Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge -
Chapter 59: Ruined Mood
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Ruined Mood
Li Qiang, Xin Yan, and Li Chuxi visited Beijing’s most popular restaurant.
It was a resultant of Li Enterprises, so it was expected they would go there.
"Greetings, President Li and President Xin," said the manager, who had received a text message from Li Qiang informing him that they were going to have dinner at the restaurant.
"Your table is ready," the manager whispered, wiping away his sweat.
He went to work right away after receiving the message. Everything needed to be perfect or his job would be jeopardized.
He had planned the ideal romantic dinner, but he was not expecting a child to be added to the mix.
He lowered his head, surprised to see the child holding each of their hands.
He was taken aback and asked, "President Li, will she be eating with you?"
"Yes, she is our daughter; is it not appropriate for her to be with us while eating?" As she responded to him, Xin Yan tilted her head, her expression confused.
"C-child?" He took a step back in disbelief. He was unprepared for it.
Did this mean that all of our planning and preparations had been in vain? A child’s presence ruined the perfect romantic dinner.
The manager could not help but feel some resentment. Why did Li Qiang not notify him of the presence of a child?
"What is the problem? Can we proceed to our table or not?" Xin Yan noticed the manager looked pale and sweaty, so she inquired out of concern.
"The thing is, I had the impression that it would be just the two of you coming for dinner, so I set up a romantic atmosphere; I was not expecting the presence of a child," he could only admit to them because they would have an idea of what to do.
Xin Yan and Li Qiang exchanged surprised looks. Did they ever tell him to prepare a romantic dinner?
Xin Yan gave a mental facepalm. This manager had gone above and beyond his capabilities.
She exchanged glances with Li Qiang and noticed they shared the same expression in their eyes.
"Just give us a regular table," Li Qiang instructed, and the manager got to work right away.
Ten minutes later, the three-member family was seated at a regular table.
Xin Yan passed the menu to Li Chuxi. She asked her to select her favourite dishes.
Li Chuxi looked puzzled when he received the menu. She looked at her parents, unsure what she was to do.
"Tick whichever dish you like," Xin Yan instructed, and she nodded before scrolling through the menu.
She appeared a little disoriented because she did not understand what was written on the pages. She may be able to read and understand basic words, but the words on the menu appeared foreign to her, and she understood nothing written there.
Xin Yan noticed her expression and seemed to understand.
"You do not understand what is written there?" Xin Yan inquired and she raised her head with a sheepish expression.
"I am sorry, I do not really understand; I can only read basic words, but this is beyond me," she apologized with an apologetic smile.
"Hey, it is fine, it is not your fault; I think this is the best time to tell you that you will be resuming school at Beijing’s largest school," Li Qiang immediately butted in, and she looked at both of them in surprise.
"Are you saying I can go to school?" She inquired with suppressed enthusiasm in her voice.
"Of course, Chuxi, you will learn and make friends at school," Xin Yan replied, her smile softening.
"I will study hard to make mom and dad proud," Li Chuxi vowed, clenching her fists as Li Qiang ruffled her hair.
"I am confident you will," he added with a smile.
"I will assist you in placing your order," Xin Yan told her, and she nodded.
The family ordered their dish and enjoyed a hearty dinner.
However, while eating, someone decided to seek out trouble.
Who exactly was it?
Jiang Lanfen and Yuan Renshu!
"Xin Yan, what a surprise; I did not expect to find you here," Jiang Lanfen exclaimed with delight.
Xin Yan dropped her fork in frustration, staring at the two people she had grown to despise.
This was supposed to be a family dinner, but some people just had to show up and ruin her mood.
Li Qiang glared at the two, sensing her agitated mood. Li Chuxi noticed something was wrong with both of her parents, and it appeared to be their fault, so she did what her parents did: she glared at them.
Yuan Renshu and Jiang Lanfen were taken aback as they sensed hostile emotions from them, but it was even more surprising when their gazes met with a young girl.
"Who is she, Xin Yan?" Jiang Lanfen inquired, his face filled with curiosity.
"You do not need to know, and I thought I warned you not to come into my presence again," Xin Yan said, her eyes filled with disgust.
Jiang Lanfen had an uncomfortable expression on her face. She felt as if Xin Yan was insulting her in front of a young child.
"Xin Yan, we have been friends for a long time, and you also dated Yuan Renshu; I just wanted to know who she is because, whether you like it or not, we were close at one point," Jiang Lanfen observed Li Qiang’s expression as she spoke.
She wanted him to become enraged and start to suspect Xin Yan. Only Jiang Lanfen could have come up with such a ridiculous plan.
Xin Yan looked at her, scowling slightly. Jiang Lanfen had officially lost her ability to reason.
"I suppose Mr Yuan took away his wife, or he might not like my next move," Li Qiang said, giving Yuan Renshu a deep look and swallowing before pulling Jiang Lanfen away.
"They completely ruined my mood," Xin Yan said angrily as she sipped the juice through a straw.
"It is okay, mom; they have left; if they bother you again, just ignore them," Li Chuxi advised, laughing.
"Our Chuxi is so cute," she exclaimed, pinching her cheeks lightly as the little girl blushed.
