Chapter 46: Ice Giant

There were no Ice Golems on their way since the party led by Gloppy eradicated every single one on their way the first time.

They didn’t need to care about the frozen ground as by now it became nothing more than a slush which was nothing more than an annoyance.

"What exactly can we expect to find in the cave?"

The summoner asked Gloppy while running beside him. His Warlord tried to remember what exactly was there, but it was visibly hard to recall anything of value.

"Ice, ice, and more ice. Then the Seal in the middle and some more ice."

His nonchalant tone made the summoner sigh with relief.

’Finally some breathing room.’

Leo thought to himself while they ran. Amelia who was still making weird noises on his back now also had a piece of paper in her nostrils to prevent more of this unnatural bleeding.

By the time they got to the entrance of the Ice Cave, Amelia had regained most of her energy, her ankle was also doing way better now as she waved her foot around.

As they looked into the entrance, Trevor prepared himself to enter first.

He took out the damaged shield and held it up, no longer confident in its ability to protect him.

It was visible in his unsure movement that deep inside he was no longer the same person he was minutes ago.

"Wait a moment, and give me your shield."

An anvil appeared in front of Leo. Once he had the shield in his hand he struck it a few times with a hammer.

Not a scratch was left behind, Trevor looked a bit shocked at his equipment.

’Oh right. Havihg a profession and class at once wasn’t normal!’

"Thank you so much, it looks even better than when I bought it!"

Trevor grabbed his shield and entered the cave with regained confidence.

Leo looked at Amelia, lost for words that their tank ignored what just happened.

"Don’t you find it weird?"

He asked while they were descending, his eyes wide open and his hand showing her the transparent hammer.

"Akshually, I would say that yhour skhils and chlass are weirdher!"

Her remarks had a bit of annoyance in them, but what she meant to say made a lot of sense. After all, not a lot of people had a Celestial-grade class, let alone a non combat profession.

There was only one part that he didn’t like about what she just said, and that was her smug attitude with one of her hands fixing the position of the glasses on her nose and the other pointing high into the air.

"Hey... what’s this..."

The tank pointed towards a huge hole in the wall, it was taller than a house and wider than a truck.

Leo turned around to hear an explanation from Gloppy but was met with a puzzled expression instead.

"I... don’t know... it wasn’t here when we explored it before."

They decided to move cautiously, The Fearmonger swarmed every part of the cave with her Hellwings to scout for anything out of the ordinary.

What they found were 2 more holes the same size even deeper into the cave.

Their uneasiness grew worse as they continued to descend. When they reached the opening of the cave where the Seal was supposed to be, they were met with a surprise.

Instead of a space like Gloppy had explained to them earlier, they were met with an entrance that was frozen solid.

Leo walked over and tapped the wall. He could tell that it wasn’t just a small wall, but that the entirety of the space was filled with ice.

"Fearmonger, you got this, right?"

She smirked and nodded, commanding all of her summons to shoot at the wall. Even with the barrage of fireballs, it was melting very slowly.

As they dug deeper, the entirety of the cave shifted its position which put them on guard and stopped burning a hole through the thick ice.

Once it stopped to move, they looked at each other with a puzzled look on their face.

"Just go back to burning through, we will defend the other way."

All of them nodded in agreement to Leo’s command, splitting into two groups. In one was The Fearmonger and her summons. In the other everyone else, doing whatever they can to guard her in case something appeared.

He caught something moving in the walls. He looked at them and could see small lines of blue energy moving through them.

When the cave shifted again, more of the lines appeared for a moment.

"Run! Everyone out right now!"

The sheer urgency in his voice and the fact that he began to run right after finishing those words.

They ran right after, dropping the things they were supposed to do.

"What’s going on Leo!?"

Nyssa shouted while they ran outside, shifting of the cave got worse by the second, making them trip and fall over every step of the way.

Exist of the cave was right in front of them, but instead of the ground that was there previously, they saw only the sky, and the opening began to... shrink.

"Quick! Jump out!"

With the help of Hellwings, they were all pushed outside, and just in time the only exit closed down.

As they were falling to the ground the reason for all of that shifting revealed itself.

The cave was not a cave.

A beam of ice flew their way, which Trevor could barely block, even with the support of Amelia.

And its source?

An Ice Giant.

It being a cave was just a fluke, all this time they were traversing through the insides of a monster.

"Focus on its legs!"

Leo shouted as he fell to the ground, not wasting a moment and instantly running towards the beast.

It was still prone due to just standing up so if they wanted to beat it, they would need to do it right now.

The rest of his party followed right after, running towards the same leg he did.

Their enemy spotted them and threw a fist with the intent to smash all with it.

What he didn’t expect was their power.

Nyssa, Leo, and Gloppy jumped into the fist, each one taking out their weapons to smash them into pieces.

A link connected her to them, sharpening their skills and increasing their strength.

With this increase and the tremendous level of their stats, with one swing of their sword and one punch from Nyssa, the Ice Giant’s fist shattered into a million pieces.

The sheer impact of the attack made the monster lose balance and fall to the ground.

"Now to the legs. Shatter them too!"

They all cheered and ran to destroy its limbs. Seeing how easily they shattered their fists made them regain confidence after their fight with Pulsar.

Unbeknownst to them, the Seal inside the Ice Giant’s heart began to dissolve, slowly corrupting the creature.
