"President, you have got to pity single dogs like me," Gao Yang complained bitterly.

Li Qiang sneered at him, disdain in his eyes, "Then get a girlfriend, it is not that difficult."

Gao Yang could only bow his head pitifully, "How was he going to get a girlfriend?"

When Xin Yan walked into the company, she ran into Chen Wenling.

"Follow me," she ordered, and Chen Wenling swallowed, wondering if she had irritated her.

"What happened with your phone?" Xin Yan inquired as they entered the office.

Chen Wenling stiffened as she remembered what had happened the day before.

"I was attacked yesterday, but Gao Yang saved me," she quickly responded.

She did not want to waste time because she was afraid of what Xin Yan would do.

"Details," Xin Yan uttered. She was curious as to what had actually happened. She had a feeling it was connected to the thugs from yesterday.

"My landlord attempted to assault me yesterday; he was enraged that his men had been arrested," Chen Wenling bit her lip as she recalled the danger she faced yesterday.

"Come on," Xin Yan urged.

"He came to my apartment with three men and tried to force themselves on me, I struggled and cried for help, but no one came to my rescue, I called Gao Yang and he picked up, he could only hear my cries before my phone was smashed by my landlord, I felt helpless, but Gao Yang appeared just in the nick of time and saved me," Chen Wenling was already in tears by the time she finished narrating.

Xin Yan’s eyes hardened as she listened. She could not imagine what had happened to Chen Wenling.

"They will pay for attempting to mess with you," Xin Yan vowed as she walked towards her.

"Are you fine now? "I hope you were not hurt." Xin Yan inquired, her concern visible in her eyes.

"I am fine, President; thankfully, Gao Yang arrived on time," Chen Wenling stated, not wanting to bother her.

"I will ensure that they spend their entire lives in jail; they should no longer be forced to harass any girl," Xin Yan promised.

"Thank you, President; you are truly divine," Chen Wenling said, staring at her with wide eyes.

"I do not consider myself to be divine; I can not just ignore what I find wrong, can I? Xin Yan smiled as she stroked her own hair.

Chen Wenling was two years younger than her, so she thought of her as the sister she never had.

"All right, we have to get back to work; I have an appointment later this afternoon, but I will have to go alone," Xin Yan told her.

The appointment was with Jiang Lanfen. She had already communicated the time to her.

"Alright, President, I will be in my office," Chen Wenling told her as she left for her office.

Xin Yan plopped into her office chair, smiling.

Her thoughts turned to Li Qiang, and she wondered what he was doing at the moment.

She was thinking about Li Qiang, who was currently in his office reading through some files. The distance between the two companies was negligible, which meant they were not too far apart.

He continued to flip through the papers with a frown on his face.

"Get me Manager Feng," he ordered Gao Yang with a grim expression.

Gao Yang took a slight gulp. He had every reason to suspect Manager Feng had done something wrong. He could only light one candle ahead of time for the manager.

Soon, the manager arrived, drenched, and called out, "President."

"Okay, now could you explain these?" Li Qiang threw two files at him, and a fine sheen of sweat appeared on his brow.

He picked up the documents with trembling hands. He looked at Li Qiang, who gave him permission to open it.

He realized he had been cornered and had nowhere to run.

He could only open the files with trembling hands. And as he read through the files, his face turned horrified.

His breathing became heavy, and he knew he was done.

"President," he called, his voice trembling as he appeared terrified. He turned cold as he considered the punishment he was about to face.

"Do you have something to say?" Li Qiang inquired and shook his head. His career was about to come to an end due to his insatiable desire.

"I was not expecting this from you, Manager Feng; you were my father’s closest friend, and doing this now that I am in power does not suit you at all," Li Qiang said, completely disappointed.

He had always addressed him as Uncle Feng, but he did not expect this Uncle Feng to steal from his company, and the amount stolen was not small: 500 million yuan.
