Chapter 443: Betrothed to an Elf

Ferdinand also used magic and helped restore the flowers.

His human form looked a bit older compared to when he was with Ara and his hair had grown to his shoulders too.

’This haircut suits him too,’ Arabella thought. Even the short hair he had when he was with Ara suited him as well.

She looked around and realized that Ferdinand landed on a part of the flower field that was filled with amber-colored flowers.

It made her frown since she recalled Ferdinand thinking that her eyes reminded him of the flower fields of the elves.

’Was this the same flower fields that he wanted to show me?’ She was not that excited about it anymore after seeing him meet an elf that looked like her there.

"Why did you land here? This is the elf’s territory. Please leave if you have no business here," the elf daringly drove him off. She seemed to dislike Ferdinand at first sight.

"I just thought you looked like someone I had met before," Ferdinand gazed at her face and the elf’s brows furrowed further.

’Oh my. Is he recalling Ara or Ellie?’

"I nor my parents had never gotten entangled with dragons before. The others would be alerted by your presence here. Please leave," the elf drove him away again.

"Alright. Sorry for disturbing you," Ferdinand apologized and leaped into the air. He changed form and flew away with another complaint from the elf saying he ruined the flowers again. He glanced down and the flower petals were scattered everywhere due to the force of his wings.

After all, his dragon form was so much bigger than when he was with Ellie or Ara.

The elf looked angry and frustrated but motioned for him to just continue leaving since if he flew back, it would only ruin more flowers instead.

Moreover, the other elves had arrived, and they were armed. They thought Ferdinand went there to hunt and could have gotten the young elf.

’It seems not only humans feared them. The elves clearly thought he could have eaten that young lady.’

Arabella watched in awe as a lot of elves gathered. There were probably about several hundred of them. Some had their magic staffs. Some with bows and arrows. Some with swords and javelins.

’Oh, my goodness! This is the first time I see so many of them. They all look so stunning!’ Arabella was an avid fan, so she was delighted by the sight. She was internally screaming.

However, the expression on their faces was rather grim. They were so alarmed that a dragon approached their territory.

’I would have loved to see them in action but why is their target, my husband?’ Arabella brooded.

Ferdinand glanced at the flower fields again and happened to see a male elf embrace the lady he spoke with.

It made him pause and stare and the elves raised their weapons, interpreting his action to be hostile.

Ferdinand then flew away since he had no plan to fight with the elves.

However, in the following days, Ferdinand stayed on a nearby mountain where he could see the flower fields of the elves.

The young elf who looked like Arabella visited the flower garden every day and took care of the flowers.

And like a creepy and powerful stalker, Ferdinand stayed atop the mountain, and he used magic to conceal his presence as he watched the elf from afar.

After taking care of the flowers, the elf usually danced and sang in the flower fields. Sometimes she was alone. Sometimes other ladies were with her, and they played instruments while she sang.

Ferdinand seemed to like her singing since he always listened attentively.

Sometimes she simply had tea with the other ladies or had meals there.

And Ferdinand stayed there for too long that Arabella also learned that on bright nights, the lady took a walk with the man who embraced her last time. She realized that they were lovers. But Ferdinand was clueless about it.

’My goodness! These memories are evil. How could they show me something like this to me? I was once a lover of an elf?! How sinful,’ Arabella thought.

The male elf was rather very attractive and she wouldn’t have minded marrying him in another life.

’No, what am I thinking about? I already have Ferdinand and I will live with him for a very long time,’ she scolded herself when she recalled she already had a husband. Thus, she should be rooting for Ferdinand.

’Huh? Root for Ferdinand? Why did I think along those lines? Is this some kind of love triangle? Ferdinand and an elf once sought my hand?’

Her eyes twinkled at the thought as she thought of what kind of sight it would be.

’No. No. No. Arabella, you are already married,’ she reminded herself once again.

’Ah, but shouldn’t I root for that male elf since Ferdinand was supposed to be single until he marries me in this life?’

Thus, Arabella decided to root for the elf since Ferdinand was supposed to be hers.

’He shouldn’t get in between two lovers,’ she thought since the two elves were obviously in love with each other.

One time, the said male elf kissed the lady and glanced in Ferdinand’s direction with a look that said, "Back off! She’s mine."

’He knows Ferdinand is watching!’ Arabella gasped.

Ferdinand growled due to the male elf’s provocation. Sounding annoyed, he left the mountain and went home to the Northern Islands.

’Oh my! It’s so beautiful now!’ Arabella was mesmerized when she saw Ferdinand’s abode.

Instead of the cave he used to live in, this time, there was a gargantuan castle that was made of ice. It was so beautiful.

Ferdinand seemed to be mimicking how the other races were living and had built his own castle. Or maybe the other dragons had built their castle, so he followed suit.

Ferdinand turned to his human form in his abode.

"What was that about?!" he fumed. "That elf was so annoying. What was he trying to do? He pretended to not have noticed me all this time and only looked in my direction earlier after doing that thing I have seen humans do. So annoying! Maybe, I should kill that elf and tear him to pieces?"

’What?! No! Why would you?’ Arabella internally screamed.
