Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Showing Off Weapons?_1

Immortals generally loved their liquor, and the Eight Immortals were no exception. Lv Dongbin was particularly fond of it and was knocking back drinks with Dog Xiaotian.

As for Qin Shou, although he drank, he only sipped lightly, his gaze wandering erratically, seemingly preoccupied with something. Eventually, his attention fixed on the performance on stage.

On the ice rink, the Flower Fairy danced, with flowers blooming out of nowhere, a sea of blossoms spreading out, all flowers bowing in homage...

The sight had the surrounding Immortals applauding and cheering, bringing a joyful hue to the atmosphere atop the Cloud Altar.

Qin Shou, watching this spectacle, felt nothing but cold sweat on his forehead. He only thought of the dance but forgot that the fairies could cast spells. Their magic, combined with their dancing, made for an effect far more impressive than any naked-eye 3D special effects! And then there was Chang’e’s dance, without a single special effect...

By comparison, the grandeur of the scene was just too far apart...

Qin Shou felt that Chang’e was probably going to be outdone this time.

"Worried about your fairy?" He Xiangu sidled up, asking with concern.

Qin Shou replied, "Yes... By the way, fairy, why are there so few female immortals here? They haven’t truly been..." Qin Shou made a throat-slitting gesture.

He Xiangu chuckled and said, "Of course not. Actually, there are many female immortals, but they prefer private gatherings, so they’re all at another venue."

"Er... Don’t they come to pay respects to the Jade Emperor and others?" Qin Shou wondered, as that seemed quite disrespectful to the Jade Emperor.

He Xiangu replied, "The Queen Mother is over there, so the Jade Emperor doesn’t have much to say."

Qin Shou instantly understood...

"The Flower Fairy’s dance is getting more and more beautiful," Lan Caihe exclaimed from the side.

Qin Shou nodded and said, "Indeed, her dance with magic is so beautiful. It’s just a pity that my fairy doesn’t know any magic..."

"Doesn’t know magic?" He Xiangu asked in surprise.

Qin Shou nodded and then shared the story of his encounter with Chang’e, the bleak days on the moon. But he wasn’t really complaining; it was more like a sweet little memory.

After hearing Qin Shou’s story, Lv Dongbin furrowed his brow and said, "I’ve long heard that the moon is off-limits to immortals, but I never imagined it to be so desolate. It’s indeed been hard on the two of you, master and servant."

Lan Caihe said, "In such a place, even if one knows cultivation techniques, I’m afraid it would be of little use. The vital energy between heaven and earth is so thin there; a year of cultivation might not even match the vital energy absorbed from taking a single breath outside."

Zhang Guolao said, "Yes... I thought the Immortal Realm was all like this, but I didn’t expect the moon to be that way; it’s simply not a place for people to stay. If there’s a chance, our group should plead with the Jade Emperor on behalf of the fairy and the rabbit, to see if we can find another place for you to live."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou quickly stood up, for the first time appearing quite solemn as he bowed earnestly to everyone and said, "Thank you, Immortals. I am here, on behalf of my fairy, to express our gratitude."

"Hey, you’re a sly rabbit, aren’t you? We haven’t even agreed yet, and Zhang Guolao merely made a suggestion, but you’ve already started thanking us. If we don’t agree now, wouldn’t that make us seem unappreciative?" Limp Li said with a laugh.

Zhong Li laughed heartily and said, "In that case, let’s all be appreciative and help out. How about it?"

He Xiangu and the others readily agreed.

Grateful, Qin Shou picked up the wine jug and said, "To all of you!"

But then, Dog Xiaotian snatched the jug away, saying warily, "Folks, this damn rabbit can’t hold his liquor, and he doesn’t have a good temper when he’s drunk. The last time he got sloshed, he even swindled me, so I think we need to control his drinking!"

Everyone was startled but quickly asked for the backstory, which the rabbit reluctantly disclosed, causing uproarious laughter throughout the crowd... They all declared the rabbit to be awesome and impudent.

Qin Shou, with an innocent look on his face, made everyone laugh even harder.

He Xiangu hugged him tightly, rubbing her little face on his head...

Qin Shou had an expression that said he was used to being teased, while Dog Xiaotian rolled his eyes and stopped looking, muttering, "Gonna take a leak..."

As soon as Qin Shou heard that, he turned around quickly, pretending he knew nothing.

When Dog Xiaotian left, Qin Shou gestured to everyone with a hooked finger, whispering mysteriously, "Does anyone want to see something fun?"

In fact, someone at Dog Xiaotian’s level didn’t really have urgent needs, but he was different from others; some habits persisted. Besides, he truly couldn’t stand Qin Shou’s special treatment anymore and needed to get some fresh air under the pretense of inequality.

He wasn’t picky, found a secluded corner, went over, and then...

"Damn it... how does this work again? Do I lift the left leg first, or the right leg? Mmp, how could I forget this?! No, that’s impossible to forget... think carefully. Try... left leg? Right leg? Or the front legs?"

A big Black Dog was seen standing beside a tree, lifting a front paw, then a hind paw, mumbling some mantra for a while, but in the end, did nothing at all.

"Or, should I just stand and pee? What if I spray my leg?" Dog Xiaotian pondered with a thoughtful look.

After much deliberation, Dog Xiaotian lay on the ground, legs pointing skyward, and set up the cannon, checking the angle...

Dog Xiaotian shook his head and said, "That’s not the right pose either. If I start peeing, it’ll definitely go on my face..."

So Dog Xiaotian got up again, and finally, with no other choice, simply stood up on two legs, looked left, then right, no one around...

Then, with his front paws mimicking human hands, he straightened his water gun, took a deep breath, and hissed...

"Phew... so this is how it’s done... didn’t wet my foot, just feel a bit tired, but overall it must be correct," Dog Xiaotian grumbled, while simultaneously admiring the gentle stream, filled with infinite emotions.

Just then, a white dog walked by Dog Xiaotian, made its way to a tree, lifted its back leg, and... hissed.

Afterward, the white dog walked off... just like that.

Leaving Dog Xiaotian standing there, holding his own ’weapon’, the wind blowing, completely disheveled...

For a long while, Dog Xiaotian snapped back to reality and exclaimed, "Damn it... that’s not right! Where did that dog come from? What’s a dog doing here?"

"Pfft..."

A series of suppressed laughter came from behind, and as Dog Xiaotian turned his head, he became even more disheveled.

Behind him stood a line of people who had appeared at some unknown time... holding wine glasses, plates, and eating fruit.

From left to right were Limp Li, Han Zhongli, Lv Dongbin, Lan Caihe, Prince Cao, a blushing He Xiangu, Han Xiangzi, and Zhang Guolao, the Eight Immortals!

Wait! Where’s the rabbit?

Dog Xiaotian suddenly snapped back to his senses. When there was a scene to watch, how could it possibly lack that malicious, grave-smoking bastard of a rabbit?

Turning his head, he saw a rabbit running from a distance, then with a dumbfounded look gave Dog Xiaotian a glance below the belt, Qin Shou commented leisurely, "What are you doing? Sunbathing your weapon? Or researching what ingredients to add to brew liquor?"
