Lexus didn’t move; he just sat there. The horses stopped in front of the mansion he was in, and four to five people came down from their horses.

Lexus could hear them coming towards him, but he still didn’t move because he was seated in a comfortable position, and he didn’t want to ruin that.

Soon the footsteps drew closer, entered the underground passage, and came down.

Lexus saw Arthur Fury, but unlike his almost pajama appearance last night, he was clad in silver armor and had official insignia on him.

"You look like a proper knight," Lexus chuckled and said.

"Well, thank you for your compliment, my lord. The empress sent her regards." Arthur bowed a little. It was customary to bow down slightly as a knight in front of a higher lord.

"Well, thank the Empress on my behalf," Lexus said with a light laugh.

Arthur didn’t come alone; he came with four knight-looking people, and every one of them was holding small boxes.

"These are the forty thousand golds. The empress is busy with her coronation, so she has instructed me to lead you out of the city," Arthur said with a smile.

"Alright, you brought the carriage?" Lexus asked while yawning a little, then came down from the table.

"Yes, and it’s filled with food," Arthur said, then gestured to the armor-wearing guards to give the boxes they are holding to Lexus.

Lexus smiled and walked towards them, and with a flick of his hand, he stored everything inside his purple-colored ring.

"Show me the carriage," Lexus said while walking towards the passage to go up.

There was still no sun in the sky, and it was cloudy; Lexus didn’t mind; it’s just that traveling in the rain is a bit uncomfortable.

Sigh! It’s been so many years since I left the Duchy; I need to get that permission fast.

Lexus, while thinking this, reached where horses were standing, and seeing the stagecoach, he was flabbergasted.

"This exists?" Lexus was so happy that he could go kill for another round for this beautiful stagecoach.

The stagecoach was tall and had a very beautiful color, which was black and gold.

The huge wheels looked very good, and atop the coach were luggages filled to the brim; there were six horses in total to pull the huge stagecoach.

"This is our emperor’s stagecoach; he used it to go on diplomatic missions, but as of yesterday, he sadly passed away. Princess, I mean Empress, gifted this to you," Arthur stood beside Lexus and explained happily.

"Console the Empress for me and say that I am sorry for her loss," Lexus said this without any emotions in his voice and then jumped to the coachman’s seat.

"Follow me first; I’ve picked someone up from nearby, and then we go out of the city," Lexus said, then turned the whole stagecoach in the opposite direction.

People on the street were awed to see the stagecoach, which was being accompanied by 5 knights on horses.

"You’re heading to the central region, right? It’s a long journey. Here, take this map. You’ll have to cross the Northern Barren Lands. This is the first empire when entering the northern region but the last empire when traveling to the central region. Does that make sense?" Arthur asked with a smile, keeping pace with his horse, and gave a parchment to Lexus.

"Well, it does. Wait here, and thank you for this." Lexus stopped the carriage in front of the Old Tavern and thanked Arthur for the map, then went inside.

The tavern was full of people; they were drinking and laughing. Lexus didn’t care about it; he slowly walked towards the small door and opened it.

Isabella sat on a small bed, while beside her, the little girl slept with her arms and legs stretched out.

"It’s time to go; Central Region awaits," Lexus smilingly said, and then he walked forward and the princess carried the little girl in her arms.

"What is this?" Isabella was shocked to see such a huge carriage in front of her; it was pulled by six horses.

"Go inside and take this girl with you," Lexus said and gestured for Isabella to enter the stagecoach.

Isabella jumped up and opened the door, then picked the little girl from Lexus’s hand. The floor of the stagecoach was around 5 feet tall, so she had to bend her waist to pick the little girl up.

Lexus, after giving the little girl to Isabella and seeing her seated comfortably inside, nodded his head slightly and then sat on the coachman’s seat once again.

"Alright, lead me out," Lexus said to Arthur, who was waiting for his signal.

"Alright, Lord Lexus, Follow me," Arthur said with a smile, then spurred ahead and let Lexus follow his lead.

The armored guards who came with him went ahead of Arthur and cleared the road for the huge stagecoach.

It took them two hours to reach the Northern Fortress, which was the last fortress of the northern region.

As they reached a huge gate where Lexus could see snowy mountains outside, Arthur stopped under it.

Lexus also stopped and stepped down to thank Arthur one last time before proceeding towards his next journey.

"Lord Theodore, It was a pleasure meeting you. You came like an angel and cleared some heavy burdens for us; for that, the Empress is grateful and will send her army with you when you need bannermen under your command." Arthur came and directly stated the message from the Kolar Gold Empress.

"Reclaiming a small duchy won’t be needing an army from an empire," Lexus chuckled, as his claim was on a duchy, which is very small compared to an empire.

If you want to build an empire, you must have a minimum land area of 3 kingdoms.

A duchy is under that kingdom, so Lexus could guess he doesn’t need that many forces under him to reclaim his lands.

Arthur smiled kindly and said, "The Empress said, ’The Theodore Duchy is an ancient duchy that was once part of an ancient empire. Imperial duchies are bigger than a kingdom, and the Theodore Duchy is far bigger than a kingdom.’ So, I wouldn’t refuse such a generous offer of friendship."

Today, he was being promoted to Commander, all thanks to Lexus.

"Alright, I’ll knock on your door when I need Ally." Lexus smiled and then patted Arthur on the shoulders.

"Use that map, my lord, to navigate yourself. The first settlement you’ll be finding after leaving this empire will be a small yet powerful independent barony, so good luck.

Arthur gave his last bow to Lexus and went inside the city with his companions, while Lexus beat the shit out of the horses to move them fast.

"These horses are fat and muscular to move fast," Lexus spat as soon as he left the city.

The imperial roads are still there, so the stagecoach was going smoothly but way slower than expected.

"These are the draft horses. They won’t run that fast but will carry huge loads and walk for miles, best for long journeys, until a maniac beats them to death." Isabella’s voice came to Lex’s ear; he looked back only to see Isabella opening the door of the stagecoach and coming towards him.
