Xin Yan shuddered by his yell.

"It was just a hypothetical question, I was only asking," Xin Yan clarified with her voice lowered.

"I do not want such hypothetical questions from you anymore, I will not take it," Li Qiang shook his head.

He speculated on what was going on through her mind, and he was close to opening her brain to see how she was wired.

"I am sorry if I made you scared, I just wanted to know," she apologized, seeing the look in his eyes. She seemed to have finally realized that he feared her words.

"There is no need to know, you are not dying, tell me, did she say something which caused you to act this way?" Li Qiang questioned, she swallowed in response.

"What did she say?" He questioned, he had gotten his answer just by looking at her.

"She said that..." Xin Yan recounted Jiang Lanfen’s words to Li Qiang, she did not omit any details.

"That..." Li Qiang closed his eyes, he was about to curse, but he was able to hold himself back, but that did not mean he was not mad.

In fact, he was raging, and his blood was boiling. He would never have imagined that Jiang Lanfen would be so insensitive and utter such words to Xin Yan.

To Xin Yan, she must have a trauma. She might not mention it to him, but he was more than sure that she had nightmares during the nights.

He could not count how many times Xin Yan had woken up from a nightmare, he never mentioned it to her because he was well aware as to what sort of person she was.

"I am sorry, but I would have to ask them to increase her jail-term," Li Qiang clenched his teeth, and tried to contain his anger.

"But the judge would have to judge her, you cannot influence the... She trailed off as she turned to see his knowing smile.

She had somewhat forgotten the sort of husband she had married.

"You can convince the judge, is that it?" She asked while fiddling with her fingers.

He did not respond, but the smirk on his lips was enough for her to know the answer.

Now, she feels sorry for Jiang Lanfen. She had caused this issue.

"There is no need to feel sorry for her, she had it coming," Li Qiang spoke up, before he ignited the car and continued the journey.

Xin Yan turned to look at him, her lips parted. She wondered if he was a psychic, for he always knew what was on her mind.

"I am no psychic little bunny, I just happen to know what you are thinking," Li Qiang commented with a chuckle.

Xin Yan could only stare at him with speechlessness.

"Silly, you were not thinking about those things, you were saying it out loud," Li Qiang laughed out loud due to her silliness.

Xin Yan’s face changed as she looked at him with pouted lips, her eyes suddenly shimmered with tears, and it looked as though she would cry anytime soon.

"You teased me," she whined. Her voice croaked as she turned away from him.

Li Qiang was caught off guard by her sudden change in emotions. He had no idea how he was going to pacify her.

"I am sorry, I did not mean to tease you, you looked charming, and I found myself teasing you," he quickly apologized, and he hoped she forgave him.

"You are not sorry, this is the second time you are teasing me in just two days," Xin Yan was not willing to look at him, as she continued to look at the window.

In simple words, she was throwing a tantrum. Li Qiang found her to be cute and lovely, he wanted to tease her once more, but he held back.

"I am sorry, I promise not to tease you anymore," he promised sincerely.

"Are you sure?" She turned to look at him as she questioned him.

"I promise," he was more sincere than earlier.

"Then I will be counting on you to keep your word," she stated, and he nodded.

They drove to the hospital, and had her checked. Thankfully, it was not something huge. She only needed to rest, and the sort of rest the doctor mentioned was a bed rest.

"You heard what the doctor said, you need maximum bed rest," Li Qiang laid heavy emphasis on the word, ’bed.’

"But I know my body best, the doctor does not know what he is saying, I don’t need bed rest," Xin Yan was miffed.

She did not know how she would cope having to lay on the bed for a week.

She just took over Jiang’s corporation, there were still countless things she needed to do to bring it back up, and now she was asked to stay on the bed for a week! That was absurd!

She shook her head, she was not going to listen to the doctor. After all, it was her body, and she knew it best. She did not need a lousy doctor to dictate to her.

Li Qiang noticed her silence, and he turned to look at her.

He exhaled through his nose. He knew the look she had on her face very well. It was the look which depicted; ’Alright, you have said your piece, and I am happy for that, but I would do what my mind tells me to do.’

"Xin Yan," he called out in a deep voice, while still driving. They were already approaching their estate, so he slowed down.

"Hmm," she faced him with a smile on her face, a mischievous smile, one which showed perfectly what she was planning.

"Do not go on with what you are planning to do, the doctor said you required bed rest, and you would have to listen to the doctor," he warned in a deep voice.

She nodded to his words, albeit she had other plans in mind, and Li Qiang was of course aware of what she wanted to do.
