Chapter 1683: Chapter 1677: Eating Raw Eggs
When Qin Su’e heard her father speak, she sneered internally. Indeed, he was being ungracious, but had they ever shown her any grace? If they had, why would she be living like this now, like a reviled bedbug?
Yet Qin Su’e knew it wasn’t the time for her to explode, so she followed her father’s finger towards the woodshed and slowly walked over. Alright then, the woodshed it was. When she no longer wished to endure, these people would pay the price they deserved.
At that moment, it was as if there was a demon inside Qin Su’e, breeding hatred that made everyone in the house shiver uncontrollably, suddenly feeling an eerie chill. They rubbed their arms and each walked away.
Left alone in the woodshed, nobody bothered to ask Qin Su’e if she’d eaten. In their minds, a lunatic had no sensation—whether she ate or not was inconsequential, so no one cared how she was.
But Qin Su’e observed the filth in the woodshed, it was unbearable. She walked over, picked up a bundle of straw, and laid it flat on the ground. Even if no one cared for her, and now she looked like a madwoman, she still needed a place to sleep, right? The ground covered in dirt and dust was impossible to sleep on, so after laying a pile of straw, she could sleep on top of it.
There was no fear of being discovered since no one would come here. Next, she had to think of her next move. She wanted to get revenge on those who treated her poorly—it was this idea of Qin Su’e that led her further down the abyss. Meanwhile, Mr. Qin’s family was dining and none considered giving Qin Su’e in the woodshed a morsel of food.
Qin Su’e peeked through the crack in the woodshed towards the living room; having such a family was truly her misfortune. How did she end up with such selfish and self-serving relatives?
Qin Su’e watched the family of four eating heartily, occasionally saying how good it tasted and asking for more, and then receiving encouragement from the parents. She returned to her prepared spot. Fine, they didn’t have to feed her—she’d see how to get food when they went off to work. How she acted then would completely depend on her mood.
After Mr. Qin and the family finished eating, they stored away the leftovers by hanging them on a beam, then headed out to work. The two younger ones left right after eating, doing nothing in the process.
Qin Su’e waited until outside was silent before slowly stepping out of the woodshed. She wanted to see what goodies her parents had prepared for them this year. Not only had she received nothing, but she’d also only been exploited. Seeing eggs in the jar, Qin Su’e was surprised the family still held onto something so good—this would be a real bargain for her.
Qin Su’e grabbed two eggs, cracked them open, and devoured them raw. If someone saw, they’d surely be horrified. Was she a demon? Eating raw eggs, just like that?
But Qin Su’e ate with relish—having something to eat was better than nothing, otherwise she’d be left starving. Besides, she thought, she was a madwoman now. How would she know to cook the eggs before eating?
Looking at the many eggs, Qin Su’e figured they were saved by her parents for her two younger brothers, meaning her mom wouldn’t count them every day. She knew this much; her brothers were gluttonous but only ate when food was prepared for them.
Qin Su’e felt that her two brothers came to their home to be treated like royalty, expecting to be waited on hand and foot, and not lifting a finger themselves. They were no different from useless parasites.
