Li Qiang was about to stop her, but he refrained from doing so. He suddenly realized what his wife was planning, and he was not willing to disrupt her plans.

He would only step in when he sees that she is unable to handle it.

Jiang Lanfen watched her approach her, and a smirk played on her lips.

"Jiang Lanfen, it is best for you to obey the police officers," Xin Yan carefully approached her.

She was well aware of the fact that Jiang Lanfen was dangerous at present, she could only tread carefully with her.

"You want me to follow the officers? Did you hear what you just said? You are the reason for my present situation, it is all your fault," Jiang Lanfen swung the stake towards her, and she took a step back.

She heaved a sigh before approaching her once more, she had to put an end to this issue. It was already dragging on for a while.

"Jiang Lanfen, put away the stake, I promise that your term won’t be long if you obediently listen to the officers, but it will not be the case if you decide to do otherwise," Xin Yan cautiously spoke.

She would be lying if she said she was not scared of the stake which she held in her hand. It had a very sharp edge, and if stabbed into someone, it could cause a fatal injury.

"You are sending me to prison, while you ask me to be calm, I do not think it works that way," Jiang Lanfen was already letting her guard down.

"I assure you, the officers would listen to me, is that not so Officer Ma?" Xin Yan turned to look at him, and she winked at him.

He let out an ’oh!’ almost immediately. He came to the sudden realization of what Xin Yan was planning.

Thus, he gestured to his subordinates, thankfully they have been with him for a long time, and they could understand what he meant with his hand gestures.

"I might be sending you to prison, but I assure you that you are not going to suffer there, that is my promise to you, you would not know when you leave the prison," Xin Yan pressed on seeing that she was paying attention to her, and had forgotten about her surroundings.

Li Qiang watched as she (Xin Yan) handled her (Jiang Lanfen), and he had his heart in his mouth. He was scared, worried about what could happen if Jiang Lanfen caught on to what she was doing.

"Is that so?" She asked, and she was not aware as to when the stake fell from her hands.

Immediately the stake dropped to the ground, the police officers surrounded her. She looked towards Xin Yan who had gone back to stand beside Li Qiang.

"You trapped me," Jiang Lanfen commented with a sad smile.

"I did not," Xin Yan refuted the claims, and it was the truth.

Xin Yan only used reverse psychology, and it worked very well.

Jiang Lanfen lowered her head in defeat. She knew this was the end for her, but she was unwilling. She was not ready to accept the fact that she was defeated by Xin Yan, she felt it to be a stain on her body.

"So is this the end for me?" She asked with a defeated chuckle as she stretched her hands for the officer to handcuff her.

Xin Yan could only stare at her in return. She had no idea what reply she could give her.

"I will visit you in prison, and I hope when you come out, you will be a changed person," Xin Yan uttered these words to her.

Jiang Lanfen nodded with a small smile, one could notice her eyes were filled with tears as the officers led her away.

"That is over," Xin Yan exhaled in satisfaction.

She turned to look at Li Qiang who was quiet, he did not say anything as he fixed his intense gaze on her.

"What is wrong?" She asked with a confused smile. He was glaring at her, as though he was eager to eat her up. She did not know if she had done something, or rather she did not want to think about what she had done.

"I told you not to get hurt," he pursed his lips, while he scrutinized her from top to bottom.

"But I did not," she replied, checking herself for any signs of injury, but she did not find any.

"You did," he refuted almost immediately, and she flinched due to how loud he sounded.

"I am sorry for shouting," he apologized on seeing that he had scared her.

"But you have been holding your stomach since I came in," he commented, and she immediately removed her hands from her stomach, while staring at him with her mouth opened.

"You do not need to hide it from me, I noticed it immediately I came in, you are not that smart enough, and you cannot hide it from me," he stated.

She swallowed because she was aware that she could be in trouble. This was what he asked of her, and she failed to follow through to it.

"I am sorry, I was not expecting her to kick me all of a sudden, it came as a surprise to me, and I could not defend myself," she explained to him, hoping he would believe her.

"Does it hurt?" He asked with concern, and she nodded in reply, while pouting.

"Let’s visit the doctor," he caught her off guard by suddenly picking her up in a princess style.

"Ah!" She gasped, wrapping her hands around his neck as she was not expecting him to pick her up so suddenly.

"Sometimes, you should really think of me, and our kids," he advised as they walked out of the building. The police had already left with Jiang Lanfen.

"I have something to ask you," she suddenly spoke up, as she stared into his eyes.

"What is that?" He asked as they approached their car. He placed her in the passenger’s seat, before walking to the driver’s seat.

"You can ask now," he said to her, while he ignited the car.

"If I ever die before you...," Before she could complete her statement, the car which was on the move previously came to a halt.

"Don’t you dare say that! You have died before, I do not want to lose you again," Li Qiang’s breathing turned heavy as he looked at her with bloodshot eyes.

He feared the word ’death,’ especially coming from her.
