Chapter 176: Secrets of Divinity

Chapter 176: Secrets of Divinity

Hovering in the skies above the battlefield, Igaris stood calmly, crimson cape fluttering, and the Federation’s banners rippling behind him. A sea of Mechas extended across the plains like a mechanical tide, while overhead, battleships hummed with weapons locked and primed.

The pressure of his aura pressed down on the world like a falling star.

From the opposite side, atop a towering Summoner Beast, Nina stared up with wide, uncertain eyes.

"Ma-Master... that’s really him? Igaris?" she asked, her voice shaking. "But... why is he standing with the Federation? They’ve been slaughtering Summoners for years..."

Master Leon’s jaw tightened.

"I don’t know. We all believed he died during the invasion..." Leon’s gaze stayed locked on the man in the sky. "But now he has reappeared... not just alive, but as the Supreme General of the Federation."

The battlefield trembled slightly as the giant Mechas began marching in unison behind Igaris. Even the clouds parted around him, as if nature dared not veil his presence.

Nina clutched her hand tightly.

"Then... he’s our enemy? A traitor?"

Leon remained silent for a long moment. The winds howled between them. Then, slowly, he shook his head.

"That... I can’t say. The Igaris I once knew had a heart deeper than any of us. A man willing to bleed for peace. But now, the strength he displays, the eyes he carries—those belong to someone who has seen something... beyond mortals."

He glanced toward Nina.

"And someone who may no longer walk the path of man."

Nina bit her lip. "So what should we do?"

Leon closed his eyes briefly, then opened them with firm resolve.

"We prepare for war. But we do not move blindly. Watch him carefully, Nina. There may still be a truth hidden beneath this battle... and if there is, we must uncover it before the final clash begins."

Overhead, Igaris raised his hand toward the Sky, crimson energy forming a seal that split the clouds.

And somewhere above the sky, golden radiance poured down as a massive sun-shaped sigil formed above the battlefield.

With its presence, heatwaves shimmered across the land, drying the rivers, scorching the grass, and forcing Mechas and monsters alike to shield their sensors and eyes.

Then, from within the golden brilliance, a towering figure descended.

Sun God Helios. Wings of solar fire blazed behind his back, and every step he took rippled with divine authority.

Across the field, high above the Federation’s command core, Igaris floated alone, unmoving.

The skies between them boiled in silence.

Finally, Helios spoke, his voice echoing across the world like a sermon.

"So you are that mortal, Igaris Vance. The one claiming to be the Heir of the Architect?"

Igaris floated above the battlefield with calm eyes, unfazed by the divine pressure pressing down upon him. He met Helios’ condescending glare with an expression bordering on boredom.

"And you’re one of the Seven Rats, Helios. Crawling here in a pitiful avatar after centuries of hiding?"

A low growl rumbled from Helios, golden flames briefly surging around his figure.

"Careful, mortal. You are poking into places where even your origin might be erased from existence."

Igaris scoffed, arms crossed, as if hearing a child throw a tantrum.

"Humph. You must be so proud of wearing the title ’god’ like a badge of superiority. But I know the truth. You and your kind were never the true gods of this world. Not of the Spirit Realm. Not of the God Realm. You were born to protect these three realms. That was your sacred purpose. To create harmony. To maintain balance."

His voice rose with each word, resonating like a blade scraping against divine lies.

"But your greed infected you. Your ambition made you monsters. You broke the shackles of duty. You slaughtered innocent humans. You defiled spirits. You corrupted half the land just so you could prolong a senseless war. One that served no one but your hunger for worship and fear."

Helios staggered slightly. Just for a breath.

His mouth opened slightly. An O of shock, disbelief, and anger all tangled together.

How? How did a mortal know truths that had been sealed behind celestial walls for ages?

Was it the Architect? Had he survived? Had he told the boy?

Then, Igaris turned his gaze toward the battlefield. Toward the sea of forces watching in silence. His voice boomed across mountains and sky.

"You, the so-called gods, could have restored the corrupted land for Summoners. You had the power. You could have given the Summoners peace. A home. A future. But you didn’t. You chose war. You chose devastation. You chose to feed on their hopes, on their fears. But that ends today."

He pointed directly at Helios, the heavens roaring behind his declaration.

"From this moment forward, we take back the duty you abandoned. We reclaim the purpose you desecrated. We, mortals, shall become the true protectors of the Three Realms. And that begins by slaying you, Helios, and burying your twisted ambitions with you."

Suddenly, a shadow surged from the east side of the sky. Black mist unfurled like a winged serpent. A chilling voice followed, deep and sharp as a warhorn from the abyss.

"Did you all hear that, Summoners?" Evernight’s voice pierced the clouds. "The gods you pray to are not your allies. Not to anyone. They are parasites, feeding on your faith. Playing with your emotions. Using your lives to climb higher in their false thrones."

She floated forward, darkness dancing across his armor like flickers of ancient curses.

"So I say this. Make your choice now. If you still wish to stay by that shining tyrant’s side after knowing the truth, then not even fate will save you, humans."

A long silence followed.

Thousands of Summoners stood frozen, caught between everything they had believed and the words that had shattered it all.

Even some Angels began to falter, their radiant forms dimming.

Helios’s fury reached its peak. His radiant avatar swelled with blinding light, flames coiling around his arms.

"You dare challenge divine order, Igaris Vance?"

Igaris summoned his blade.

"No. I dare to correct it."

And with that, the sky split apart.

"RUMBLE!"
