Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Mr. Song
Tang Yue’s words had barely left her mouth when Tang Mingli followed her without a second’s consideration.
Deng Yong stood to the side, completely failing to react. He never expected that Tang Mingli would heed the words of a 17-year-old girl on such a significant matter.
Initially, Deng Yong thought Tang Mingli was retreating to advance, but as he watched them leave without the slightest hesitation, he became frantic and hurried after them.
Manager Niu’s words had just been spoken, and Deng Yong’s face turned red with the effort of restraining himself from defending them. Manager Niu’s remarks were utterly disdainful, not only to Tang Mingli and his group but even Deng Yong felt suffocated listening to them.
Even a Buddha fights for a stick of incense, a man fights for a breath of air.
"Hmph." Manager Niu snorted coldly, eying their departing figures with disdain, "Anyone thinks they can run a clothing factory? As if it’s child’s play!"
Manager Niu turned around and immediately started lambasting the people around him, "And you all, how did this month’s fabric shrink again? With so much fabric piled in the warehouse, why aren’t you hurrying to sell it? You think the factory supports you just to loaf around?"
"Tang Mingli, are you sure you won’t buy fabric from Fulaibu Factory?" Deng Yong hastily asked since there was indeed a considerable price difference between the two cloth factories.
Tang Mingli nodded without hesitating, "Of course, do you think Shenzhen only has their factory selling fabric?"
Deng Yong opened his mouth to say something but ended up silent, following Tang Mingli to the Xinglong Cloth Factory.
Xinglong Cloth Factory’s facility wasn’t much different from Fulaibu Factory, but it was more pleasing to the eyes than Fulaibu Factory. This wasn’t to mention the smiling reception staff and the interior of the factory, which looked more comfortable than that of Fulaibu Factory.
Previously, it was Fulaibu Factory’s low prices that attracted them, even if the fabric was slightly inferior. Tang Yue didn’t mind that as long as the combination was good, the clothes could still be made beautifully.
But Manager Niu’s attitude made her feel that working with such people and such a factory, even if they managed to cooperate, who knows what problems could arise later on.
"Want to meet the factory director? Sure, the director is my older brother, Song Weiguo. Fortunately, my brother happens to be coming to the factory soon." Song Shouguo said enthusiastically. Just as he stood up to check if Song Weiguo had arrived, Song Weiguo’s voice came from outside the factory.
"Who wants to see me?" Song Weiguo entered from outside, his head shaved buzz-cut style, wearing a neat Sun Yat-sen suit, looking very amiable.
"Big brother, these are guests brought by Deng Yong from Jiang City, Wangjiang County. This gentleman is Boss Tang Mingli, and that girl is his niece, Tang Yue." Song Shouguo introduced them and explained, "They’re thinking of setting up a clothing factory in Wangjiang County, so they wanted to buy fabric from our factory."
"Boss Tang, hello, I’m Song Weiguo." Song Weiguo kindly approached to shake hands with Tang Mingli.
After the initial pleasantries, they got down to business.
Song Weiguo roughly inquired about how much stock they wanted, how much more they would order later, and after the conversation with Tang Mingli, he got the gist that they were a new factory. However, Song Weiguo did not belittle them in the slightest; instead, he treated them with great respect.
Finally, Song Weiguo took the initiative to lower prices, even matching Fulaibu Factory’s prices, and agreed that if their purchases reached a certain volume, they would receive additional fabric for free.
This extra fabric was essentially another form of discount.
Tang Yue’s eyes lit up. She had been silent the whole time, but the impression the Song brothers gave her was very positive. They weren’t showy but seemed down-to-earth and reliable.
She felt reassured about partnering with such people.
Tang Mingli and Tang Yue exchanged glances, silently confirming she felt it was alright before heading to the workshop to personally inspect the fabrics they produced. The colors were vibrant, and the quality was good; from Tang Yue’s expert perspective, the fabric would indeed make excellent clothing.
When it came time to order, Tang Yue had Song Weiguo bring out sample fabrics for selection. She decided confidently which fabrics to order more of and which less.
Tang Mingli stood by, agreeing to everything Tang Yue suggested.
Only then did Song Weiguo notice the beautiful girl who had been silent the whole time. Initially, he thought that Tang Mingli was just bringing his niece out to gain some experience—as many did.
However, when it came to selecting fabrics, Song Weiguo realized that all decisions were made by the young girl.
"Boss Tang, your niece... is she in the clothing business?" Song Weiguo looked at Tang Yue, who was very pretty but had a youthful face, seemingly around sixteen or seventeen years old.
"Um..." Before Tang Mingli could reply, Tang Yue jokingly said, "Mr. Song, I just think these fabrics look nice."
"Oh~" Song Weiguo responded and then changed the subject, not continuing on that topic.
Song Weiguo took note of the quantity of fabric Tang Yue selected and after tallying the total, he graciously offered some additional fabric. While it wasn’t much, it was still a gesture of goodwill.
Dinner was hosted by Song Weiguo, wishing them a pleasant cooperation in the future.
The factory director of Fula had heard that Song Weiguo sealed such a big deal and was green with envy. Later, word got out that the clients brought by Deng Yong had first visited Fulaibu Factory but had left due to Manager Niu’s unpleasant words.
The face of Fula’s factory director turned even darker than the bottom of a pot.
The next morning, Factory Director Fula specifically asked Deng Yong whether he had brought people over, and upon receiving a positive response, just thinking of the lost big order made the factory director’s blood surge with distress.
This year’s performance was already lackluster, and Factory Director Fula was looking everywhere for buyers. Who would have thought that Manager Niu would push away such a big deal?
With a gloomy face, Factory Director Fula sat in the office. Around 10 o’clock in the morning, Manager Niu, humming a tune, walked in. As soon as he entered and saw Factory Director Fula, he asked, "Brother-in-law, why are you here so early?"
"Early?" Factory Director Fula raised his voice, berating without warning, "It’s already 10 o’clock, why didn’t you come after lunch at noon?"
Manager Niu felt an internal jolt and, trying to ingratiate himself, smiled, "Brother-in-law, who has upset you this early in the morning? Tell me, and I’ll vent for you."
"Who else but you!" Factory Director Fula glared at Manager Niu, wishing he could skin him alive.
"Ah..." Manager Niu was bewildered, racking his brains to think if he had done anything wrong recently.
"Why did you drive away the people Deng Yong brought in?"
"Brother-in-law, that’s unjust, I didn’t drive them away; they left on their own," Manager Niu protested, looking wronged.
