"Li Chuxi, why do you say that?" Xin Yan had an amused look on her face as she looked at the two people who had red faces.

"Did I say something wrong? I feel since you and dad are a couple, then it is only right for them to be together," Li Chuxi answered cutely.

Chen Wenling looked at the little girl and sighed. She surely was very mischievous.

"Chuxi, you do not have to say that, if they are meant to be, then, they will be together," Xin Yan explained to her.

She pouted her lips slightly before nodding.

"I am sorry Uncle Yang, I am sorry Aunt Wenling," she apologized sincerely.

"It is okay, I understand that you are also worried and have good intentions, it is fine, I am not angry," Chen Wenling ruffled the little girl’s hair.

She could not get angry at her no matter what happened.

"Just as Chen Wenling said, we are not angry, you only have good thoughts, so it is fine," Gao Yang replied and she nodded with a bright smile, though she still felt bad.

"Li Chuxi, do you want to eat out?" Li Qiang asked and she nodded with enthusiasm.

Li Qiang turned to look at Xin Yan who nodded. She would do anything for her daughter.

"It is final, I assure it will be nice," Xin Yan beamed while Li Chuxi had a bright smile on her face.

"What about you both? Will you head home or will you accompany us?" Li Qiang asked and they hastily shook their heads as though it was planned.

They knew that Li Qiang was just asking out of courtesy. He really didn’t mean it. It was a family dinner and they will be stupid to go along with them.

"Okay then," he gave a nod before directing the two females of his family out of the office, even though Xin Yan was not done with her work.

"You might want to leave, I still want to arrange this office," Chen Wenling tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her neck.

"I will be waiting for you," Gao Yang cleared his throat.

"If you say so then," she replied calmly but deep within her, she felt enthusiastic.

She quickly arranged and she gave a look to him before the both of them walked out.

"Why don’t we go for a walk?" He asked once they were out of the building.

She held her chin for a while before agreeing.

And so, the both of them walked down the street while engaging in little conversations to prevent the atmosphere from being awkward.

"So, are you the only child?" Gao Yang asked and she shook her head.

"I am not, I have an older brother but he is a jerk," Chen Wenling replied while Gao Yang chuckled.

"And why do you call him a jerk?" He asked with an amused smile.

"While I was still a kid, he always bullied me, I have this scar because of him," Chen Wenling lifted up her bangs which hid a very scary scar.

Gao Yang gasped lightly while she sighed.

"This is the reason I am always on bangs, I can’t let anyone see the hideous scar," she commented with a sad sigh.

Recalling what her jerk of a brother put her through while she was still young, she felt sad.

She had always loved her elder brother, regardless of the way he treated her but after the incident which caused her to have a big scar on her forehead, she slowly distanced herself from him.

She even left home as a result due to the fact that her parents were on her brother’s side.

"It is an old memory, I don’t want to think about it, oh look, it is something of the past, oh my, look, it’s my favourite snack," Chen Wenling suddenly pointed to a stand as she drooled over a snack.

She didn’t know when she pulled Gao Yang who could only follow her, helplessly.

"This is my favourite snack," she salivated as she watched the chef roll it. It looked enticing.

"You like egg cookie rolls?" He asked and she nodded.

"Okay," he replied, committing it to memory.

"Mr, can I have four please?" She asked with a childish smile and he nodded.

He was about packing it but she stopped him. It was best to have it hot, she was going to enjoy it that way.

"Can you eat it? It will be too hot for you," he asked her in concern.

"Do not worry, I will be fine, I have done this a lot, so I will be fine," she said to him.

The chef served it to her on a plate and she received it with a big smile on her face.

She quickly ate one but it was a little too hot for her so she began gasping for breaths.

Gao Yang became worried as he hurriedly grabbed a cup of milk.

"See, I told you it was going to be a little too hot, here take this," he said and handed the cup of milk to her.

She drank the entire contents of the milk as tears formed in her eyes.

"Do not stare at me that way, I told you from the start that it was going to be hot, but you did not listen to me, this is the end result," he chastised her and she pouted at him.

"I am sorry," she apologized and he shook his head. He had no idea as to why he was unable to get annoyed with her even if he tried.

"Just eat slowly," he instructed and she nodded.

This time around, she blew on it slowly before she took small bites of it and this time, she did not choke or cough.

She ate about ten pieces of egg cookie rolls before she finally felt satisfied.

She drank a cup of milk before she let out a satisfied belch.

She gave both Gao Yang and the chef an embarrassed smile.

"Are you satisfied now?" He asked and she nodded sheepishly.

"Can we leave now?" He asked and she nodded.

"Then let’s go," he said and they both walked away.

Both unknown to them, there was a pair of eyes watching their every move.
