Chapter 901: Chapter 901: Learning New Spells
’Ferdinand actually knows about it. Haha,’ Arabella internally chuckled.
She realized Ferdinand was pretending not to have noticed. He did not want to make a big deal out of it.
[If he doesn’t hear about it, then it should be fine, right?]
Ferdinand stayed silent about it so Raymond would not notice he was intentionally speeding up Alwin’s recovery.
Arabella glanced at Alvis, who also remained silent after greeting them.
Alvis silently watched as Alwin unconsciously absorbed Ferdinand’s mana.
[Yes, that’s it, Alwin. Absorb as much as possible and recover. This is how you should use available nutrients. After all, it’s only natural for a tree to absorb some nourishment from the mountain.]
’Nutrients?! Nourishment?!’ Arabella blinked twice at Alvis’s thought process.
The Elf-King just treated her husband like some source of nutrients and nourishment.
[Ah, right! She could hear me!]
Alvis glanced at her.
{My apologies. I didn’t mean it in a bad way. It’s just how it is for the long-lived races. Primordials are like mountains or seas of mana. Thus, the youngsters who happen to be in their vicinity cannot help but absorb some of it and grow faster.}
’Oh, so that was it...’ Arabella was rather awed by his explanation.
It meant Ferdinand and the other primordials were simply that powerful.
Especially since Alwin, who was already quite powerful, was just a tree when compared to Ferdinand, who Alvis said was a mountain or a sea.
The difference in magnitude was too great.
[Master is getting more mana from His Majesty.]
Dimo silently glanced back at an effort from Alwin to Ferdinand.
[What an observant child. He really has a lot of promise for a human in this generation.]
Ferdinand put a finger to his lips to gesture to Dimo that he should keep it a secret.
[Ah, right! This is a secret.]
Dimo nodded his head with a silent promise not to reveal it to anyone else.
"Haha," Arabella and the other adults in the room couldn’t help but chuckle.
Dimo looked around, not understanding what was funny.
"Didn’t you wait for Her Majesty to tell her something?" Blanca said, and saved them from trying to explain why they laughed.
"Oh, right!" Dimo’s attention was successfully shifted. "Your Majesty, I just learned a new spell from Master’s Uncle!"
"Oh my, what spell is that?" Arabella inquired.
"It’s a spell that makes vines and even trees grow..."
Dimo went on and discussed in detail until he decided it was better to just show it.
"It’s like this," Dimo said, and said a spell.
Vines grew from the pot nearby, and he made them grow and flower in the span of seconds.
The flowers bloomed, and they looked pretty, but after a few more seconds, the vines wilted and vanished.
"I can only sustain them for a bit now, but I will keep practicing until I can make them stay longer," Dimo explained brightly.
He was so proud and happy with this achievement, and Arabella knew even the past Dimo would be too.
After all, Dimo didn’t like that his power was on fire. Something that could cause so much damage.
Dimo preferred something that sustained and promoted life like this.
"Wow! That’s a wonderful spell. I’m sure you’ll be able to make it last after some more practice," Arabella patted Dimo on the head.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I will do my best!" Dimo promised.
"Now, then, go to sleep so you can practice again tomorrow," Alvis said, and Dimo nodded.
Dimo said his goodbyes and yawned as Blanca walked him out of the room.
He waited for Arabella just to share this news with her immediately.
Arabella smiled at the thought. She was glad Dimo was enjoying himself and learning a lot in this life, and she could witness it.
’Now, what about Alwin?’
Arabella touched Alwin’s forehead to check his temperature.
It was normal.
His complexion grew better as well, compared to when they just entered.
The more mana he absorbed, the better for his recovery.
Arabella then conversed with Alvis and Blanca about Alwin’s condition to prolong their stay here.
This way, Alwin could absorb enough to help speed up his recovery.
Ferdinand knew and did not mind it at all. Rather, he also knew what she was doing, so he joined the conversation as well.
.
.
.
When they returned to the palace, it was time for bed.
Arabella went to the bath while Ferdinand asked permission to continue reading her proposals.
When Arabella returned to her room, Ferdinand was in her bed waiting for her.
"You’re done reading?" Arabella inquired.
He smelled fresh from the bath as well and was in his sleeping clothes.
"Yes, all of it is well-done! I don’t know where you learned to do it or if you studied a lot every time I was away, but I’m sure the Department Heads will be amazed and work harder from now on. You did well," Ferdinand grinned.
"Thank you," Arabella blushed.
She was glad Ferdinand found it well done.
After all, in her past life, she used to wonder what he thought about her work.
Project proposals for construction works were not her expertise, but she had read, reviewed, and approved a lot of them in her past life.
Arabella did have her own construction projects she proposed herself back then, but it was usually only related to maintaining the mines Ferdinand had officially gifted her when they got married.
Thus, she knew how to do it herself.
Thankfully, Ferdinand liked how she did it.
All of it was just initial drafts, though, since she still needed to know the specifics and changed it accordingly once they went to the afflicted territories.
Ferdinand was exaggerating when he said he could already sign the documents.
After all, the numerical data and measurements she added were just estimates for now.
Still, it’s not so bad to be praised by him for the quality of her work.
It was an initial draft, too, so Arabella understood why Ferdinand was so proud of her.
"Now, come here," Ferdinand patted the space beside him on the bed.
