Chapter 46: Gotten The Truth

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Gotten The Truth

"Why are you laughing yet again?" Jiang Lanfen grimaced. She got the impression that Xin Yan had a loose screw.

"Why can not I laugh? I mean, your request is a little excessive; do not you agree?" Xin Yan smiled as she asked.

"Waiter, a cup of coffee please, my throat is parched," Jiang Lanfen did not bother to respond to Xin Yan because she was thirsty, but her simple request for coffee raised Xin Yan’s suspicions.

’𝑰𝒔 π’˜π’‰π’š π’Šπ’” π’‚π’”π’Œπ’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’ƒπ’‚π’ƒπ’š?’ Xin Yan thought to herself as she squinted at Jiang Lanfen.

"Xin Yan, could you not just accept my humble request? If you get him released, I promise you that we will not appear in front of you," Jiang Lanfen humbly pleaded, as the waiter brought the cup of coffee.

"Thank you," she said, taking a sip from her cup of coffee.

"Are you not pregnant?" So why do you drink coffee? Xin Yan could not stop herself from asking the question.

Jiang Lanfen coughed loudly. She had forgotten the pregnant persona that she had created for herself.

"What is the problem?" Xin Yan asked.

"It is none of your business whether I drink coffee. It is not your child, is it?" Jiang Lanfen swallowed with a guilty conscience.

"Yes, it is not my business; it is my fault for being concerned about your child; however, in order to stop you from constantly bothering me, I will contact the police; are you happy now?" Xin Yan shook her head.

"Once he is released, do not come in front of me again," Xin Yan stood up and exited the cafΓ©.

She paused at the entrance and smiled as she looked at Jiang Lanfen, who was still taking small sips from the glass of coffee.

’𝑰𝒕 π‘΄π’Šπ’”π’” π’Šπ’”π’β€™π’• 𝒃𝒖𝒕 π’˜π’‰π’š π’Šπ’” Xin Yan thought to herself before she left the cafΓ©.

’𝑩𝒖𝒕 π’Šπ’• π’Šπ’” π’Šπ’” π’•π’‚π’π’Œ 𝑰 π’˜π’‚π’π’• π’Žπ’š 𝒀𝒖𝒂𝒏 she thought to herself.

𝒅𝒂𝒅, π’˜π’Šπ’•π’‰ π’‰π’Šπ’” π‘Ώπ’Šπ’ 𝒀𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒔 she decided before she brought out her phone to dial her dad’s number.

Meanwhile, Xin Yan proceeded directly to her car. She gave a slight smirk, as if she had discovered a huge secret.

She was well aware of the reasons for her decision to release him. She had a feeling they were planning a conspiracy, and what better way to help them than to free the one who could help them, Yuan Renshu.

She did not believe Jiang Lanfen’s promise to never appear in her presence again; knowing the couple, she would not trust their words.

"It is time I left for the site; my team members are already there," safe muttered to herself as she looked at her phone.

She planned to personally supervise this project because she did not want anything to go wrong. Uncle Guan had already put his trust in her when he awarded her the land, and she did not want to disappoint him. As Li Qiang entered the abandoned building, he was greeted with shouts of "Boss."

He nodded to all of them. There were approximately seven people in the room.

"Has he said anything?" Li Qiang inquired as he leaned against his wall, his eyelashes drooping slightly, casting a shadow on him.

"Unfortunately, he hasn’t; he is extremely tough; it is as if he is waiting for death," the person in charge stated.

"Take me to him," Li Qiang instructed. He was unable to blame these people. They had no real understanding of the man’s mind.

They entered an underground passageway via a door. It was dark, but these men were used to it, so they did not worry too much about it.

They walked down a spiral of stairs that eventually led to a door. One of the men hurriedly opened the door for Li Qiang, who entered.

The room was completely dark. Li Qiang looked at one of the men in the darkness, and the light was abruptly turned on, startling the man in the room.

He groaned slightly as he adjusted his eyes to the light. The man was none other than Butler Yu.

"Will you guys let me leave? Butler Yu groaned as he pleaded, hoping they would listen and release him. "You really can not find out anything from me," he said repeatedly.

"But I believe you are keeping something from me?" Butler Yu panicked when Li Qiang unexpectedly spoke up.

The butler screamed in his head, ’Li Qiang has arrived.

"I understand you are not pleased to see me here, but what can I do? "I need to get something out of you so that Xin Yan can rest," Li Qiang smiled as he took a seat in front of you, causing Butler you to recoil in fear.

"What makes you so afraid of me? "I am not going to bite; by the way, I know who you work for." Li Qiang tapped the table rhythmically.

"Do you happen to know who I work for?" Butler Yu squinted at Li Qiang, unsure if he was really playing with him.

"Of course," Li Qiang said, nodding positively.

"You are not trying to trick me, are you?" Butler Yu inquired, prompting Li Qiang to give a frosty expression.

"Am I one to tell lies? Jiang Zhengzhou is your boss; you can not reveal his identity because he controls your family," Li Qiang stated.

"You really found out," Butler Yu said, trembling.

"He is going to kill my family, my children will not be spared from his wrath, he will kill them, he is too ruthless, please spare my family, I do not want my family to be killed, I will tell you everything as long as you protect my wife and children," Butler Yu begged.

The men in the room were all impressed by Li Qiang. He had only said a sentence, but the butler was already prepared to confess.

"How can I protect your family if I have no idea where they live or where I can find them?" Li Qiang gave him a helpless look, hoping to elicit more information from him.

Butler Yu completely gave in, saying, "I will tell you everything, where they live, and who Jiang Zhengzhou is."

It was better that he bet on Li Qiang. He knew Jiang Zhengzhou could murder his family with a single snap of his fingers, so he could only protect them by confessing.

Thirty minutes later.

"Boss, you are really amazing; you got the truth out of him right away," one of the men said, complimenting Li Qiang, who smiled modestly.
