoever discovers it, keeps it. That way, there are no disputes."
Aria was somewhat puzzled but eventually accepted this explanation.
She was aware that this was probably Sean’s way of thanking her. But the gesture was made in such a way that left her without any other words to say.
The off-road vehicle continued forward when two pickup trucks sprang from the left front. They spotted them first, veered off their course, and started to encircle the off-road vehicle.
Soon, the pickup trucks forced the off-road vehicle to stop beside a sandbag.
Five men with covered faces descended from the pickup truck and approached the front of the off-road vehicle. The leader knocked on the car window, signaling the driver to lower the glass as he had something to say.
"Princess, Mr. Knight, don’t worry. This car is bulletproof," Amina whispered.
The two bodyguards had already drawn their guns, and Aria also pulled out a small pistol.
Aria leaned closer to Sean and said:
"What do these people want? Are they trying to rob us?"
Sean was not worried at all and guessed:
"They’re probably here for treasure hunting at the Ruin Site. Seeing us coming from that direction, they must want to ask about it."
The bodyguard turned to Sean for instructions, who said:
"Lower it and tell them we are tourists."
After chambering a round, the bodyguard lowered the window halfway and said coldly to the men outside:
"What do you want?"
"Nothing, nothing, we just saw you guys coming from that direction and wanted to ask if you went into a ruin site."
"That’s none of your business," the bodyguard replied sternly, not intending to offer any favors, "Move aside, or we’ll have to be rude!"
The man’s expression shifted slightly, and then he noticed the gun held out by the bodyguard.
"We’re just tourists enjoying our time in the desert," Sean interjected, not wanting the situation to escalate, well aware that these men surely had guns.
Even if the car was bulletproof, there were women inside, and the outcome of a shootout was uncertain—especially since Sean’s Sky Eye had seen the opponents had RPGs, which proved that even a bulletproof car was not foolproof!
"We didn’t find anything of value in there."
Hearing Sean’s response, the man’s expression changed slightly. He stepped back and said:
"Alright then, enjoy yourselves!"
He then turned his head, signaling his men to move their vehicles aside.
The female bodyguard raised the car glass and sped away with full throttle.
"Boss, why didn’t we keep them here?" someone asked from the pickup truck.
"Don’t create unnecessary complications. Ordinary people can’t afford to drive such cars. If we provoke the wrong people, we might have trouble making a living in this area in the future!"
Soon, they reached the ruins and headed straight for the temple.
Although they noticed the marks left by Sean and his group when dismantling the wall, they didn’t consider these significant.
Their main focus was the items inside the temple.
Before long, they started digging inside the temple.
Suddenly, screams and gunshots echoed within the temple.
From a distance, a large swarm of dark figures poured out from the temple!
After Sean and the others put distance between themselves and the pickup trucks, they left the area quickly, taking little time to return to the Oil Field.
What surprised Sean upon his return was the number of people already at the Oil Field.
The groups that started gathering yesterday had already arrived today!
This turnout was truly beyond expectation!
Looking at these young people, dressed in camouflage uniforms, with crew cuts, and brimming with vitality, Sean felt his confidence surge.
Now that he had people, who would dare start trouble?
You won’t lay a finger on me!
