Chapter 171: Chapter 171 Isn’t Closing the Door Superfluous?

Compared to Lily Turner’s reaction, Easton Holmes appeared much calmer, tilting his head to glance at her standing at the doorway, covering her eyes.

"It’s just the two of us in the house, isn’t closing the door unnecessary?"

After calmly saying this, he turned back and continued dressing leisurely.

"You... I’m too lazy to bother with you!"

Worried she might see something she shouldn’t, Lily covered her eyes and turned to leave the room. Only when she was far from the doorway did she lower her hand.

This guy is straying further from his aloof demeanor. At this rate, she’s really concerned he’ll completely rid himself of it someday.

Lily hurried downstairs, wanting to avoid a repeat of the earlier situation. She went into the kitchen and stayed there until the egg was cooked, then took it to the dining room.

"Only one cooked?"

When Easton came downstairs dressed, Lily was peeling the eggshell. Hearing him speak, she instinctively glanced up at him, but immediately looked down to continue her task.

Recalling the little incident from before, Lily felt a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, she replied, "There’s another egg in the pot; if you want it, get it yourself."

Did she boil just one egg? Was she that selfish and lacking in foresight?

"Not bad! You even thought to boil an egg for me, your husband." Easton didn’t turn to the kitchen for the egg; instead, he approached Lily and, before she could react, took the already peeled egg from her hand.

"I think this egg tastes better, so I’ll leave the one in the pot for you." Under her surprised gaze, he took a big bite, stuffing more than half the egg into his mouth.

"No one compares to you in this!"

Lily shook her head incredulously and got up to fetch another egg. By the time she returned to the dining room, Easton had finished the entire egg.

"Want more? I’ll cook some again."

She extended the egg she held towards him, thinking that just like her, he was very hungry from skipping dinner last night.

Having also skipped dinner last night, Easton was indeed very, very hungry. He reached for the egg in Lily’s hand.

Seeing him take the egg, she turned to cook more, but before taking a step, he pulled her back. She turned, puzzled, "Anything else?"

Both eggs are yours now, what more do you want? She thought to herself.

"Wait a moment, I’ll show you a magic trick."

With a slight flick of his wrist towards himself, he easily pulled Lily, who had turned her back, to face him.

"A magic trick?!"

Lily’s eyes widened, her face full of disbelief.

"What’s with that expression? Keep it in check!"

Easton raised his empty hand and made a grabbing motion in front of Lily’s eyes. Suddenly, there was a shadow, and she instinctively blinked.

When Lily opened her eyes again, there was a peeled egg in front of her. Her eyes widened again, "How... did you do that?"

In the blink of an eye, he had peeled the egg with one hand.

"A magician never reveals his secrets!"

Easton smiled mysteriously and stuffed the egg into Lily’s mouth.
