Chapter 130: Helping Each Other Out
Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Helping Each Other Out
The video was played, and the grandparents watched it. After it was over, the two could not contain their emotions.
"W-what is this? Is he the reason for their deaths?" Grandma Xin asked, her hands trembled as she stood up shaking.
"He is, and he has been trying to take over the company, I barely managed to stop him," Xin Yan spoke up, her voice sounded cold, devoid of any emotions.
Grandpa Xin turned to look at Xin Yan, "how were you able to find this?" He asked.
"I baited Jiang Lanfen, presently, she is in jail, and I planned with the officers to live stream her conversation with her dad,
I just had that feeling that there might be a reason for their hatred towards us, I never expected it to be like this," Xin Yan explained, her hand clenched by her side as she sat on the couch.
"You have worked hard, I will take it up from here," he said to her, and she nodded in response. She would rather not handle it as she would use her emotions which was something she did not want.
It was best to let her grandfather take over, it was the best approach they could take.
"Will you head back home, or do you want to stay for the night?" Grandma Xin asked.
It was surprising how they were able to adapt to the situation, but this was the character of each member of the Xins. They would rather not sulk about an issue,
Both it did not mean they were not hurt. They just had a different approach towards certain issues, which was commendable.
"We will stay for the night," Li Qiang did not give Xin Yan a chance to refuse.
He knew that she needed to be surrounded by close people, and what better people than her family.
"Do we inform Brother?" Xin Yan asked.
"No, he has a challenge tomorrow, he needs to be in good shape, mentally, telling him might result into unspeakable consequences," Grandma Xin refused they told him.
"Do you want to have dinner? I could ask the chef to whip up something for you," Grandma Xin inquired.
"Do not bother, I am not hungry," she replied with a tired voice.
"I will be in my room," she informed them, before making her way upstairs.
The grandparents, alongside her kids, watched as she made her way up the stairs. She was undoubtedly the one who was hurt the most from this ordeal.
She had been young then, and she had to witness her parents’ deaths happen right in front of her. It was such a traumatic experience for her, and it was a miracle she was able to overcome the trauma.
"I will go speak with her," Li Qiang mentioned, before also leaving the living room, following her.
"I hope she comes out of it, I remember when she was saved after their deaths, she did not say a word for a whole year, she lost her smile, it was a horrific time for us, I only hope she does not go back to her dark days," Grandma Xin commented with a sigh.
Grandpa Xin on the other hand rubbed her arms as he assured her, "she has Li Qiang now, I know he will not let her go back to those awful days, and if he is incapable, just take a look at her kids, they will also help her."
There was no telling if Grandpa Xin was assuring her or himself. Likewise, He was afraid that she would go back to being reticent. He just hoped she had the courage to deal with it.
"Grandma, grandpa is right, we might not be aware of what is going on with mom, but we will try our best to help mom retain her smile," Li Meimei was determined, as her sister fiercely nodded her head.
"I know you two will do so," Grandma Xin smiled at the two adorable kids, who smiled widely.
"Grandma, I hope mum will be fine," Li Chuxi folded her palms together, and prayed.
"She will be fine, your dad is with her," Grandpa Xin consoled the two kids.
They might look strong, but he knew they were barely trying to contain their sadness.
In the room, Li Qiang found her seated on the bed with her eyes closed when he made his way into the room.
"Xin Yan," he called out slightly, and she opened her eyes immediately.
"You are here, why don’t you stay downstairs and have a chat with grandpa and grandma?" She asked as she watched him take a seat at the edge of the bed.
"My wife is in a bad mood, and I only care about my wife," Li Qiang did not hesitate in uttering these words.
Xin Yan felt her heart ripple. Time and time again, he did not fail to always make her feel loved.
"What do I do with you?" Xin Yan facepalmed with a small smile on her lips.
"Sadly, you cannot do anything, you are stuck with me for life, I told you earlier, if you want to cry, you can cry, my shoulders are always here for you to lean on," he assured her, and her eyes turned misty immediately.
"You always say things which will cause me to feel emotional at times, why?" She questioned as she forced back her tears.
Li Qiang smiled at her. This was what he wanted to see. He did not need her holding her back on letting out her emotions. If she did that, it would eat deep into her, and end up destroying her mental health, he did not want that happening.
He stood up, and walked to her side, "little bunny, cry."
His voice was the last straw as tears fell from her eyes. Her entire body convulsed and trembled. She had been holding back for too long, and his voice was the breaking point for her.
"There, cry it all out, no one is here to mock you," he pacified her as he took a seat beside her, and rubbed her back.
Xin Yan had no idea how long she cried. She only knew that once she was done, she felt better.
"Thank you, but it seemed your shirt got the better of it," she cleaned her eyes, but was suddenly handed a handkerchief.
She looked at him, and he nodded at her before she collected the handkerchief.
"How do you feel now?" He asked with worry, still having her in his hands.
"I feel better, thank you," she replied.
"See, it was not that hard, and I certainly did not make fun of you," he teased her, while she chuckled in reply.
"Will you have dinner now? Your grandparents are worried, and so are the kids, I am also worried about you," he asked with concern.
She wanted to say no, but she noticed that he looked very concerned, and again, she was on her period presently, she would be the one suffering at the end of the day, so it was inappropriate to starve herself. It was not worth it.
"I am hungry," she commented with a pout, and he chuckled looking at her childish attitude.
"Let’s go, the good food might be eaten by them," he joked, and they both exited the room.
Once they made their way to the dining room, everyone at the table heaved sighs of relief.
"It’s good that you are here, have your seat, I was not aware that you were going to show up, but your kids have the same taste as you, and therefore, your favorite was made," Grandma Xin was elated that she came down for dinner.
She looked at Li Qiang, who pulled out seat for her, and she felt grateful that her granddaughter was blessed with such a man.
"Let’s have dinner," Grandpa Xin stated, and the family had dinner.
Halfway into the dinner, Li Qiang was questioned.
"Have you heard from your grandfather, Qiang?" Grandpa Xin questioned, and he paused in his eating.
Everyone turned to look at Li Qiang.
"I have not heard from him, I do not know what is going through his mind, but I believe he has a superb reason for leaving without informing anyone," Li Qiang replied.
He looked calm on the surface, but if you looked carefully, you could see his hands were clenched around his chopsticks. He was holding back on his emotions, he would rather not break down.
Xin Yan looked at him, and a frown marred her face.
She could sense his increasing negative emotions, and she wanted him to be fine. He was there for her, and he continues to be there, so she wants to do the same for him.
Thus, she placed her palm on his laps secretly, rubbing it reassuringly.
Li Qiang was stunned by her actions as he turned to look at her.
She blinked innocently, while she gave him a smile. He returned the smile to her. He knew what she was trying to do, he understood her body language.
