Chapter 149: Chapter 149 I Teach Physical Education (Second Update)
Mo Siyu spoke unhurriedly: "I’m a sports teacher. I usually train with my students, which makes me quite fit. This leg was just an unlucky fall."
"Oh, I see." A glint flashed in the man’s eyes as he looked at Mo Siyu’s profile, taking in his tall stature. His voice dropped a few notches, "So you’re a sports teacher."
"Yeah, I’m tall and don’t really excel at anything else. Being a sports teacher isn’t too bad." Mo Siyu replied coolly, standing up and then putting most of his weight on the man, wincing as he took a sharp breath of pain.
"Hey, don’t let go." Mo Siyu shouted as a large hand covered his mouth.
A fierce glint flashed through Mo Siyu’s eyes, as the weakness he had shown earlier instantly dissipated.
The man planned on knocking him out, changing into his hospital clothes, making him look more battered, and then driving him out of Jiang City. Once out of Jiang City, he would be free to do as he pleased, like a fish in the sea or a bird in the sky.
Mo Siyu stooped down swiftly, grabbed the man’s arm, and with a slick set of grappling moves, attacked the man’s vulnerable abdomen, subduing him almost in the blink of an eye.
The man seemed not to expect Mo Siyu to fight back, and moreover, his previously weak appearance now seemed fierce to him.
The man realized something was wrong, but it was too late to back out.
Killing him, he could continue to hide here and seek another opportunity.
The man’s eyes glinted with murderous intent. Even though he was subdued, he quickly drew a dagger from behind his waist and stabbed it towards Mo Siyu.
He had learned some martial arts, and ordinary men were no match for him, especially with his reckless fighting style that made others wary.
The dagger’s cold light grazed Mo Siyu’s face, yet his expression remained unchanged. Even with just one working leg, he was more agile than the man. By grabbing the man’s wrist hard, he used the man’s force to step back, turned his body to the side, and with his hands’ strength alone, made the man lose his aim.
As the dagger sliced in front of him, Mo Siyu took the opportunity to strike the man’s arm with his palm.
The man’s arm went numb.
Mo Siyu quickly seized his hand, stabbing it into the man’s belly, blood oozing out. Without giving the man any chance to counterattack, Mo Siyu pulled out a rope previously prepared from his waist and tied the man’s hands behind his back, severely restricting his movements.
"Who are you?" The man looked at Mo Siyu incredulously, having been on guard for everything, he had never expected Mo Siyu to be a practitioner, especially seeing how frail he looked with his injured leg.
The man was desperate. He couldn’t be captured. If he was, the Jade Buddha he’d stolen with great effort would be useless. His leg kicked frantically towards Mo Siyu’s.
Mo Siyu efficiently popped open the trunk, pushed the man in with one hand and a kick.
With a loud ’bang,’ the trunk shut, and the car thumped noisily.
"I’m telling you, you won’t find the Jade Buddha even if you capture me. Qin Huai’an really chose someone with a useless leg. Seems he’s really pushed to a desperate corner," the man yelled angrily, recalling how he had noticed Mo Siyu’s genuine leg injury, which had not been fully exerted upon.
This made the man feel even more aggrieved. What kind of person was this? With an injured leg and yet still captured him.
The man grew more upset as he thought about it, ranting to feel better.
"Me? Even if I didn’t move, you wouldn’t be a match for me," Mo Siyu said with a haughty and arrogant tone, oozing confidence.
Over the years, Mo Siyu’s martial arts skills had been continuously improving. Even with an injured leg and without any weapons, the man stood no chance against him.
"Bullshit!"
"Let me go, and we’ll have a fair fight. You’re definitely no match for me."
"Hey, you’re not getting cold feet, are you?"
"Ouch, my stomach has bled a lot, I shouldn’t be dying, right?"
The man’s voice came intermittently from the trunk.
Mo Siyu sat in the car, resting with his eyes closed, treating the sounds of kicking from the trunk as a lullaby.
Time ticked away slowly and the village’s circus performed some minor acts, eliciting hearty laughter from the villagers. None knew what was happening at the village entrance.
The man, exhausted from shouting, lay in the trunk, having lost a lot of blood, feeling utterly drained, and said, "I’m dying, please take me to the hospital."
In the darkness, within the confined space, the man, unaware of the severity of his injuries, clutched his belly wound, feeling the blood incessantly streaming out.
"Hey, I’m dying." The man shouted at the top of his lungs, yet Mo Siyu didn’t respond at all.
When the circus ended and people passed by this way, the man shouted even louder, hoping to be discovered by the villagers.
"Huh, what is this..."
A nosy man came over to check the situation, and Mo Siyu simply stated, "He stole the Jade Buddha, worth over a hundred thousand, so I am taking him back to return the Jade Buddha and, moreover, for this Jade Buddha, he has already taken a life."
"A Jade Buddha worth over a hundred thousand?"
"What kind of Jade Buddha is it that it’s so valuable?"
"Even if it’s for money, you can’t just kill someone."
The villagers discussed nosily among themselves.
Mo Siyu seldom spoke, just sitting there waiting for someone.
It wasn’t long before the villagers dispersed.
The man continued to scream and shout until he no longer had the energy to do so. Once the villagers learned that he had risked his life for the Jade Buddha, no one came to his rescue.
In the car, everything suddenly quieted down, leaving only the sounds of frogs ’croaking’ in the fields.
The man had already lost hope; the more he moved, the more blood he lost.
"The moment you killed for the Jade Buddha, you should have expected this day to come," Mo Siyu’s icy voice suddenly broke the silence.
The man, agitated, said, "I didn’t plan to kill, but he kept shouting loudly."
Mo Siyu continued, "Cause and effect cycle, just now, those villagers did not rescue you, just as the person you killed; before their death, they felt just as you do now, hoping for someone to save them."
"I didn’t do it on purpose?" The man argued vehemently.
Mo Siyu remained silent, not bothering to argue whether it was intentional, but indeed, his actions had led to that person’s death, ruined a family, which, he heard, even had children yet to be weaned.
This time Mo Siyu had come to cooperate in capturing him, and as for the rest, he couldn’t concern himself with it.
