Suddenly, her eyes landed on a stake, and she grinned smugly.

Then I believe this stake would be enough to destroy you," Jiang Lanfen was thrilled, and her smile was so wide, one would wonder if her cheeks would tear.

Xin Yan snapped her eyes open at the mention of a stake. She watched Jiang Lanfen’s deranged look, and her eyebrows scrunched up in concern.

She had a lost expression on her face, and this fueled Jiang Lanfen’s hatred causing it to reach its peak.

"Damn you Xin Yan!" She yelled while she took a large chunk of her (Jiang Lanfen) hair into her hands.

"This is what I hate about you, even in the face of your death, you still have that calm and serene look on you, it is infuriating!" Jiang Lanfen walked around while yelling.

Xin Yan was amused, and she chuckled internally. She had never thought her plans could lead Jiang Lanfen to the extreme, it was truly an eye-opener for her.

While she watched Jiang Lanfen have her little breakdown episode, she had a smile on her face throughout. To her, it felt like a show, and she was willing to watch this show.

"And who said I would be dying?" Xin Yan spoke up, her face was bright, having a knowing grin on her lips.

Jiang Lanfen stopped at her words. She turned to look at her, as she had her back against her previously.

"Do you think I cannot kill you? I do not care if I go to jail, as long as you can be finished, I would be happy," she paused as she looked up to the ceiling having just thought of something.

"It will be fun watching your husband grieve over you, and your kids, they will become motherless at their young age, Li Qiang would have no other option than to marry another lady who would give him an heir, and your kids,

They would suffer in their stepmother’s hands, but this should not hurt you, after all, they are adopted kids," Jiang Lanfen taunted.

Xin Yan’s breathing turned wild, her eyes were deadly, as she squinted at Jiang Lanfen who had a smug smile on her face, she had finally been able to get a reaction from Xin Yan.

Though she knew she would not be dying today, Jiang Lanfen’s words got to her and a series of what-ifs appeared in her mind.

What if she suddenly dies? And Li Qiang does, as she had just said, her kids would go through a lot of suffering.

She shook her head frantically, she was panicking. She did not want that to happen, and the only way it could not happen was to protect herself.

"You have said a lot, but I assure you, I will not be dying today, and not in the near future also," Xin Yan enunciated each words slowly.

Jiang Lanfen pursed her lips, finally registering Xin Yan’s words. She might not be that smart, but she knew when someone was trying to pass a message to her, especially since Xin Yan has kept on mentioning it.

"What do you mean?" She asked, her fingers which were wrapped around the stake were trembling with anxiety, while she constantly swallowed.

"Take a guess," Xin Yan replied, with a lethal smirk, her head cocked to the side, with her hands still wrapped around his body.

"You tricked me!" Jiang Lanfen yelled, and suddenly, the building’s door was kicked open, and they were surrounded by the police at once.

Jiang Lanfen dropped the stake in fear after seeing the police officers. Li Qiang walked out from behind, and Jiang Lanfen finally realized that she was done for.

She looked towards Xin Yan who had a relieved smile on her face, she felt disgruntled.

"Are you okay?" Li Qiang immediately rushed towards Xin Yan after seeing her on the floor.

"I am fine," she croaked, but winced immediately when she was about to stand. She suddenly felt bad. Jiang Lanfen’s words had gotten to her, and she could not explain how relieved she was to see him.

Li Qiang’s brows creased, hie lips thinned as he turned to scowl at Jiang Lanfen who shuddered.

His gaze was intense, and deadly. She had no doubt that if she was left alone with him, she would be devoured by him.

"Arrest her!" Li Qiang ordered with a deep voice, as he helped Xin Yan up.

"No! Don’t touch me, she tricked me, she is the real villain, she is the one you need to arrest," Jiang Lanfen panicked as she moved backwards when one of the police officers approached her.

"Seize her!" The head of the officers yelled on seeing that she was about escaping.

"Stop, do not come close to me," she had picked up the stake which she had dropped previously as she used it as a weapon.

She swung the stake, threatening to stab anyone who came close to her.

Xin Yan watched all these with a frown. She just wanted to be done with Jiang Lanfen once and for all.

Li Qiang, who was holding her in place, had no idea as to when she wriggled out of his hold and approached her.

"Xin Yan!" He called out, but she would not listen. The matter was between her and Jiang Lanfen, and if she needed to end it, then she would do so.
