Chapter 131: Chapter 131: What Does He Want?

"I am fine," he places his palms on hers while squeezing it tightly, while he whispers those words to her.

"You do not look okay, I know your grandfather’s disappearance hurt you, and you would rather not look for him because you want to respect his decision, just be calm," she whispered back to him and a low chuckle reverberated from her chest.

"I understand," he patted the hands which he was still holding.

Everyone at the table looked at them whispering to one another, and they were confused.

After dinner, they played some games. It was more of the kids playing it, though. When the kids got sleepy, they all retired to bed.

Tomorrow was a big day. It was the day of the challenge, and they all wanted to be revitalized before then. 𝑋𝑖𝑛 𝑌𝑖’𝑠

Zhang Luiying was the first to wake up. She looked towards her side, and she noticed that he was still sleeping peacefully.

He had spent all night practicing, and she was glad that his skills were not rusty. Instead, it was like they improved the more. After all, she had always watched all his matches, and she knew his tactics.

He seemed to have learned a new one. Fu Ji was going down!

She smiled slightly, before leaving for the bathroom. She felt that it was best to let him sleep some more. Not only that, but she did not want him tired when driving.

Her eyes flashed with an intense light as she thought about what Fu Ji had done. She looked at her phone, and exhaled.

After the competition, no matter the winner, 𝑋𝑖𝑛 𝑌𝑖 she was going to send Fu Ji to jail.

He had crimes stacked against him, and she wanted nothing more than to send him to jail for his misdeeds.

After ten minutes, she felt a presence behind her, and she was more than aware of who that was.

"Xin Yi," she called out without turning backwards, and his hands snaked around her waist after hearing her call out his name.

"Hmm," he murmured sleepily, resting his chin on her shoulder blade.

"I am tired," he grumbled.

Zhang Luiying looked at their reflection in the mirror, and she had to admit, they both looked good together.

Their face card never declined. It was rare for someone to be compatible with Xin Yi, but she was able to pull it off effortlessly. She felt a bit proud of that.

"Yi, no matter who the winner is, I am sending Fu Ji to jail," she spoke up.

"How do you want to send him to jail? You need evidence to send someone to jail, or do not tell me you have enough evidence against him?" Xin Yi asked with a joking smile, but the smile wiped off when he noticed she was silent.

"You have evidence, don’t you?" He asked with a certain look.

"I have gathered a lot, it turns out you are not the only one he forced out of the industry, except yours is a bit moderate," she replied.

"Moderate? That bastard broke my wrists, it is a miracle the doctor got it treated, and it is working perfectly now," Xin Yi scoffed.

What could beat his?

"One was accused of doping which resulted in banning, he can only make a living using a chicken soup shop, another’s family were threatened, and he cannot come back to the industry, and the last one was murdered in cold blood, looking at all these cases, yours is definitely moderate, he went easy on you," Zhang Luiying informed him without blinking her eyes.

Xin Yi shivered immediately. He knew who she was referring to. He was close friends with all of them. The one who died was literally his best friend.

His death came as a surprise to it, and once the police investigated, it was said to be suicide. Obviously, it was not the case.

"That bastard! He killed Qiao Feng!" Xin Yi was irate. Qiao Feng was his closest buddy, and he ended up dead just because of a man’s jealousy.

"You both were friends?" Zhang Luiying was taken aback by this piece of information.

"Yes, I am friends with everyone mentioned on this list, I have no idea what could have prompted him against us, we all trained together, I do not get where the jealousy is coming from," Xin Yi gritted his teeth in annoyance.

"I probably should not have told you," Zhang Luiying could sense that his emotions were all over the place, and she was worried it would affect his performance later on.

"You do not need to worry, Yingying, this is clearly the best way for me to avenge my buddies, if you hadn’t told me, I would have remained lax," Xin Yi explained to her.

He was happy to have such a good wife who was worried about him.

"Are you sure?" She asked, squinting at him through the mirror.

"I am very sure, I think I have an idea as to why he is doing this," he spoke up.

Zhang Luiying’s ears perked up on hearing what he said.

"And what could be the reason? We both know that jealousy is the main cause of his actions, are there any others in which I am not aware of?" She asked.

Xin Yi removed his hands from her waist as he backed away from her a bit. She turned to look at him with a curious look in her eyes.

She was genuinely interested in what he had to say. But Xin Yi had a grave look on his face, which caused her to be worried.

"Do not bother about it," he said to her. He did not want to recall those days, nor did he want her to know about those horrible days.

Zhang Luiying could tell that he had a lot to say, but he was scared.

She walked to him, placed her hands in his, looked into his eyes, before opening her mouth to say, "you can always tell me what is bothering you, I would always be here to listen."
