Chapter 56: Stomach

Was the skill breaking? Why did it show him the description of something else?

’Is it...’

[Mind Library]

Kobold - Weak monster that loves to hide inside caves, usually lives in packs, and isn’t a problem for even regular humans to defeat.

Just like he thought the first time, it was a description of a Kobold. But why a Kobold? It was for sure a Hydra.

’Maybe another skill will work.’

[Drop Table]

[Kobold]

[100% Kobold Skin]

[5% Iluminite Ore]

[0,1% Pygmy Necklace]

Still the same outcome.

"Hey, Leo..."

Nyssa grabbed his attention as they kept sailing, the Hydra kept creeping closer with each moment.

"How come it doesn’t have a boss tag?"

What did she mean it didn’t have a boss tag?

[Hydra lvl 100]

[HP 100 000/100 000]

It was far more than any monster they had fought so far, but from a monster that could reach the sky, they expected much more.

"Doeshn’t matther! We need tho ghet outshide!!"

Amelia kept buffing Trevor and The Fearmonger who were trying to at least slow down the beast.

Their attempts were unsuccessful, however, it at least made the dread of the upcoming doom disappear.

There was only one other skill he could use to figure out how to defeat the Hydra. He closed his eyes and focused.

[Mind Library]

The purple and blue aura formed around him again, and pages of notepads and books fell out of his body left and right.

He could see the outlines forming, everything becoming clear.

With the skillfully active, he opened his eyes, and the books in his eyes turned rapidly, stopping on the Hydra’s attack pattern.

It predicted an attack from its right, that would knock the Slimy Pearl over.

Leo braced himself for the impact, however, nothing like that happened.

Then an attack from the top right into their deck, but once again, nothing like that happened.

’What if...’

Both of the books turned back to one of the first pages.

Now the predictions matched the movements, the monster ran forward the same way the Mind Library expected it to.

All of the weird things happening began to merge.

"You know why it’s not getting smaller, or doesn’t have a boss tag?"

There was no sense of urgency in his voice as he spoke to Nyssa, turning his skill off.

"Is it the time to talk about it now?!"

"It’s a Kobold."

His entire party looked at him confused. The only sounds were the monster behind them and the slime squishing against itself.

Everyone waited for an explanation from him or at least directions on what to do next.

"Gloppy, you continue sailing, we are going up."

"Wait why!"

Instant objection came from everyone, however, if he was right, that would be the only way to defeat it with their numbers.

Since it’s not a real Hydra, Leo assumed that it wouldn’t have the ability to multiply its heads.

So the plan was simple, they just had to cut off all three of their heads, while not dying.

"We can’t use my Hellwings, they won’t be fast enough to keep up with this speed."

The Fearmonger said, thinking that this was part of the summoner’s plan on how they would get up.

"Oh don’t worry that wasn’t my plan at all."

***

"How is this any betther!!"

Amelia shouted as the slimes put her inside one of the cannons. She was the last one to be loaded in.

They even found a mortar to fit Trevor in.

"Well... that’s the fastest way of getting up."

Leo said as the fuses of their cannons began to get shorter.

"Now Gloppy!"

With a sharp turn, the cannons were now aiming right towards the heads of the fake Hydra.

All of them ignited at once, shooting the entire party but Gloppy right into the enormous monster.

"AAAAAAAH!!!!"

Everyone but Leo and The Fearmonger screamed in shock. One of the heads heard their cries and stared right at them.

GRRRR

Even its growls were the exact same as Kobold’s!

But a level 100 monster was still level 100 at the end of the day, meaning they wouldn’t be able to defeat it head-on.

"What’s the plan now genius!!"

Nyssa shouted at the summoner, still in disbelief that she let him go ahead with this plan.

"We just need to let it eat us, and look at that!"

Before anyone could react to this, all of them were swallowed in one bite. The sheer size of the fake Hydra was frightening.

When they met it for the first time, it was just a few meters in width, now its mouth alone was over 10 meters across.

Its throat felt like a giant slip n slide, a very nasty one at that as they slid down through its saliva.

"This is so much fun! HAHAHA! I’m so glad I didn’t leave after all."

Only two people were enjoying their time right now, Leo and Trevor.

"Why did I even come here!? This sssuckss!!!"

Crash!

It took forever until they reached the monster’s stomach, stopping on a pile of monsters that clogged and floated on the stomach juices.

"It’s so dark here, I can barely see anything!"

The brawler complained as she tried to stand up, touching everything around to make out the terrain.

Amelia chanted a spell to make her staff light up, at least brightening the place up a little bit.

At the same time, The Fearmonger summoned a few Hellwings to emit light with their fire.

What they saw, made a few of them almost puked, in front of them laid the remains of the previous expedition.

Countless corpses created small islands in the stomach of the monster. In fact, the one they stood on right now was made out of the fallen Climbers.

Everyone jumped off of the floating island back to the flesh of the monster’s throat.

To Leo, the sight of so many corpses wasn’t that shocking because of his background, however to others, it was way too much.

"I will take this head, you can split between the other two."

Without waiting for their answer, Leo went towards the biggest of the three heads.

He knew that Gloppy couldn’t hold out forever inside the Slimy Pearl, after all, it was only one wrong turn from being trampled over by the humongous body.

Luckily, once the fake Hydra’s head went back to its original position, the straight path that they took down, turned into a nasty coiled staircase.

’This will be so much easier than I expected, I’m so glad...’

[Mind Library]

Just to see better, he used the skills and ability to create outlines. Deep down, he could feel the entire expedition slowly coming to an end.

A weakpoint could be seen ahead, he rushed towards it and tried to sink his sword into it.

However it bounced right off, it didn’t even feel like he was hitting flesh but a sheet of iron.

[I might have a problem here.]

[Me and the old man have one too.]

[The rest of us also have some problems...]

’It can never be easy.’

Leo sighed and began his walk back to the point where the three heads met together, so they could group up and think of a solution.
