Re-Awakening with the Summoner's Class
Chapter 57: Start of the end

Chapter 57: Start of the end

He kept waiting for the rest of the party to arrive, scratching his head and thinking what could have gone wrong.

’Myabe its the attribute level? No there is no way! It’s just a Kobold.’

<I think it is somehow related to the corrupt liquid>

That theory sounded most solid, especially with what they had seen in this gate so far.

But where would that liquid even be stored?

[Mind Library]

This time Leo used this skill to search for the blood flow. So far all the monsters corrupted by the liquid had it stored close to their hearts, so why would it be different now?

While trying to pinpoint the exact location, Nyssa, Amelia, and The Fearmonger approached him.

"So what is the plan?"

The brawler asked while sighing, clearly unhappy that they were improvising so much.

"I’m thinking of finding it’s heart."

As he was explaining his plan, Trevor, Heins, and Ruby came back as well.

During his explanation, he was able to see which way the blood went and began walking towards it.

"Careful."

He almost ended up in the stomach juices of the fake Hydra, only surviving because the Hellwings caught him just in time.

All of his focus had to be put into investigating the blood flow so as to not lose it.

A human has 34 main veins, and a monster as big as this had them in the thousands, making it extremely difficult to track the one he wanted.

Using more of the Hellwings, they traversed the stomach juices, reaching a compartment outside the stomach through a small hole in the stomach.

Surprisingly, there was a path all the way from the stomach to the heart, although it felt like a maze rather than a straight path.

It didn’t take long at all for them to reach the heart, and to no one’s surprise, it was filled up with Corrupt Shards.

Whoever put them there, prepared themselves though, as two dormant Jackals stood in front of it.

The area in which they stood was very cramped, preventing Leo from using one of his giant serpents.

"I will try to sneak, if it doesn’t work me and The Fearmonger will keep them in check while you get rid of the shards."

All of them nodded and split into two parties. Leo went out first, slowly walking under the two robots.

With each step he could feel the nervousness go up rapidly, causing his heartbeat to rise.

<Leo you need to relax>

Because of the two heartbeats going out of sync, the pain began to spike, however, it was still manageable.

He held his head and kept on walking, trying not to make any sound at all.

’I need to think of something pleasant...’

But what good memory did he have, as far as he could think, the only one was the one when Nyssa was worried for him.

He recalled it, but it didn’t help enough as the pain continued to burn in his chest and head.

So he had to imagine something even more soothing...

’Cien. Can you do something about reading my mind for a second?’

That was a rather strange request, especially right now.

<I can... but why?>

The summoner didn’t want to answer, a very serious look on his face showed that he wouldn’t even try to think of it unless the ooze agreed.

<Fine, I won’t look>

Once Leo could feel the influence of the sentient system detach from his mind, he recalled an event.

"...I love you, Leo..."

His heart stabilized in an instant as he recalled the voice of a woman no one at this time ever heard of.

And never will if he succeeds in his mission.

One by one, the Corrupt Shards were being taken out from the heart as the summoner walked without any problem.

When the last shard was taken out, a loud rumbling awoke the two Jackals. The walls around them began to slowly shrink as everyone realized what that meant.

"Everyone run out!"

The two Jackals jumped onto him as soon as they sensed him, however, a few Hellwings grabbed onto him and flew towards the rest of the party.

"Did it work?!"

Nyssa asked, also being attached to the flaming birds as The Fearmonger moved all of them as fast as possible.

Both of the Jackals tried to chase after them, but Leo thought of a way to stop them.

He created a serpent barely small enough to fit in the narrow tunnel inside the fake Hydra.

As it kept shrinking, the hallway tightened around the sea monster, creating a tight seal that prevented the robots from chasing them.

Even at max speed, the Hydra’s body was shrinking way too fast for them to come out unscathed.

[Gloppy, can you rush towards the neck of the middle head?!]

[Obviously.]

[Relationship increased with Warlord: Gloppy]

Leo took out his Spirit Sword and as soon as they reached the base of the main neck, he pushed the two Hellwings away and jumped forward as fast as possible, building up his speed.

In the middle of the air, he switched the Spirit Sword Stance to the Juggernaut and smashed the single point at the base of its neck with all his strength.

The loud rumbling it created shook the entirety of that head and showed Gloppy the point where they stood.

He took out his cutlass and jumped forward.

[Bounty Rush]

Both of them began to slash at the now vulnerable spot in the neck.

Time was running out as the neck shrunk rapidly, Nyssa and Heins also jumped off, doing their best to make out a tiny hole.

The neck was now so narrow that they could barely fit in it, and just as they were about to start getting squeezed, a tiny hole appeared.

All of them fell out through it onto the deck of the Slimy Pearl.

"Thank god! That was so close!!!"

Nyssa shouted as they heard the metal of the two Jackals compressing inside.

"We have a problem doctor! Someone had neutralized the ’Hydra’ we prepared."

A sound of a coffee cup getting crushed was heard as the man in front of the monitor stood up.

"What do you mean neutralized?"

This time he didn’t look at Singularity while saying that, not wanting to punish the ones who aren’t at fault.

"They took out the Corrupt Shards holding the Seals... and the transmog magic..."

Nebula walked towards his underling, pushing his head to look straight into his eyes.

"No need to be afraid young Singularity, your brother and sister will clean this mess up."

***

[Kobold lvl 1]

[HP 99 438/50]

Nothing but a tiny monster was left behind, growling at them in anger. Its maximum HP went down, but his current one stayed the same, minus the damage they just dealt to it.

All of them sighed with relief as they saw that the biggest monster inside the gate was reduced to such a state.

"We did it!"

Trevor shouted, making all of them cheer, after oh so long they were able to finally go back home.

bzzzt.... POW!

A laser came from the direction of the portal outside, piercing the Lizardman Prince and dropping his lifeless body to the ground.

"Heins!!!"
