’That bastard! What was I worried about?!’ Arabella wanted to throw her shoes in Ferdinand’s direction.

She got stressed and worried for nothing. She glared at him and he flinched.

[Why does she suddenly look angry?! I have to make this quick. She seems pissed for some reason.]

’Make it quick indeed. What do you get from playing around?’

Even if Ferdinand was strong, what if he accidentally got hurt?

’Wait, why do I sound worried again? No, I’m just worried about who will do his work if he gets hurt. Raymond and I would be swamped with work.’

Yes, that was it. She was just worried about the workload and how the other territories would think of it as an opportunity to attack once they hear Ferdinand got injured.

She wasn’t worried about him at all despite knowing he could just kill all those gigantic monsters all at once.

Yes, that must be it, right?

She kept trying to calm her raging heartbeat but her hands were still slightly trembling from seeing Ferdinand almost get hurt.

Arabella kept telling herself he wasn’t really about to get hurt anyway so there was nothing to be worried about.

After all, he surely knew an attack was incoming which was why he was able to avoid it and kill the monster so easily.

Ferdinand eliminated all the monsters quickly this time after noticing that Arabella was glaring at him.

However, as he was walking back to the barrier, another monster appeared. But silently and soundlessly unlike the previous batches which were too noisy and rowdy.

There was just one monster but it was so much larger than the previous ones both in girth and length and had a lot of tentacles. It had huge red eyes as well and it attacked Ferdinand from behind.

"Look out!" Arabella screamed along with the Safirans.

Ferdinand turned around and faced the monster without trying to dodge its incoming attack.

’What is he doing?!!’ Arabella panicked.

[Piss off. I have to speak with my wife. Don’t fucking get in my way!] Ferdinand suddenly released a dark and scary-looking aura.

The monster paused as if in fear but still continued its attack after a few seconds.

[Annoying creature. Why did that bastard have to make these things? I have no time for this. I have to know why my wife suddenly seems to be angry at me.]

Ferdinand launched an attack. It somehow looked more dangerous than the others and his stance was different.

It was just one slash from a distance but the monster stopped moving.

The incoming attack paused and Ferdinand turned around and walked back into the barrier without a second glance at the monster.

Arabella wanted to scream at him for getting so careless and turning around when the fight was not yet over.

However, the next instant, the monster’s body fell into pieces on the ground as if it had been attacked repeatedly. It crumbled to dust and vanished.

’He eliminated it with one attack?!’

Arabella was stunned that Ferdinand could kill a monster that huge with just one attack if he wanted to.

Bernardo and his comrades were amazed at how Ferdinand made it look so easy when they were never able to get past this monster when it appeared when they were trying to get into Safiro.

Arabella learned from their thoughts that this was the monster that bit off Miguel and Manuel’s hands.

It appeared so silently and without any presence so the two were too late when they sensed their life was in danger. Thankfully, Bernardo was there to save them. But even Bernardo lost an eye from the monster’s tentacles.

The Safiro siblings realized how lacking they were compared to Ferdinand. They thought they should try to get stronger. They also thought that they didn’t mind serving someone if it was someone as overwhelmingly strong as Ferdinand.

The Safirans who were once screaming in panic were dumbstruck in silence as Ferdinand walked back to Arabella’s side as if he didn’t accomplish a feat just now.

The knights meanwhile were smiling proudly at the faces everyone was making.

They adored and served Ferdinand due to his strength so they loved the times they were able to see him fight even if just for a bit.

"Long live His Majesty," the knights cheered and the Safirans soon followed.

No monster appeared again. Rendell and Riley concluded that the magician must have realized nothing would get past Ferdinand.

Ferdinand finally reached her and she scrutinized him from head to foot.

Arabella realized that not a speck of monster blood or dust remained on his clothes. There was no sign of wounds or injury as well.

She learned from Ferdinand’s thoughts that his clothes were enchanted with spells so he wouldn’t be soaked in blood all the time during and after a battle.

It also made cleaning up easier since it makes the dirt and blood vanish so his clothes would look just fine even after a fight.

Alwin was the one who suggested it after Aletha said that Arabella was scared at the sight of blood and would have nightmares due to it.

Ferdinand was bothered by it since he didn’t want Arabella to be terrified of him once she sees him with bloodied clothes. And like the perfect mage that he was, Alwin thus made a solution to his lord’s problem and used spells on Ferdinand’s clothes.

"Why does My Empress seem to be angry at me? Did I take too long?" Ferdinand kissed the back of her hand upon returning.

"I am not, Your Majesty. Thank you for eliminating the monsters. I have heard about your greatness but this is the first time I witnessed it," she didn’t get to watch him fight for long during the time he saved her as Sir Elmir after all.

Arabella donned a smile but this time, Ferdinand was able to tell she was faking it because she was too annoyed to properly act like she wasn’t.

[What did I do wrong? Did I drag the fight too long and made her bored? Oh, was she irritated because I didn’t kill the noisy monsters all at once? She was covering her ears earlier because they were too loud.]

Ferdinand didn’t get it at all and it irritate Arabella even more.
