Re-Awakening with the Summoner's Class -
Chapter 47: The Storm
Chapter 47: The Storm
One of the legs shattered as another combination attack struck it. There was no way for the monster to stand up now.
"Nice! Now the other one."
Leo shouted as The Fearmonger moved them away from the monster’s swipe with her Hellwings.
Amelia put both of her hands on her shoulders and shivered as they flew towards the other leg.
"Is it mhe or itsh way coldher right now"
Now that she had mentioned it and the rest of the party paid attention, they could tell that it got a lot more chilly ever since the fight started.
They didn’t notice until now due to being too focused on the task in front of them.
Snow began to fall as the weather got even worse around them. A rumbling sound came out of the creature’s core while the snowfall got denser.
All of a sudden, the Ice Giant stood up. Its shattered limbs were as good as new as the snow connected to them.
The light blue color going through the ice turned to strong purple. On its right arm, the palm of its hand deformed into an enormous spike, way too big even for the monster.
It toppled over as the deformations continued in proportion to the amount of corrupt liquid going through its body.
Gloppy could see the source of all this corrupted energy coming from the seal as it sucked on the essence of the monster, slowly but surely turning it into nothing more than corruption as a self-defense mechanism.
"Leo! It’s in the heart!"

[Rewards: [Soul Summon] Skill, 25 Summoner Slots]
He shouted to the summoner with his hand extended towards the shining spot. As to not lose any time, The Fearmonger grabbed both of them and began to fly towards there.
With each meter that they passed towards it, the blizzard froze them a bit more.
"tsk My wings can’t take it for much longer."
She told the two men she was holding, that even with the support of Hellwings fire, the cold was way too much for them to fly all the way there.
"It’s okay, just throw us!"
It took a lot out of her, but she somehow threw both of them before the wings froze fully, leading to her fall.
Both of them grabbed onto the chest of the giant monster with their blades, using them as support for climbing.
They watched filled with anxiety as their friend kept falling, her wings unable to open due to the harsh weather.
But right as she was about to hit the ground, Trevor jumped toward the demon and caught her.
"We will take care of everything down here! Just focus on that son of a bitch!"
He shouted as the entire party ran to prevent the creature from standing up.
With the use of Amelia’s Magic Nullification, they were able to stop the cold from affecting them, however Leo and Gloppy didn’t have such luxury.
"What will we do now?"
His summon asked while their hands began to freeze.
The top priority right now was to stop the freezing cold, which there was a simple solution how to do.
Leo tried to summon an enormous sea serpent, putting over 100 Summoner Slots into it.
[Insufficient Summoner Slots]
[Summoner Slots 80/240 ⚚]
To his disbelief they were somehow out of them, it came as a surprise as The Fearmonger only had around 50 used right now.
[Warlords]
[Gloppy the Slime Overlord - 0/240 ⚚ - 3/3 ⚚⚚]
[Generals]
[Ruby - 40/240 ⚚]
[Emerald - 30/240 ⚚]
[Sapphire - 34/240 ⚚]
[The Fearmonger - 56/240 ⚚]
Something was wrong on the outside, if it wasn’t the case they wouldn’t take those slots away from them.
He had to use a smaller one which was risky as he wasn’t sure if it would be enough to penetrate the thick layer of ice.
As he summoned the smaller one, the monster realized what was happening and tried to stop it.
The Beam came too quick though and drilled a hole through its chest, but it was too shallow!
’Again!’
They didn’t have time as the Ice Giant struck the serpent away from itself and paid close attention to them.
If they tried to do the same thing again, it would end the same way, so Leo had to think of something, and think fast.
Crack
A very faint sound of the ice cracking came out as the Seal began to drain energy even faster.
More of them formed on the area where the serpent shot until it fully cracked, revealing a hollow surface inside.
Both of them jumped just as the monster was about to push them away from its chest.
"How do we stop it now?"
Gloppy asked as they walked towards the Seal. Without Amelia, they couldn’t destroy it right now, but Leo wouldn’t come without a plan.
"We need to cut off the links between them."
He pointed to the Seal which was fused into the icy core of the beast.
"So the plan is... to kill the monster?"
The Warlord was taken aback by the straightforward plan, however, if that was the easiest way, then why would he complain about it being simple?
With his cutlass out, he jumped towards the core, he swung it across but not a scratch was left behind.
"Shit, it’s tough!"
Leo was next, he took out his Spirit Sword, and instead of slashing the core, he thrust into it with all his might, leaving behind a tiny scratch.
"This will take forever without support."
They tried to summon anything to support them.
[Insufficient Summoner Slots]
[Summoner Slots 0/240 ⚚]
[Everything alright outside? Ruby?]
No answer.
Neither of them got an answer from any of the three gems.
Now there was no other way but to power through. One after another they kept striking the core in the single spot with a crack.
[Can the two of you speed up!? We are barely keeping it prone down here.]
The Fearmonger scolded them, by now Amelia was slowly running out of Mana Potions to support her Magic Nullification.
Entirety of their strategy just kept dissolving into improvisation as more things began to go wrong.
<Leo>
"Leo."
[Leo.]
His mind couldn’t take it anymore.
"Why is everything going wrong? Screw this!"
He murmured to himself before erupting in anger.
Even with all of the information he was blessed with, he had no grasp on the situation due to so many things out of his scope.
The Water Spirit Staff was taken out from his inventory and thrown aside.
"What’s the use of it if I can’t even summon anything!"
Gloppy could feel the pain his Master felt. No matter how much he planned, something was always happening that they couldn’t predict.
Ooze dripped from the slime as he walked slowly towards the staff and picked it up, cleaning it off the dirt it had collected across all of their adventures.
Then, he held it out to Leo who was on his knees lamenting over their inability to do anything.
"Get up Leo."
His simple words fueled something inside him, the expression of worry and affection pushed him beyond.
Leo grabbed the staff and put it back in his inventory while stretching his joints.
"Yes, let’s do it."
If they wanted to break it, both of them would need to give 100...
Scratch that, 110% of their power.
[Bountry Rush]
[Spirit Sword Stance: Juggernaut]
