Chapter 175: Gods Vs Men

Chapter 175: Gods Vs Men

"Welcome, Supreme General!"

"Glad to have you here!"

"Please, you’re our only hope now. Please end this war. Kill the Summoners!"

Their voices rang out from every direction, desperate and pleading.

Igaris walked silently between towering formations of the Federation’s Mech Troops. Rows upon rows of combat mechas, their metal bodies gleaming under the morning sun, stood like statues of judgment. Their visors pulsed blue, waiting for commands.

Each step he took echoed against the reinforced ground. The soldiers didn’t move, only watched in reverent silence as the man who had seized the Federation’s reins passed among them like a storm walking on legs.

He wasn’t here to be praised.

He wasn’t here to bask in their faith.

He was here to act.

The war in Ashvale had dragged on far too long, staining the earth with blood and despair. Cities fell. Villages vanished. Magic tore the skies open while Divine Creatures walked like gods among mortals.

But Igaris had not come to exterminate Summoners, nor to chase myths with blind rage.

He had a different plan.

A final plan.

He would slay the Divine Creatures themselves. The beings who descended from the sky, claiming righteousness, who manipulated both Summoners and mortals to wage war on their behalf.

"Peace will not be born from more death," Igaris murmured, barely audible.

"But it must pass through fire before it can rise."

He looked up. The wind shifted. In the far distance, light shimmered unnaturally above the snowy mountains.

The war halls of the Federation’s Central Command thrummed with activity. Tactical displays flickered. Mech pilots rushed to and fro, relaying new orders. But when Igaris entered the chamber, silence fell like a curtain.

Over 400,000 Mechas. Each one now answered to him.

On the elevated command platform, dozens of generals and high-ranking officers stood at attention. None dared to speak first. All eyes were fixed on the man who had overturned the entire council in a single day.

Igaris stepped forward, his gaze sweeping across them.

"I did not come here to rule over men," he began, voice calm yet resonant, "but to break the chains that bind this world."

The officers looked at one another, uncertain.

"In the ancient past, from the day we were born, we had been taught to fear gods. To worship them. To obey them," he continued. "But The Architect opened their eyes. These ’gods’ who used to only empower Summoners to wage war, are not saviors. They are puppeteers."

He raised his hand. A projection appeared, showing countless war zones—Summoner beasts battling soldiers, cities burning, families torn apart.

"To them, this world is a chessboard. We are pawns. Mortals, Mechas, Summoners... All just entertainment to beings who sit on thrones above the clouds."

Gasps and murmurs rippled through the hall.

"But that ends now."

At that moment, a towering figure clad in obsidian armor stepped forward.

Supreme Commander Mikael, the Federation’s most powerful warlock, lowered his head respectfully.

"I stand with you, Heir of the Architect," Mikael said firmly. "We will no longer play in the hands of those so called deities. We will write our fate by ourselves. And those who oppose your vision will answer to my blade."

Mikael unsheathed his great energy sword and struck it into the ground.

Igaris nodded once.

"From now on, let this be our creed. Our only enemies are the Angels and the Gods. The rest... will be spared, if they lay down their arms."

"Yes, General!"

The officers saluted in unison, shouting together,

"For Ashvale! For Humanity! For the Heir!"

The Federation’s legions roared to life.

Mechas rolled out from underground bays, armor shining beneath the artificial sun. Skycrafts ignited their cores. Railgun batteries charged, preparing for an assault the world had never seen.

With resolve burning in their eyes, soldiers engraved the new motto into their hearts.

Angels and Gods are the enemy.

They would march into the heavens if needed.

And Igaris would lead the charge.

---

In the radiant chambers of the newly crafted Divine Citadel, deep within the skies above Ashvale, the Freedom Force Alliance had gathered.

Rows of Summoners lined the ivory hall, dressed in ceremonial robes embroidered with beast marks and divine emblems. Their contracted beasts hovered behind them in astral form, whispering power through unseen bonds.

And at the head of it all, seated upon a golden throne that pulsed with holy fire, sat the one who now led them.

The Sun God Helios.

His skin shimmered like liquid gold, and his eyes burned with twin suns. Just sitting before him made the weaker Summoners tremble, their knees shaking under the pressure of his divine aura.

Hundreds of thousands of Angels floated in formation behind him, their wings forming a living shield of light. Swords of judgment and spears of flame gleamed in their hands, ready for war.

"I have heard your call," Helios spoke, his voice deep and thunderous, echoing through the divine chamber. "And I have descended to guide you toward victory."

The Summoners broke into cheers. Beasts roared in chorus. Yet some among them remained quiet, their eyes wary.

Helios raised his hand, and the noise ceased instantly.

"Mortals defy the heavens. A man dares to call himself the Heir and rise against the divine order. I have seen the one you call Igaris. He is dangerous, and he must be extinguished before his heresy spreads."

A Summoner captain stepped forward, bowing low.

"But Lord Helios, his strength... it broke the Federation Council in a single day. Even the antimagic domain could not contain him."

Helios narrowed his burning eyes.

"Because he walks with a taboo. He wields the reversal of balance, meddling with the flow of creation. That is why he must be erased."

He rose from the throne, fire wreathing his form.

"Igaris Vance believes himself a savior. But he is a demon. I am the one who gave mortals their spark. I know how to take it away."

The Angels slammed their weapons into the floor.

BOOM!

A divine tremor rocked the citadel. Light surged through the walls, and celestial symbols ignited in the air.

Helios lifted his hand skyward.

"Gather the winged legions. Prepare the Summoners. We will descend upon Ashvale with holy wrath and burn the heretic’s rebellion to ash."

A single phrase rippled through the Alliance ranks.

Obey the divine. Burn the traitors.

The war for Ashvale was no longer between nations.

It was between gods and men.

---

On a far corner, Master Leon and Nina stood frozen upon hearing the name Igaris Vance. Because it was the name of young man of their companion who once accused of abandoning the battlefield. There wasn’t a word about him ever since.

But suddenly his name was heard again.

"Could it be the the same person?"
