Rebirth to take revenge
Chapter 112: Slap

Chapter 112: Slap

As soon as Alex finished speaking, Anna’s eyes widened in horror.

"You all can forget about ever stepping into the Miller family!" Alex’s voice was icy.

Hearing this, Mariah’s expression changed. She gritted her teeth and said, "Mr. Miller, I truly hoped to match you and Anna. I hope you can forgive me. Don’t worry, I will teach Anna well during this time. Your generosity is immense, and I can’t thank you enough for overlooking my past mistakes."

Mariah forced a smile.

"Are you done?" Alex asked, smirking slightly.

"That’s all," Mariah replied.

Alex motioned to the bodyguard beside him and said, "Take her away."

With that, several bodyguards stepped forward, restraining Anna and preparing to escort her out. Seeing this, Sebastian, who had been silent the entire time, could no longer hold back. He stepped forward, blocking their path, and shouted, "Don’t touch my daughter! Alex, don’t overstep!"

"If you’re so capable, come at me! Leave my daughter alone!"

Boom!

Alex kicked Sebastian in the abdomen, sending him staggering backward until he collapsed onto the ground. He clutched his stomach, howling in pain.

Seeing her father being assaulted by Alex, Anna’s face turned pale, her fists clenched tightly, nails digging into her palms without her noticing.

"Master Sebastian, since you want to protect her, I’ll gladly help." Alex glanced at the bodyguards and said in a deep voice.

Hearing this, two bodyguards stepped forward and carried Sebastian away.

Mariah rushed over, crying, "Alex, how can you treat Sebastian like this? Let him go!"

"Let him go?" Alex sneered. "Why should I let him go? Over the years, the things the Smith family has done... He knows them all too well. He should be grateful I punished him this lightly."

"As for you," Alex’s tone turned cold as ice, "I won’t make things easy for you either."

"What are you doing?" Mariah’s heart trembled, her face as pale as a sheet.

"What am I doing?" Alex laughed coldly. "Don’t you want to know the real relationship between Anna and me?"

With that, Alex slapped Anna across the face.

"Ah!"

A sharp slap echoed through the room, and Anna screamed, clutching her cheek.

"Alex, how dare you hit me?" Anna glared at him angrily, feeling wronged, tears welling in her eyes.

"My parents have cherished me since I was a child. How dare you hit me?"

"Do you know, if you keep acting like this, I will hate you for the rest of my life!"

"Hate me?" Alex sneered, as if hearing a joke.

"You?" he laughed coldly. "In my eyes, you’re no better than a rat living in the sewer. You’re revolting to look at. The hatred of a rat? Do you think I, Alex, would care?"

As soon as these words came out, everyone in the Smith family was shocked.

"You...how can you say that? I’m the eldest lady of the Smith family!"

"If I were a mouse, what would Claire be?"

"She’s a piece of rat shit! She’ll be hated everywhere."

Slap!

There was another crisp sound as Anna was slapped on the other side of her face.

She covered her burning face, full of grievance and desolation.

Sebastian was frightened and rushed over, but before he could get close to Alex, he was lifted up by two black-clad bodyguards.

Alex snorted coldly, ignoring the panicked father and daughter, and walked away. The remaining bodyguards escorted Anna and Sebastian into the car and followed Alex’s vehicle, leaving together.

Watching the distant cars, Mariah’s pupils trembled.

Had Alex noticed? Had he noticed everything? Now, things had developed in a direction she couldn’t control. All of this was forced by Claire! If it weren’t for her, if she had never appeared in City A, none of this would have happened!

Hatred surged in Mariah’s eyes, pushing all the blame onto Claire. Her gaze became colder and colder, as if it could freeze everything.

"Claire, I will make you taste what pain and despair are!"

In the car, Sebastian remained silent, his face as pale as paper, and his forehead covered in sweat. He knew that he had caused trouble today, and perhaps he would not survive.

"Dad..."

Suddenly, Anna’s voice sounded, with a hint of timidity.

"Where are they taking us?" she asked, extremely scared. She had been pampered since childhood—how could she have encountered something like this?

Sebastian took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. "It’s okay. Dad will save you."

"Really?" Anna’s bright eyes sparkled with surprise and expectation, but in her heart, she despised him. To her, Sebastian was a useless bookworm. If they were to find a breakthrough in this matter, they could only rely on her mother, Mariah.

Anna turned her head and looked towards the direction of the Smith family estate through the car window. "I wonder what my mother’s plan is."

Sebastian frowned and pondered for a moment before saying, "She should try her best. After all, she’s in the same boat as us now. Alex won’t make things too difficult for us. He only captured us to restrict your mother’s actions. As long as your mother behaves for a few days, he will let us go."

While comforting Anna, Sebastian was also trying to reassure himself. But upon hearing this, Anna’s face turned a little pale. She didn’t want Mariah to behave because time was running out for the Smith family!

The crisis the family had recently encountered was becoming more severe by the day. If they continued to delay, the Smith family would soon be surrounded by Alex’s people, and their every move would be monitored.

Anna bit her lip and secretly plotted while stealing glances at her father. He remained silent, his expression unreadable, and she didn’t know what he was thinking. She felt anxious but couldn’t make up her mind. After all, she was being watched by Alex’s people, and even if she had a plan, she couldn’t act on it. Now, all she could do was pray that her mother wouldn’t let her down!

Meanwhile, back at the Smith family estate, Mariah paced back and forth in the living room, her face full of anxiety. Her husband, and daughter, Anna, had left the Smith family estate half an hour ago.

Sebastian was useless, and her daughter Anna was even worse. Sebastian had always been ineffective, and now that he had fallen into Alex’s hands, who knew how he would die? If something really happened to her daughter, what would she do?

What worried her most was that the Smith family would be implicated and face retaliation. Although Alex hadn’t recalled everything and had only threatened her for what she had done yesterday, if Claire said something that implicated the Smith family, it was very likely the family would be destroyed.

The thought made Mariah’s heart race violently. On the other side, at the Miller

estate...

Sebastian and Anna were tied up in a van, their wrists bound behind their backs. Both were bruised and battered.

"Who sent you here?" Sebastian shouted angrily. "Quiet!" The driver glared at him.

"If you dare to harm us, even if we become ghosts, we won’t let you go!" Sebastian finished with determination.

Laughter filled the van. It was mocking, cold, and bloodthirsty.

"Tsk tsk tsk, you really do have Some backbone! Since you’re so tough, don’t blame me!"

"Hit him!"

"Yes, sir!"

As the order was given, the sound of fists and feet echoed in the van, followed by waves of pain through Sebastian’s body. He gritted his teeth and endured it.

Outside the van, Alex watched with a cold gaze and a sinister smile on his lips, as if he were watching a play.

"Bang! Bang!"

Sebastian was knocked unconscious. Anna rushed forward, crying out,

"Stop, stop! You can’t hit him! My father is innocent!"

"Little bitch, how dare you meddle in my business!"

A sharp slap landed on Anna’s cheek, and blood flowed down her face. She was stunned by the blow, covering her swollen cheek. Her eyes were full of resentment as she looked at Alex standing outside the van. At that moment, she understood the truth of her relationship with Alex.

They were never lovers; they had been enemies all along! She wished she could tear Alex to pieces, but at that moment, there was nothing she could do.

Alex’s men continued beating Sebastian.

"Stop, stop!" Anna screamed, throwing herself over her father to shield him. "If you want to hit him, hit me!" With a loud "smack" Anna was sent flying by one of Alex’s men. Though Sebastian’s head was spinning, he managed to stand up, pulling Anna into his arms.

"Anna!" he shouted. "Don’t hurt my daughter!"

Anna, held in Sebastian’s arms, tried to raise her head, her vision blurry. Her ears buzzed, and it felt like they were about to burst, but she still strained to open her eyes and see her father’s face clearly.

"Dad."

"Anna, are you okay? Dad will take you to the hospital immediately" Sebastian called out, his voice trembling with fear and his eyes red with panic.

This was his daughter, who had been well-behaved and sensible since childhood. She was their pride, always by his side and Mariah’s. And now, she was seriously hurt because of him.
