Chapter 346: Chapter 343: Emperor Shun of Jiuyi [Second Update]_1
In Tianyong City, almost every household worships the Jade Emperor, so when someone was burning incense, Qin Shou didn’t pay it any mind.
Having checked the price and finding it reasonable, Qin Shou felt relieved, sat on the chair, and curiously asked, "Damn dog, have you changed? A bowl of wontons is all it takes to satisfy you now?"
Dog Xiaotian curled his lips and said, "I, Mr. Dog, consider you a friend, so I’m not going to rip you off! I’ll tell you a huge secret, a bowl of wontons, isn’t that fair?"
Qin Shou didn’t believe a word the damn dog said; he always felt the creature was up to something, but after watching for a while, he couldn’t see anything worth scheming over, so he said, "Alright, when the boss comes, I’ll pay for a month’s worth of wontons for you. You can come and eat whenever you feel like it, how’s that? Pretty loyal, right?"
Upon hearing this, Dog Xiaotian immediately laughed and said, "Good brother! No wonder I think so highly of you!"
"Enough, spit it out. I’m waiting," Qin Shou said.
"What’s the rush?" Dog Xiaotian replied. "I’m not going to eat you out of house and home this time, but you have to keep me company and eat till we’re both happy before we split!"
Qin Shou couldn’t figure out what the dog was getting at, but since dawn was approaching, he didn’t care and just nodded his head.
Only then did Dog Xiaotian say, "There are countless cultivation techniques in the world, but not a single one that can be cultivated to a state of Great Perfection at every realm! However, there are many techniques that can reach Great Perfection at individual realms. Just like the Heaven Equalizing Strategy you’ve learned, or the Chonghua Sutra I’ll tell you about today."
Qin Shou was startled, "The Chonghua Sutra? What’s that?"
Dog Xiaotian also paused for a moment, staring straight at Qin Shou and said, "You don’t know?"
Qin Shou retorted, "Should I know?"
After thinking for a while, Dog Xiaotian said, "Well then, how about the Overlord of Youdu, do you know him?"
Qin Shou looked confused. The Overlord of Youdu? Who was that?
Dog Xiaotian gave Qin Shou a look as if he were an idiot and said, "You really don’t know? All right, do you at least know about Emperor Shun of the Yu-Yu?"
Qin Shou exclaimed, "Emperor Shun? One of the Five Emperors, Shun?"
Dog Xiaotian indeed looked at Qin Shou as if he were an imbecile and said, "No shit! If it’s not that Shun, who else could it be?"
Qin Shou, embarrassed, responded, "How the hell is that my fault? If you had just said Emperor Shun, wouldn’t I have known right away? You come up with Overlord of Youdu, how was I supposed to know that?"
Dog Xiaotian snorted, "Don’t make excuses for ignorance. One of the Five Emperors of humanity, and you don’t even know his courtesy name, you still think you have a point? Just admit your ignorance, no need to make lame excuses."
Qin Shou didn’t argue over that, but he also didn’t want the damn dog to keep looking down on him, so he steered the conversation back on track and asked, "What’s the connection between this Chonghua Sutra and Emperor Shun you mentioned?"
"It’s a long story," Dog Xiaotian began, "but I’ll give you the short version. Simply put, Emperor Shun is dead!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou almost dropped the cup he was holding, barely saving it from falling to the ground.
If this had been on Earth, someone telling him Emperor Shun was dead would certainly have him respond, "No kidding! It’s been thousands of years, how could he not be?"
But this was the Immortal Realm! The Five Emperors of humanity, they were no ordinary people! If this Rabbit could live for who knows how many tens of thousands of years, what about Emperor Shun?
To Qin Shou’s knowledge, Emperor Shun was one of the initial pioneers of humanity’s moral awakening, the first to propose that filial piety is the most important of virtues and indeed someone who truly led by example, becoming a role model of filial duty for everyone!
It is said that in the lands of Emperor Shun, everyone watched and emulated him, understanding propriety and filial piety, no one picked up lost items on the road, and no one closed their doors at night!
Such virtue truly transformed a region, educating and influencing the entire world—a person of great moral character!
With such meritorious virtue, even a pig would probably have ascended to heaven, let alone Emperor Shun?
Seeing this, it was improbable that Emperor Shun could have died of old age; that left being killed ... but ... that was one of the human Five Emperors! With all his merits in teaching and virtue, even the Heavenly Court would defer to him somewhat, so how could he be dead?
Qin Shou looked at Dog Xiaotian and asked, "Is that true or false?"
Dog Xiaotian curled his lip and said, "If I said it was false, it wouldn’t be any of your concern. It’s true, as true as it gets! But don’t ask me how Emperor Shun died, because the truth is ... the Three Emperors are still around, yet the whereabouts of all Five Emperors are unknown. But Emperor Shun is indeed dead, buried within Jiuyi Mountain in Yunmeng Marsh ..."
Qin Shou fell silent, needing to digest this information. An immortal dying was one thing, but that was one of the Five Emperors, the Overlord of Morality!
Qin Shou still couldn’t believe it and pressed, "Are you sure?"
Dog Xiaotian slammed the table and cursed, "Bullshit! Is this something to joke about? It’s recorded in the historical texts, ’Emperor Shun went on a southern inspection tour, met his demise in the wilderness of Cangwu, and was buried in Jiuyi Mountain in Jiangnan.’ Look at you, with that idiotic expression; I’ll explain it clearly for you. When Emperor Shun went to the southern part of the South Shanbu Continent for inspection, something happened, and he died on Cangwu Mountain.
Cangwu Mountain is none other than Jiuyi Mountain. After his death, he was directly buried on Jiuyi Mountain.
This is recorded in black and white; you can ask anyone you like, and there’s no one who wouldn’t know about it. Moreover, the descendants of Emperor Shun live at the foot of Jiuyi Mountain and have built a city there called Lingling."
Qin Shou was puzzled, "If Emperor Shun was on a southern inspection, then he shouldn’t be a southerner, right? Why not return to his roots? Why be buried specifically in Jiuyi Mountain?"
Dog Xiaotian seemed too lazy to speak ...
At that moment, a voice came from inside the store, a female voice with a slight coldness to it, saying faintly, "That’s because Jiuyi Mountain might be the ancestral site of the world’s dragon veins!
The books record: In the wilderness of Cangwu, peaks that outshine several districts surround, with nine summits guiding a stream each—valleys and gorges form barriers, with different ridges sharing the same imposing trend. Travelers are bewildered by this sight, hence the name: Jiuyi Mountain.
To put it simply, Jiuyi Mountain has nine peaks, and there is a stream on each one. Although the peaks are different, all of them display a posture of worship toward the main peak, Shunyuan Peak. Anyone who has seen it can’t help but wonder, which is why it’s called Jiuyi Mountain.
However, some also say that there are many mysteries on this mountain that remain unexplained to this day."
Upon hearing this voice, Qin Shou instinctively turned around to see a little girl step out. She had a face that was cold and arrogant, and even her look at them carried a hint of disdain!
This was the first time Qin Shou felt disdained at first sight, and he felt a little uncomfortable in his heart. He was about to say something when he heard Dog Xiaotian’s telepathic message, "Rabbit, calm down, this is my niece. Give me some face and don’t cause a scene."
Though Dog Xiaotian was shameless, he still had a bit of pride deep down. After knowing him for so long, this was the first time he had taken the initiative to plead with Qin Shou.
Qin Shou realized that this young girl meant something else to Dog Xiaotian ...
So, what could it be?
Qin Shou didn’t believe for a second that the girl was Dog Xiaotian’s niece. If she really were his niece, she should be a little bitch ... And no way did Qin Shou believe that Dog Xiaotian, this frivolous creature, would have such a high and mighty, arrogant, and respectable-looking niece!
If not a niece, could she possibly be a child bride?
