Chapter 469: Chapter 470: You’d Better Not Fall

Li Jin felt that there was something fishy about this incident and hastily asked those two veteran policemen to take the two guys away, saying, "If they can’t speak, have them write instead, let’s see what exactly happened."

Zhao Chuo and Xiao Liu nodded continually and quickly followed the two veteran policemen out, but before leaving, they both turned back and glared at Song Xiaodong with bitter resentment, feeling extremely frustrated inside. They had been beaten up by Song Xiaodong, and now this guy just sat back down pretending to be innocent. He couldn’t speak just moments ago, and now this—it was infuriating.

Su Yawei frowned and said to Li Jin, "Where’s his cellphone?"

Li Jin glanced at the interrogation room’s desk, which, apart from the notebook for recording statements, had nothing else on it, not even a single word written down which made him furrow his brows even more. What the hell kind of interrogation was this—not a single relevant question asked, and it ended up like this. Was Zhao Chuo feeding on crap? Even if you’re going to pin a crime on someone, you should at least follow the proper procedures, right?

Song Xiaodong looked at Li Jin and asked, "Are you looking for my cellphone?"

Su Yawei snorted, "That’s right."

"It’s on me," Song Xiaodong said with a faint smile on his face.

Su Yawei glared and demanded, "Take out the cellphone."

Song Xiaodong regarded Su Yawei as if he were an idiot, responding, "Don’t you see I’m handcuffed?"

Su Yawei’s mouth twitched slightly as he went over, fished out the cellphone from Song Xiaodong’s pocket, and whispered into his ear, "Kid, you’ve got some nerve, not only competing over a woman with me but also daring to blackmail me. Once you’re in, don’t even think about getting out."

Looking at Su Yawei, Song Xiaodong replied indifferently, "Right now, even if you wanted me out, I wouldn’t leave."

"Ha... I want you out? Keep dreaming. For the rest of your life, you’ll stay behind bars. I heard that the guys in there haven’t seen a woman in a long time, and they love fresh meat like you coming in so they can proper vent out, haha, just don’t know how much you’ll enjoy having your chrysanthemum blown apart."

Song Xiaodong gave a faint smile and said, "If you really fancy that kind of thing, I’ll help you out."

Su Yawei scoffed, "Kid, you’re still sassy with me at this point; you really are clueless. Do you think you still have a chance to turn things around now that you’re here?"

"And do you think the Public Security Bureau is your private property? Don’t forget, at best your grandfather is just a vice mayor, not powerful enough to cover the sky with one hand. If things go south, even your grandfather might not be able to cover for you."

"Ha... You sure talk big. Don’t think just because you’ve connected with Shen Yue, her dad will stick his neck out for you. If you were actually marrying Shen Yue, maybe you’d have a chance, but now... that chance is gone."

Song Xiaodong said indifferently, "Is that so? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see."

Su Yawei snorted, "Fine. I’ll watch how you get taken care of now."

As Su Yawei picked up Song Xiaodong’s cellphone, he found it to be pretty beaten up, his face immediately showing disdain, "How do you unlock this?"

Song Xiaodong smiled faintly, "Sorry, I won’t tell you."

"You won’t tell me... Okay, you think I have no other recourse?" Su Yawei sneered, raising his hand high, ready to smash the cellphone to pieces.

Song Xiaodong said, "You better not smash it; you can’t afford the consequences."

"Haha, it’s just a broken phone, what consequences could I possibly not afford?" Su Yawei laughed and slammed Song Xiaodong’s phone hard against the ground.

Song Xiaodong’s eyes flashed with a cold light, but he said nothing.

Su Yawei dropped Song Xiaodong’s phone twice, and then found something hard to smash it several times, breaking the phone into pieces. Standing up and dusting off his hands, he said proudly, "You filmed a video, didn’t you? It’s gone now."

Song Xiaodong just looked at Su Yawei indifferently, with a disdainful smile on his face, too lazy to say even a word to him.

What Su Yawei feared most was the video leaking out. Now that he had solved the problem, his heart was completely relaxed, and he said, "Kid, now you tell me, how should I deal with you?"

Song Xiaodong sneered even more dismissively and said, "It’s a pity you’re young, yet you don’t know about the cloud, network drives, and various other storage methods. Do you really think that by smashing my phone, you can delete all the data? You’re too naive."

Su Yawei’s face turned extremely ugly, and he said angrily, "Spit out all the account information and passwords right now."

"And if I don’t?" Song Xiaodong raised an eyebrow, provocatively staring at Su Yawei.

"Don’t say... Okay, okay, you won’t talk. Then, let’s wait and see. Director Li, I’ll leave this to you. I believe you definitely have ways to make him talk."

Li Jin immediately said, "Alright then, leave the rest to us, and you should leave for now." He really didn’t want Su Yawei to be here; this was a clear breach of rules. If it wasn’t for Su Yawei being Vice Mayor Su’s grandson, Li Jin would have kicked him out long ago.

Just then, the two older police officers walked in and whispered to Li Jin, "Director Li, there’s something fishy about this."

"Fishy? What do you mean?" Director Li frowned.

The older police officer handed over two sheets of paper to Director Li, which contained in detail the account written by Zhao Chuo and Xiao Liu of the beating they had received.

The older police officer whispered again, "The two of them wrote their accounts separately, without collusion, so it’s very likely that their story is true."

After reading, Director Li couldn’t help but feel inwardly shocked. If this was true, then this Song Xiaodong in front of him was truly audacious, daring to strike police officers, right here no less. Most importantly, the two victims couldn’t speak out, clearly indicating he was responsible.

"Have you thoroughly investigated his background?" Director Li asked further.

"Well... we only know that he works at Qingyuan Group as the HR manager. We haven’t looked into his social connections yet."

Li Jin felt that things were getting tricky and said, "Then hurry up and check."

Su Yawei frowned and said, "Check what, damn it! Even if he has some connections, can they be bigger than mine? I’ve got this covered; just hurry up and get this done."

Li Jin frowned and said, "Alright then, you two proceed with the interrogation. I’ll go and report to the chief."

The two older police officers nodded, then sat behind the interrogation desk and began the formal questioning, while Li Jin and Su Yawei stepped out.

Just then, Su Yawei’s phone rang. It was a call from his classmate. Su Yawei answered immediately, and the person on the other end urgently said, "Su Yawei, something bad has happened. There’s a video about you online, claiming that you hired triads to assault people."

"Ah!" Su Yawei’s face changed instantly, and he exclaimed out loud.
