Chapter 792: Eager to Avenge Their People

Chapter 792: Chapter 792: Eager to Avenge Their People

Odette had been helping their rescued people so she was already experienced in these tasks.

However, Odette’s older brothers had forbidden her from being in the first step of the process since they feared it would break her warm and kind heart if she saw exactly what their people looked like as slaves in Crux.

It was when they still had fearful and wary eyes that were on the brink of losing hope. Further, they were still sickly, filthy, and heavily injured here and there and had festering wounds or ugly scars.

The healing magic Alwin and the others used were so potent it usually heals most wounds and alleviates malnutrition since their mana affects a person’s body deeply, down to every fiber.

Hence, those in the second steps were no longer as weak or ill as those who had just been teleported except for those who had much worse situations.

Arabella was also worried it might be too much for the current Odette who had not seen the worst of what she had experienced as a Duchess if the future’s direction was not skewed before the former Marquess Gulliver made things worse.

Odette had seen how Marquess Gulliver treated his women but had not yet seen a sight much worse than that.

In her past life, Odette saw how their people were treated as slaves and she even almost got killed by her own husband.

If Odette saw their rescued people now just as they were, she might blame herself for being unable to help before such things happened to them.

What if she once again develops the desire to avenge her people with her own hands in whatever way possible?

Though things have changed this time and Valeria is avenging the Prudencians, Arabella still did not want to take the risks.

After all, from what Arabella knew in her past life, it was one of the reasons why Odette hated Valeria and Ferdinand whom she believed did not do their duty to protect them after getting them as part of their territory.

Thus, Arabella decided it would indeed be better for Odette not to see what their people looked like right after they were brought back from Crux.

Arabella had seen it herself and it was a heart wrenching sight, like seeing victims of war crimes.

She eyed Odette and said, "You will help in interviewing them since they will feel more assured and relaxed to speak with you around."

"Yes, Your Majesty. Gladly," Odette readily accepted her task. She understood how important it was to be present for their people.

Arabella was relieved and gave an explanation for her other assistants to understand the situation.

"As the Duke of Prudencia, Theodore, Odette’s oldest sibling, would be in the frontlines in the war with Crux," she began.

Her assistants nodded silently so she continued.

"Sir Jonathan and Nathaniel, Odette’s second and third older brothers who are knights here in Riva used to be among the ones interviewing the rescued Prudencians.

But they will join Duke Theodore in the war as well so they are now preparing for battle.

Thus, Odette would be taking their tasks now," Arabella clarified.

[Her three oldest siblings are joining the war and she’s so calm about it?

What if they died in the battle?

We are sure to win but there might still be casualties.

What if they happened to be among those who die?] Narcissa thought.

Arabella and the others understood why the elder siblings all decided to join the war. After all, it was for reclaiming their people.

As royalty and the ruling household, they have to show Prudencia that they are more than willing to lay their lives to reclaim those who were not back yet. And that they would fight for their people if they had enough support and resources.

Likewise, the Prudencian siblings are eager to let out their anger and frustration.

They are aching to avenge their people who had died and those who managed to survive but continue to live with the trauma of what they suffered as slaves in Crux.

And Arabella and Ferdinand as the rulers of Valeria had to allow them that much leeway or else the siblings would feel like they have not done enough for their people.

"They are all joining the war? Then, what about their territory?" Denzel inquired.

It was a good question since their territory still needed to be defended in case of a surprise attack. Likewise, what if the three died in the battle?

Narcissa’s and Denzel’s concerns were valid.

Heirs were not usually sent to war altogether to avoid the ruling family’s power to diminish and possibly shake the territory.

However, with Riva’s backing, Prudencia was set to recover and once again improve even if three heirs died in the war.

Likewise, the other younger siblings were around to take their elder siblings’ place in the worst case scenario.

"Sir Benedict, her fourth older brother, was left in charge of Prudencia while her three elder brothers were to join the frontlines of the battlefield," Arabella explained. "Is that right, Odette?"

"Yes, Your Majesty," Odette smiled politely.

[I wanted to stop Jonathan and Nathaniel from going to the frontlines, but they had to.

It was clear in their eyes they would rather die than not join the war that will finally allow them to take action for our people.

Their eyes looked dangerous as they seemed too eager to reap souls as vengeance for our people.

But no matter what I told them, I could not calm them down.

Even Theodore who can usually hide his emotions and stay calm is visibly aching to go to the battlefield soon.

I pray they do not act too recklessly and get themselves killed.]

Odette looked calm on the outside but deep inside, she was worried and fretting.

The Grand Commander and Zion would be there though so Arabella was assured they would not allow the Prundencian siblings to die in the battle.

Arabella noted to inform Zion though to keep a close eye on the siblings in case they act recklessly.

"What about your younger siblings?" Nadia inquired.
