Chapter 442: An Elf This Time

"I’m not that terrible. I wouldn’t hate her simply because she had feelings for me. I was the one who was ignorant and clueless. I would have never known if you didn’t explain it to me. She had been kind and considerate of me all those times," Ferdinand sighed.

Arabella was relieved he wasn’t angry at her either for bringing up the past like this. But then again, he was the one who asked her what her dream was about.

"After living for so long, experiencing all sorts of things, and even living as a human, now that I thought about it, I believe she was quite sweet and lovable. I simply didn’t know anything at the time because I was still young," Ferdinand intentionally added to make Arabella react.

[Is she jealous now?] He was hoping she would tell him off or something.

’Humph. Why would I be jealous of my own self?’ Arabella internally denied it.

But honestly, she did still feel a bit of that prickly sensation in her chest as Ferdinand praised another woman.

’Ugh, fine. Maybe I am still jealous even if that person was probably me in the past.’

After all, even if Ellie and Ara were her previous reincarnations, they were completely different people from herself now. She simply inherited their soul or something like that.

"I see. If you realize it now, then it’s all good," Arabella pretended to have not felt anything.

[Huh?! All good? She wouldn’t even comment that I said another woman was sweet and lovable? I said a lot of praises too.]

"Arabella," Ferdinand pouted. "Don’t you feel even in the least bit bothered that I am praising another woman who once loved me?"

"Why should I be bothered? She’s someone from the past. Like, how many thousands of years ago was that? She’s long gone."

"Even so," he pouted even more.

"Would you be jealous if it was me who praised someone from my past even if it was several thousands of years ago?"

"Yes. I don’t want to hear you praising another man in my presence even if it was someone from a long, long time ago," Ferdinand looked like he might growl just at the thought of it.

"I see."

’No wonder he looked so terrible after the trials he went through to have me revived. It was cruel to have made him experience something like that.’

"What do you mean, I see?" her husband brooded.

[That’s all she was going to say? Am I the only one who’s always wary and restless? I always fear losing her to anyone or anything. The times she looked like she trusted Andrew a lot and believed in him, the times I could tell she was praising him in her mind when they talked, made me feel envious and jealous.]

’This naughty guy. Does he want me to feel that way then?’

"Would you not be bothered even if for instance I had lovers in the past?" Ferdinand pursued.

"Well, it was in the past. It already happened. What else should I do or say about it? As long as you only love me now, that’s what matters to me."

’Unless you pursued me only because I reminded you of someone from your past, then I will be really pissed,’ she was getting somewhat worried after seeing Ellie and Ara, who, both resembled her, or rather, she was the one who resembled them.

"I see. I must be the weird one," Ferdinand sulked even more.

’Oh, my. I better tell him before his thoughts turn negative.’

"I was just kidding. Of course, I was jealous. You talked with her for hours and days as if you were so interested in her," Arabella finally admitted, and she could see Ferdinand perk up.

"Oh, so you did?" he tried to stop a smile from arching his lips, but it still did.

"Who wouldn’t be? I rather wanted to wake up and stop watching you two act all lovey-dovey in front me," she complained, and Ferdinand’s smile grew.

’Tsk. Look at him becoming so full of himself. I’ll let it go since he looks cute.’

"What do you mean lovey-dovey? I was only trying to learn as much as I can from her. I never saw her as a possible mate. I never saw anyone else but you as a love interest," Ferdinand clarified.

He still couldn’t hide his delight at the thought that she was bothered too.

Ferdinand then asked for more details about her dream, so Arabella relayed it to him. He thought she may indeed be having a glimpse of his memories due to him giving her some of his mana. Thus, he decided not to give her any later tonight to check if there would be any difference.

However, after consummating with Ferdinand that night, once she fell asleep, Arabella still had another dream.

This time, Ferdinand was flying high up in the air, when he decided land on a vast flower field. Something there seemed to have caught his attention.

"What are you doing?! You just ruined the flowers!" Someone screamed at him.

Ferdinand turned to look and was met by the glare of a young elf that looked like Arabella when she was sixteen. She had blonde hair and light blue eyes just like Alwin. Her pointed ears were adorable.

’Oh my. Don’t I look so much prettier like this?!’Arabella thought. She had always liked elves so the thought that she could have been an elf once was exhilarating for her.

Ferdinand turned to human form and said elf, "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to."

"Whatever," the elf fumed and used her powers to restore the flowers to how they once were.

’Oh my, this one seems to be quite fearless and rude. Yet, she’s still so pretty even with a scowl on her face. I will probably look terrible if I copy her expression right now,’ Arabella mused.

Ferdinand also used magic and helped restore the flowers.

His human form looked a bit older compared to when he was with Ara and his hair had grown to his shoulders too.
