Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!
Chapter 177: Rise of the Mortal Rebellion

Chapter 177: Rise of the Mortal Rebellion

The skies tore apart as the first strike of the divine war descended.

Helios raised his hand, summoning a colossal sun-lance that dwarfed even the tallest mountains. It blazed with pure golden fire, searing the air and vaporizing the clouds above. He hurled it toward Igaris with the fury of the heavens behind it.

But Igaris didn’t even frown.

His pupils glowed, not with fear, but with calculation. The Architect’s Eyes activated, breaking down the structure of the divine lance in an instant. His body shimmered with layered energy shields as he used Kinetic Redirection.

Grip!

He caught the massive spear with his bare hand, the impact rattling the sky.

"...."

Seeing this, the entire battlefield gasped.

Igaris however remained nonchalant.

"Haah!"

With a grunt, Igaris twisted and launched the divine weapon to the side, letting it explode harmlessly in the sky. "Boom!"

A second sun ignited for a brief moment, then died in silence.

"Attack!" bellowed Master Leon from the Summoner Alliance side. "Form your squads! Hold the frontlines!"

The battlefield erupted into chaos.

Summoners unleashed beasts of all shapes and elements. From towering magma gorillas to ethereal water serpents, the earth trembled under the weight of the monsters.

From the Federation side, black-armored mechas charged forwaed with thunderous momentum that shook the very earth.

Whoosh!

Evernight soared above his forces, slashing the air with her Chains of Eternal Curse Her power fractured space itself. Behind her came hundreds of Federation elites, their eyes glowing with unnatural clarity.

Igaris dropped into the center of the battlefield like a comet, sword already drawn.

"Godslayer Sword Style: Fourth Form - Void Severance."

His blade shimmered with crimson voidlight. He swept it once across the ground, and a hundred angels in front of him were instantly sliced, their bodies not realizing they had been cut until they fell apart in delayed agony.

"You mongrel, I will place divine judgement upon you."

Helios growled and descended, solar wings blazing.

He landed opposite Igaris, the sheer heat from his presence turning sand to glass.

"You dare defy the sun itself?"

"I don’t defy the sun," Igaris replied coldly. "I remove the darkness hiding behind its light."

"Rumble!"

They clashed.

Sparks of divinity and mortality collided in brutal harmony.

Helios struck with divine fury, every blow causing the air to rupture. Igaris countered with deadly precision, his [Six Directional Sense] predicting each move, his [Phantom Shift] blurring his position between strikes.

Around them, the war surged.

Nina summoned her blue Wyvern, which tore through enemy lines like a storm of silver blades.

Master Leon invoked his dragon spirit, a spectral wyrm of azure flame, which roared across the sky and wrapped itself around enemy siege beasts.

Evernight collided with the enemy archangel Vathriel, their clashing a fusion of shadow and holiness. The two forces exploded on contact, sending shockwaves that cratered the battlefield.

And above it all, Helios summoned his divine technique.

"Solar Judgment."

A second sun formed in the sky, spiraling downward like a meteor. "BUZZZZZ!"

But Igaris was faster.

"Yin-Yang Reversal."

Black and white energy surged from his chest, forming a twisting vortex that inverted the laws of the realm. The falling sun slowed, then reversed, launching skyward and shattering into fragments before vanishing into the void.

"What!" Helios staggered.

"That technique... it should be forbidden. How do you know the Taboo?"

Igaris didn’t answer.

Instead, his aura flared.

A violent, ancient, raw energy pulsed around him. The battlefield halted for just a second, sensing the change. Even the gods above looked down with unease.

"Now fall."

"World Destroying Finger."

Igaris pressed his finger forward.

And then, the very spatial fabrics of the world cracked.

"ZZZZZZZT!"

A beam of pure annihilation pierced the heavens, striking Helios in the chest. His armor shattered. The sun god was hurled backward through the sky, smashing into a floating citadel, which collapsed into dust under the impact.

Seeeing this, the Federation soldiers roared, "YEAHHH. KILL THE GODS!"

The Summoners stood in stunned silence.

Even the gods watching from the distant divine planes felt something shift.

Igaris did not chase Helios. Instead, he turned to the battlefield, raising his sword high.

"This is not just a war. This is a cleansing."

His voice thundered through the hearts of mortals.

"No more shall faith be used as a leash. No more shall gods rule through fear. Today, the age of divine tyranny ends."

And with that, the battle raged once more.

But now, it was not just mortals fighting for survival.

It was mortals rising to reclaim their destiny.

---

After hours...

The battlefield was drenched in silence.

Helios, one of the Seven Prime Divinities, lay crumbled among the fractured ruins of a fallen citadel. His divine armor was in shards, his golden blood staining the once-sacred earth. The light that had once radiated from his form now flickered like a dying candle. His gaze trembled as it rose toward the figure standing above him.

A mortal.

But not just any mortal.

A mortal whose power had grown to rival the stars.

"I... I am a Prime Divinity... How?" Helios muttered, his voice raw and faint. "How can someone like you... a mortal... defeat me?"

Igaris stood tall, his shadow falling over the fallen god like the blade of judgment. His long black coat fluttered in the breeze, and the glow of soulfire curled around his body. His golden eyes gleamed with purpose, not arrogance. He looked down at Helios, not with pity, but with clarity.

"Because you were bound," Igaris said.

Helios blinked.

"You’re a divine lifeform. In this world, bound by the laws that govern it. The more divine you become, the heavier the shackles of balance drag you down. Your light is regulated. Your fury... leashed."

"And you...?" Helios asked through gritted teeth.

"I’m mortal." Igaris crouched slightly, resting his sword against his shoulder. "But I carry the power of a Saint Rank within me. A Major World burns in my soul. I understand this world’s rules... and how to step around them. That’s why I don’t fear you. That’s why I don’t fear any of the Seven."

Helios felt the last of his strength fade as despair crept in. "You shouldn’t exist..."

"But I do." Igaris stepped closer, the golden flames around him flaring for a moment. "And I will reshape everything you’ve corrupted."

The moment the Sun God’s divine body collapsed into radiant dust, a wave of spiritual pressure swept across the battlefield.

Federation forces howled in triumph.

The Summoner forces faltered.

Angels screamed as the divine connection that tethered them to Helios snapped violently. Their wings withered. Their minds lost all guidance. Panic followed. Desperation consumed them.

Many tried to flee.

But Igaris raised his hand calmly.

His pupils shimmered once more.

"Infinite Acquisition."

A tidal wave of translucent runes poured from his palm, engulfing the battlefield. The light coiled around the angels, locking them in place like strings of fate. They trembled. Some tried to resist. Some begged for release.

But Igaris showed no hesitation.

He devoured the bindings that once tied them to the gods. In that moment, two hundred thousand divine puppets were stripped of their purpose... and rewritten.

Their gazes shifted. Confusion turned to silence. Then silence turned to reverence.

They knelt.

One after another, they dropped to their knees before Igaris, as if the world itself had ordained a new ruler. Their bodies shimmered with modified essence, now woven not with divine will, but with Igaris’ own command.

The Federation troops fell into a stunned hush.

Even the generals struggled to understand what had just happened.

"He... he just enslaved the angels..." one whispered.

"No," corrected Evernight, watching from above. "He liberated them. They were tools of the gods. Now they’re his weapons of revolution."

The battlefield had shifted.

Morale collapsed on one side and surged on the other.

Master Leon and Nina, once proud leaders of the Summoner Alliance, stood motionless amidst their broken formations. Their expressions were hollow.

Nina clutched her staff, trembling. "Is this really Igaris...?"

Leon did not answer. He couldn’t.

He watched his former companion, his student even, now standing atop gods, commanding armies, wielding forbidden power without remorse. He had walked a path that none of them could follow.

A path that turned against the very heavens.

"J-Just who are you?" Helios had asked with what little breath remained.

Igaris answered with no hesitation.

His voice echoed across heaven and earth. Every creature, every soldier, every soul in that region of the world heard it.

"I am the Overlord."

And the sky rumbled.

A new era had begun.
