Chapter 239: I Will Reward You

[My vision wasn’t even that clear anymore due to everything I was feeling. But I instinctively knew where her hand was and grabbed it before I saw it.]

Arabella blinked twice at Ferdinand’s thoughts. It seems she had to avoid Andrew at all costs if Ferdinand gets that disoriented just from seeing her with him.

"Ferdinand, I only wanted to officially and properly end my former relationship with him since we never had the chance to speak in person. I’m not leaving you at all," Arabella sat on his lap and Ferdinand embraced her tight, burying his face in the crook of her neck.

[This is what I want. I don’t want to ever let go of her anymore. I don’t want her in another man’s arms. Never. She’s my wife. Mine.]

’Geez. He’s thinking as if he caught me embracing Andrew. He was just about to escort me so we could talk somewhere without the watchful gazes of the people in the Grand Palace.’

"I... I think I hate seeing you with him. It makes me feel all sorts of emotions and they are hard to control."

[Just seeing them together, it was so hard to breathe. It was as if I was watching her get taken from me while I was once again wrapped with chains all over my body. My body felt heavy and it was getting harder and harder to breathe as things became blurry until it turned dark and I couldn’t see anything anymore. I wanted to burn or freeze everything and crush it to pieces so I could breathe. ]

’C-chains? Was Ferdinand ever held in captivity before?’

Just the thought of it made Arabella shiver and she embraced her hubby more. She didn’t want to ever see him in chains.

She realized that Alwin was right. Her husband was indeed close to going berserk if his mind had blanked out like that as he felt all those.

"Alright. If you hate it that much, I will avoid him as much as I can. But I have to speak with him at least once to clarify things once and for all. Just once."

Arabella wasn’t planning to meet with Andrew again anyway unless they encounter each other at events.

Ferdinand didn’t speak for a few seconds and just embraced her tighter. He didn’t want her to speak with Andrew at all.

"Then, I’ll allow you to listen in on our conversation. But you have to hide your presence since Andrew also had military training. He might be able to sense you."

She knew Andrew just wanted to ensure she was happy too so she had the confidence to let Ferdinand listen in so he would not misunderstand.

[As if that weakling ever could. I can kill him with a single strike.] Ferdinand thought. He was so full of himself again since it was about military training. They were not even talking about killing anyone.

"Do you agree? If you behave well, I will reward you later once my conversation with Andrew is over. At night."

[Why does she keep saying his name? Even the sound of his name makes my blood boil.]

’Alright. I won’t even say his name. Sheesh. This hubby, really.’

"What kind of reward would you give me? Why at night?" Ferdinand didn’t understand at first and realized after he had uttered his questions. He was wide-eyed and gazed at her to verify. His ears turned red when she smiled.

"You don’t want to? I’m planning to pamper you at night," Arabella baited and her husband instantly agreed. It seems dragons are indeed very much like humans.

[My lord! You shouldn’t bend that easily!] Alwin was getting furious. He had stayed right outside their door in case he would need to teleport Ferdinand elsewhere in case Arabella made him even angrier than he already was earlier. He was horrified that his lord just got swayed so easily. But not that this was the first time he witnessed it.

"Then, can you have the conversation in this building? I promise, I won’t interfere. But that’s as long as he doesn’t touch you or do anything funny," Ferdinand was already making a scary expression just at the thought Andrew might hold her hand or embrace her. Or worse yet kiss her.

Her husband was thinking of cutting Andrew to pieces if he dared to kiss her.

Arabella knew though that Andrew wouldn’t do that. Andrew knew how much danger that would put his family and kingdom into. And he seemed to have moved on as well.

She understood when she got older that Andrew was the type that could move on easily.

Just as Arabella did after she got married to Ferdinand, Andrew was also probably able to love again maybe even before she did.

It probably wasn’t that hard for Andrew to be able to love another person too after he accepted that his relationship with Arabella had no future.

"That might be hard. This place is surrounded by your knights so he might think it’s too risky. But I’ll try to ask him if he would agree," Arabella was able to convince Ferdinand and he allowed her to write a letter to Andrew.

She made her husband read it, even when he refused at first so he would not wonder and overthink about the contents of the letter.

The letter was then handed to Alwin for him to deliver to Andrew. Arabella had asked for the talk to be today if possible. But if not, Andrew can set his most convenient time.

Alwin had an inscrutable face as he was given the letter.

[I can’t believe I just witnessed His Majesty be so emotional up close because of jealousy and yet he got convinced to do otherwise in a matter of a few minutes. He’s even more sensitive in this life. Just what did she tell him to make him change his mind? I thought he already told her he was a dragon. Did he not tell her even the slightest touch of another man would constantly make his blood boil and rouse his dark emotions because the scent would linger on her for a day or more? Other dragons burned down cities and kingdoms just because of it. His Majesty is already much calmer than the others.]

’Huh?!’ Arabella was shocked at what she heard from Alwin’s thoughts. She would apparently smell like Andrew for a while if she had looped her hand around his arm. Ferdinand would keep picking up Andrew’s scent on her for hours or even more than a day. And the longer the contact between them, the longer the scent lasts.
