Xin Yi looked at the girl who looked at him worriedly, and he sighed.

"Years ago, I and the other guys witnessed Fu Ji rape a girl to death," he paused, his hands were clenched, veins popped out, and it was obvious he was trying his best to hold back from bursting out in anger.

"We had wanted to report, but he threatened us, and what could we have done? We were still teens then, I watched him brutalize the girl, and I was unable to do anything,

Recalling those days made me realize how weak I was, I was nothing but a young master with no power, maybe if I was a bit powerful, I could have saved the girl from death," Xin Yi still felt bad about that particular day.

He had nightmares throughout that year, and even up until this present day, he still had nightmares.

Zhang Luiying could not utter a word. She had thought Fu Ji would not shock her with his actions, but she was very wrong..

He had brutalised a girl. He gave the girl a painful death. Rape before death, something she would not want any girl to experience. It was something every girl should dread.

She hugged him all of a sudden, shocking him immensely.

"There there, I am here with you," she patted his back reassuringly, and he chuckled.

Perhaps, this was what he needed. A hug from someone very close to him.

"I am fine, with you here, I do not need to worry," he returned the hug, and she disentangled from his body with a grin on her face.

"Want to bathe together?" She asked with a teasing smile on her face.

Xin Yi looked at the little vixen, and he raised his eyebrows. He could tell that she was inviting him, and he wasn’t that daft to ignore the invite.

"Is this an invitation?" He asked while his eyes glinted with a teasing look.

"You can take it whatever way you wish to take it as," she chuckled, before entering into the shower.

Xin Yi’s eyes darkened as he watched her sway her body into the shower, and he could not hold back before following her as well.

Forty minutes later, the couple came out of the shower. Zhang Luiying was panting with a red face, while Xin Yi had a satisfied smile on his face.

It was clear that the couple did more than showering, but also took care of other business.

Zhang Luiying felt a sharp pain in between her thighs, and she turned to glare at him.

"Don’t give me such a look, you were the one who invited me, as a hotblooded male, do you think I would refuse, think again," he chuckled before walking to his closet, leaving her to glare at his back in regret and pain.

The couple left the house soon after they were done dressing up. They were going to meet the others at the Xin’s Residence firstly, before they moved to the location of the race.

While driving, Zhang Luiying could not stop staring at Xin Yi. She was just too attracted to him, and she was unable to take her eyes off him.

Her attention was divided when her phone which was on her laps rang. She frowned because the phone had taken away her attention from her husband.

Nevertheless, she still picked up the call, though she was wary as it was from an unknown number.

Xin Yi sensed her mood change, and he turned to look at her. He wondered who was the one who caused her mood to change drastically.

"Hello," she spoke up with a frown. It was not her intention to pick the call, but she found herself picking the call, and wanting to know who it was. She felt that if she did not pick the call, she would be missing out on an important piece of information.

"Luiying, you will pay for your parents’ misdeeds," the person on the other end declared. It was a man’s voice.

There was no telling if it was a man or a female using a voice changer, but nevertheless, Zhang Luiying was scared.

"Who are you? And what do you want?" Zhang Luiying’s breath turned heavy on hearing what the person had said.

"You do not need to know my identity, just be prepared, you and your siblings are watched, and would face troubles," the stranger cackled loudly.

Zhang Luiying looked around as her entire body shivered in fear just by listening to his cackle.

The call was disconnected immediately, and Zhang Luiying’s body trembled.

Xin Yi, worried paused in his driving touched her slightly, and she jerked immediately.

"Relax, it is me," he spoke on seeing her worried look.

She heaved a sigh before letting her guard down.

"Who was that?" He questioned.

"I don’t know, but it should be related to the person who switched me at birth," she exhaled through her nostrils.

"Let me have the number, I will have it investigated, I do not want you to be hurt," Xin Yi was worried as he stared at her pale face.

"I know, and I will be fine because you are here with me," she gave him a weak smile.

"Forget about it for now, you have to focus on the race, do not bother about me," even currently, Zhang Luiying cared more about the competition, than she did herself.

Xin Yi fixed his gaze on her without saying anything.

"What is wrong? Do I have something on my face?" She asked as her hands glided around her face trying to see if she would find any dirt.

"What are you made of?" He blurted out.

"Uh?" She asked with a confused smile.

"Your life is literally at stake here, and you are unwilling to let me investigate this issue, you care more about this race than I do, I want you to be safe because I love you, and I cannot do without you!"

He yelled at her, causing her to shudder. He held his forehead, feeling exasperated. Not only that, but he had no idea how he was to explain it to her.
