Chapter 130: Chapter 130: You’re So Young, Your Memory Can’t Be That Bad, Can It?
Although he had guessed that Lily Turner thought this way, hearing her say it out loud, Easton Holmes still felt surprised. Along with the surprise, his heart felt both warm and a bit bitter.
"You now have a husband, so you don’t need to handle all things personally in the future."
From what she just said, he also picked up that besides not wanting to disturb his work, she more so didn’t want to trouble him.
He didn’t know if this was because she was used to handling things herself, or if she didn’t consider him as one of her own.
No matter which it was, he couldn’t accept it, especially the latter; he particularly couldn’t accept that.
"It’s just going to the supermarket to buy something, it’s not a big deal." When Lily Turner said this, she suddenly tilted her head to look at the man sitting beside her, "Hey! Don’t tell me you think I can’t even handle such a small thing? You jerk! You really underestimate people."
As she spoke to the end, her voice gradually grew softer, almost mumbling out of her throat.
Easton Holmes only heard the first part, the latter part was unclear to him, but from her expression, he could guess that whatever she mumbled in the end was certainly not anything good.
"Are you bad-mouthing me again?" That expression of hers, if she wasn’t cursing him, she was talking bad about him.
"What do you mean again? I have never bad-mouthed you." No sooner had Easton finished talking, Lily Turner immediately pouted and retorted. In her memory, she never scolded him.
She wouldn’t dare scold him, alright? Nothing good would come out of it for her if she did.
"When did you not bad-mouth me? You even did it the first time we met. You can’t possibly have such a bad memory at your young age?" Lily Turner’s denial immediately reminded Easton of what happened that night. Thinking about it now, it was quite memorable.
With Easton suddenly bringing up the night they first met, Lily Turner’s face fell.
So much happened that night, and even though nearly two months have passed, thinking about it now still fills her with sadness and grief.
That night, she lost so much; she lost her prideful friendship and love, and even more, she lost her virginity, which she had held onto for twenty-two years.
She placed the egg in her hand onto the dining table and silently got up to leave the dining room.
Seeing Lily Turner leave without a word, Easton Holmes suddenly realized he had said something inappropriate. However, did that night really make her so unwilling to recall it?
That night, he didn’t mean to do what he did. He merely mistook her for intentionally approaching him amidst his coincidental encounter, and he was in a bad mood after just getting dumped.
It was because of his irritability that he lost his rationality in an instant, leading to those unbelievable actions that he still finds unimaginable even now.
However, he didn’t regret that impulsive moment that night; at this moment, thinking back, he even felt like giving himself thirty-two likes for his performance that night.
Just as Easton Holmes was about to get up and follow her, his phone rang in his pocket. He took out his phone, glanced at it, and immediately answered.
"What’s up?"
"Boss! There’s an urgent document you need to handle."
The call was from Easton Holmes’ secretary. Hearing there was an urgent document that needed handling, he couldn’t continue to eat. He glanced at the half egg Lily Turner had just placed on the dining table, got up, and left the dining room.
