Re-Awakening with the Summoner's Class -
Chapter 55: Hydra
Chapter 55: Hydra
"Focus Leo, you need to calm down"
The voice of a man he never heard before spoke to him, but how could he do what the man said if he couldn’t do what he wanted?
The strange feeling in his head rang soundly and he could feel weird tightness in his chest.
He put the palm of his hand on it and could feel his heartbeat, however, it felt way slower than it was supposed to.
Ba-dum...Ba-dum...
’Am I, dying?’
Besides the beat of his heart, he could feel something else, something unnatural, like a different pulse.
...Ba-dum....Ba-dum
But it felt more electric and irregular.
"You have to time your own heart to it"
Again, the unknown man was telling him what to do. Whether because of the exploding pain in his head or because he was desperate, he decided to trust that person.
With all the strength he could muster, he tried to relax and ignore all of the pain.
Very slowly, the two different pulses began to merge into one, each time they got closer to the same wavelength, the pain got weaker.
Ba-dum...Ba-dum...
Ba-dum...Ba-dum...
Both of the pulses stabilized and he could feel his motor functions coming back.
"Thank you."
Leo said to the source of the voice he could hear just moments ago, however when he opened his eyes there was no one around.
’Was there anyone here?’
He inquired Cien while pulling his forearm closer to his face, looking at the black ooze.
After a moment of silence, he got an answer.
<No one, just me and you>
The summoner put the palm of his hand on the temple of his chest, feeling the synchronized beats pumping blood into his body.
As soon as he tried to stand up, the beating became irregular again, sending another wave of pain into his head.
However, now he knew that he just needed to relax to let it go back to normal.
Each step he took was easier than the last.
Just like blinking or breathing, the brain began to subconsciously repeat the process of stabilizing the heartbeats in such a way that there was no pain.
Leo walked towards the rest of his party to see what was going on.
"Oh, you are finally up? That’s just in time."
He looked above them, seeing the last of the centaur herd finishing to cross the hole.
"Heins told us the locations of the other two monster camps."
This information grabbed all of their attention in an instant, if things were to go as well as they did so far, they would need to just destroy the Sealls inside them to stop the Hydra from getting stronger.
"I won’t asssisst you... however, I can ssshow you the way towardsss them."
The Prince took them outside, walking slowly through the tunnels which were barely holding together.
"Why won’t whe thake the path we mhade befhore?"
Amelia questioned as to why they would take the longer way, and more dangerous.
"Exactly! That’s where the enemies are, let’s go fight!"
Ruby flexed her nonexistent muscles and explained their choice.
After all of the fighting they did, going against a herd of centaurs was the last thing on their mind.
After getting outside, Gloppy took a few steps in front of them.
[Pirate Fleet: Slimy Pearl]
They all boarded the green flagship and began to sail towards the direction Heins pointed.
By now, most of the monsters have been killed meaning they weren’t stopped by anything at all.
Which let them traverse the gate without a problem at all.
All of them felt on edge as the direction in which they sailed was the same one in which the Hydra was sealed.
They reached centaurs stables after only a few minutes. Gloppy used Bounty Rush the entire time to speed up the process, knowing that they didn’t have much time before the entire party became too exhausted.
[Master Leo... some people just entered the gate...]
Sapphire messaged him all of a sudden, he found it rather surprising.
Not the fact that someone had entered against the advice, but that it took that long.
[Don’t worry, we are almost done inside, you can go wait in the van.]
[But we want to help!]
Her childish answer got a chuckle out of the summoner.
[You already did enough, just wait for us to come back.]
Far ahead in the distance, they could see the stables, or what was left of them.
In the place of a village brimming with life, now stood a pit of rubble, like something stepped on it.
But what would be big enough to do it? The entirety of the village was around 100 meters in length.
And in the middle of all of this? Remains of the Seal.
"Wha-what’sss going on?! It wass here just yesssterday!"
The entirety of the ground shook below them all of a sudden, then did it again.
In front, the body of a humongous beast going towards them.
It was so large that they couldn’t even see its heads.
"It’s the Hydra! Run!!!"
Leo shouted, his Warlord was already on it as he was changing the direction in which they were going.
They were far too late, it had already gained enough power to break free from the Seals itself.
"Why can it even get so big!? Shouldn’t it also get smaller like the Ifrit did?"
Terrified Nyssa shouted, even at full speed they were barely faster than the monster.
Last one of the Seals snapped like a twig as the monster went after them.
"I have no clue!"
She was right, why was it so big? Why didn’t the system change its difficulty?
’Do you know why it’s happening? Or how to defeat it?’
The pain started to come back as he wasn’t able to focus on keeping his hearts in check.
<I have no idea either!>

"There were no more hiccups regarding the Hydra, Doctor."
Singularity kneeled in front of the man in front of him. The same run-down lab now shook violently.
Nebula laughed soundly before speaking.
"Hahaha! I can tell! It feels like the ground is about to split open."
His eyes didn’t leave the monitor in front of him for even a second. A pile of empty coffee cups filled the ground around him.
"Where did Pulsar go Doctor? We might need his strength if the experiment fails."
In an instant, Singularity could feel an electric shock go through his entire body as Nebula looked straight at him.
Even though there was no expression on his face, the anger of those words almost shook the room as much as the Hydra did.
"I’m sorry for such disrespect! There is no way you would ever fail..."
The electric shock disappeared as soon as the man turned back to his monitor and began typing wildly.
Across of them, behind the heavy glass, the last vat stood. However this time there was something more inside it.
Something was swimming inside, circling whatever was inside.

An idea crossed Leo’s mind.
’I can use Mind Library to learn of its weakness!’
[Mind Library]
Weak monster that loves to hide inside caves, usually lives in packs, and isn’t a problem for even regular humans to defeat.
